Good advise as always. Clothes that fit. Wear clothes for your body type. Less is more. all good stuff. I have to admit, there are two areas where I bend these rules. 1. I don't personally like V neck undershirts. Don't know why, as my chest isn't especially hairy. IMO, black and white crew necks in a technical fabric are good enough, and not visible when wearing a shirt and tie, and look decent as layering pieces in casual outfits. And the black ones can be worn by themselves at the gym or just casually with jeans. 2. except for not mixing black shoes with a brown belt or vice versa, I would not get too hung up on mixing leathers and metals. Trying to perfect match the watch strap, the belt and the shoes looks a little fussy, IMO. So a dark brown belt with Walnut or cognac shoes is fine, as is mixing brown with oxblood or chili. Or, grey shoes with black belt. And the same goes for matching metals. IMO, nothing wrong with mixing a white gold wedding band with a yellow gold dress watch. Or a yellow gold wedding band with a stainless steel watch.
I brought a summer sports jacket last week and got it tailored to fit. I was more expensive with I thought it was but worth it. I live in a rural area and if I dress too nice I will stick out like a sore thumb, it's a fine line between too nice, just right and bad.

David D...I get it, I know exactly how you feel and what you're saying. At my age (51) I just can't get into that 'no socks' trend/style or whatever it is...not that it's wrong mind you. That's just not me, (just my opinion) I don't care for it and don't like the look.
Hey Coutrtney. Can you please bring up a topic about men with disabilities like Autism, wheel chair, can't drive a car, etc by the end of the year? I think it's not fair if it's always about how men should look like, or how they dress. We men with disabilities need love from women too! Just one topic about us please!
At first I wasn't sure what you meant by novelty until I checked urban dictionary. It says basically being original in an odd like weird or rebellious kind of way. So when guys wear things to stand out with a funny attention getting sort of way is bad. Which I have to agree. When guys do that it attracts attention but not in an attractive way. Which women don't like.
I have a question? I was thinking of getting a pocket watch for a dress suit instead of wearing a wrist watch. Suites now days don’t have a pocket watch holder I was thinking of having the tailor install a pocket watch holder on the suite. I was thinking have a loop in the back to hook the chain and the pocket watch holder in the front. You can see the beauty of the pocket watch that way. Style rule 4 - the undershirt : I'm sure I speak for a majority of my fellow Brits when I say that I'm constantly perplexed by all this undershirt thing on American style channels. I think by and large we gave up on wearing undershirts in Britain at least two or three decades ago, perhaps even longer back than that. Nobody wears them here, nobody cares.....it just seems like an American preoccupation :-)
OK, Courtney, this is my problem: I ride an EUC (let's just say motorcycle) and when I leave the house, I have to have my helmet, jacket, pants, shes/boots, and any padded gear. When I get off my ride, the only thing I can really take off is my helmet. What fashion can I have if I need to wear protective gear everywhere I go. These fashion tips are useless for any man use rides free with the wind (and that's a hell of alot of men). Nobody EVER does a fashion video for men who ride ON devices and not IN them. What do you say about that?
So when I wear dress shirts I normally roll the sleeves up, tuck it in ( obviously), and then unbutton the collar and the next button down wich shows my tshirts neck line. Is that still a no go even when I accent the colors?
I would recommend not showing the undershirt regardless! Wear a V-neck if you’re going to unbutton so it doesn’t show. Rolling up your sleeves is great though, love that look 🙌🏼
Courtney - thank you for the fashion advice; simple and conservative, yet stylish. When I was in the Air Force, once of the guys I served with stated that every gentleman should find themselves a good tailor. Well, I did; this tailor is a 3rd generation men's clothier. As a Christmas gift to myself, I'm going to have him make a custom fit suit for me. Love your channel.. I hope you and your family have a Blessed Christmas!
Go Air Force! I don't know if you had the three button suit when you were in, but the first thing I did was get mine tailored on the sides and it made 100% of the difference.
