Thanks Courtney. All of your wardrobe videos have been so great and helpful. An ex-girlfriend of mine who went to fashion school once told me that a good rule of thumb to base your clothes on is "if it doesn't make you feel awesome when you wear it then get rid of it" and that was a huge help in deciding what to purge and what to go after. Your videos just help me narrow down the search and save so much time. Thanks again!
This is one of the better videos on this topic ive seen. Very straightforward and seems to really cover the actual essentials most men would need for a minimal wardrobe.
Courtney this is the first time i heard of the capsule wardrobe thing. It's crazy because i kinda was on