Another style rule is to trust Courtney haha 😆. Seriously i definitely value these rules because they make sense and is practical. To me fit is the most important thing because if I'm not comfortable; I'm not wearing it. I don't like super bright colors. I appreciate you showing me how to match things too. I wish you and your family a blessed Christmas holiday my RUclips friend 🙌🏽🌲♥️
If fitted clothing is a trend, then it's probably the safest trend that there is. Having clothes custom tailored to fit has been around for a long time, I don't think it's ever going to go "out of style"
@@WarloyJenkins I hear you. Depends on who you ask. The age group/demographic. Todays generation, fitted clothing is out of style. To us older guys in our late 20’s to mid 30’s- fitted just feels right. And ibaggy clothes just goes against everything we know in terms of fashion. But todays generation love boxy, relaxed and oversized clothing. And also, looser fitting tailoring in suits have ask been around for a long time, probably just as long and clean tailoring. If you look back at suiting In history you will see cut always fluctuates. From Zootsuits all the way to the 90’s relaxed pleated suits, which btw is back today. For extra points Courtney, maybe address women who (used to a few years ago) constantly wear tan high heels with EVERYTHING and EVERY color they wore. Thankfully this fad is fading in South Fla, but still present, lol.
Another piece of advice to go along with all of these: work out! The more fit you get, the more your clothes will appear to fit you better because of your muscles filling them out. That will greatly enhance your appearance no matter what you wear (so long as the clothing subscribes to Courtney's first tip about fit).

I can't stand briefs. Funny enough I wear American Eagle boxers and they're the most comfortable undergarment I've been able to find. Briefs would be a big downgrade.
I've really been getting into the classic gentleman's style lately and adding a touch of my kickass style too and it's been paying off. The only staples I'm missing right now are a pair of leather Chelsea boots and a black fedora hat which would both compliment me and my style rather well. Nonetheless, your content is always very uplifting and positive, and I think I can speak for everyone here by saying that we all appreciate what you do. 😄😊
Love these videos Courtney. But you know what would be popular? Is if you do a live stream from Never Never Land where a guy can just be himself and women go gaga over him just as he is.

I on the other hand like the oversized “trend” way more than the tight fitting 2010-2017 trend. I still see guys wearing tight v-necks with skinny jeans & I can feel how uncomfortable it is. Its definitely a generational thing though. I see alot of older people in their 30s prefer the tight fitting trend.
Older millennials grew up with baggy and oversized clothes being the trend in the 90s and tend to have a lot of regrets about it. I found some chinos or khakis I got in high school a few months back and could still fit in them, but they looked really bad. Then there's stuff like the really baggy jeans being mops for muddy puddles. The extremes of either tend are not great for most people though. I own one pair of skinny jeans and that was enough. Almost all my other jeans are slim fit which is much better for me
Im not an older millennial but I am one of the younger millennials & I also grew up with the baggy trend. Idk maybe its bc I was in middle/highschool but I dont have many regrets about it. I grew up in a low income minority area & we all kinda made it our identity. It was like you said, a trend…but so are the tapered jeans, no show socks etc looks. I agree that there are extremes on both ends, but from what I am seeing the baggy trend now is nowhere near the baggy trend in the early 2000s. Man I remember I would NOT buy a t shirt UNLESS the bottom touched my knees and the short sleeve touched my elbows lol. My jeans were also sagging like crazy..point is, thats not todays trend & i think today’s baggy looks really good & comfortable for casual everyday wear. I really enjoy & like it
courtney, with slim fit pants you can also see the boxer briefs. also, if you have big legs, i.e. work out, boxer briefs are not very comfortable. the best underwear is briefs. can't see the outline under pants and legs fit.
To keep your dress shirts clean (protect from sweat and odor), comfort, to create a smoother appearance (helps prevent muffin tops and nips from showing through your dress shirt) 😂 many reasons!
Gentleman you SHOULD always dress to impress not for the ladies but for yourself. Please don't dress like a fat kid a comic con. Spend money on good clothes and shoes. Ms Ryan you know a lot of these How to style videos. Impressive.
Buy clothes that fit you because if you have some clothes that fit and some that don't you will only wear the ones that fit you right and the other are a waster of money.

Love it! ❤️ thank you so much, glad you’re here!
Lmao that style is so cringe dude. Just get a nice pair of jeans and a well-fitted t-shirt or long-sleeve.
im confused why this woman is telling men how to dress. this is like me making a video telling women how to dress
@@DB-sd3cw The way I do it isn't "cringe." I don't follow trends, I set them.
@@Blox117 It's just some friendly tips to help us out. Don't get too fussy about it.
Trump, Ronaldo and Dan Blizierian? Courtney’s thumbnail clickbait game is strong 😂
😂 I searched something along the lines of “worst men’s outfits 2021” and this collage of these 3 popped up. Lucky me! Hahaha
Love these videos Courtney. But you know what would be popular?
Is if you do a live stream from Never Never Land where a guy can just be himself and women go gaga over him just as he is.
Fit is King 👑, Match Leathers, Matching Proportions, Rules of the Undershirt, No Wrinkles Allowed except for Linen Shirts, Less is More, Boxer Briefs are better than Boxers. These are awesome tips and I follow almost all of them already, Thanks for Sharing Courtney 🙏🏽
I appreciate your efforts for making man more attractive by these tips.
What's novelty?
I started off to basics and then slowly progresses to more relaxed and street style. I thinks its the style that fits for me.
Finding what works for you is key! 🙌🏼
I will match color of watch leather watch strap and shoes. Always a black belt. I feel a black belt won't highlight my oversized midsection.
🙌🏼
I kow the question will seem odd, but what is the point of an under-shirt if you're not gonna show it ?
To keep your dress shirts clean (protect from sweat and odor), comfort, to create a smoother appearance (helps prevent muffin tops and nips from showing through your dress shirt) 😂 many reasons!
@@CourtneyRyan Ok, thanks
Video on leather jacket outfit ideas…struggle with a casual look
Oooh I could definitely do this! Keeping it simple is always great. T-shirt, denim and sneakers or boots 🙌🏼
@@CourtneyRyan I can’t wIt for this video!!!! I love my leather jacket and want to wear it any chance I get. Since in Texas it’s only one season I can
Good to know as a guy.
Just like how horizontal stripes do not flatter a heavier man
Exactly!
If she doesn't care for you as a person and a friend then no matter how you dress will make any difference
Undershirt out the bottom sloppy. Undershirt around collar can add depth. Like a Polo
So, if I'm not new here, are you still Courtney Ryan?
Oversized looks good
Fedora, waistcoat and don't forget the pocket watch.
Fancy 😎
130 vids under 1 min ❤️from India
Yay!
Well I wear some loose stuff because I don’t feel comfortable with myself.
Gentleman you SHOULD always dress to impress not for the ladies but for yourself. Please don't dress like a fat kid a comic con.
Spend money on good clothes and shoes.
Ms Ryan you know a lot of these How to style videos. Impressive.
Putting your best foot forward is important! Love this comment ☺️ do it for you!
@@CourtneyRyan yes styles make a very first impression and also important when going out. Either a job interview or going out on the first date.
Ay mi madre, ay mi madre el Bicho❤️🔥❤️🔥
Classic rules, novelty looks cheap. Its a thing that works in everything. Style, clothing, houses, cars...
Tacos on them 😂😂😂😂
Buy clothes that fit you because if you have some clothes that fit and some that don't you will only wear the ones that fit you right and the other are a waster of money.
How does one tell what body type they are?
Also skinny jeans on men should be made illegal. You have nuts, be kind to them.
Yup,like the girls I see at them that are at least 10kg overweight but wearing the tightest yoga pants with the shortest sports bra and walk around like they're Shakira. Cone on....
Chick's dig me because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's something unusual
😂
We need Haley back on. She’s hot.
Oversized clothes just look sloppy and lazy.
Agreed!
Second again beautiful
☺️🥰
People who are very slim and wearing XXXL clothes they're really have No idea what you are talking about 🤣
What about country boys?
okkk, secrets out from Ahmedabad everyone there has their clothes tailored on cheap prices. What else
I think linen might be a bit of a mistake at this time of year in the northern hemisphere.
100% 😂
@@CourtneyRyan Thermal knickers (as they would say in England) and hot chocolate is what you need at this time of year....... style can wait until its a bit warmer..... 🤣😂🤣
Rule of the undershirt. "don't wear undershirts".
Im sure at this point courtney knows more about mens fashion than women's fashion.
Honestly I feel like I do 😂
@@CourtneyRyan 😄
Friendly suggestion: Additional images would have been helpful, such as illustrating pant length dos and don’ts. Your visual examples of matching belts and shoes is a perfect example of how to do it. That was great.
Worrrrrd….. boxer briefs are sexaaaaay!!! 🙌🏽
Right! 🔥
I see the people in the video lol.
I googled “worst men’s outfits 2021” 😂
if you pull up wearing any of the fits in the thumbnail, best believe you're getting roasted
2nd
3rd lol
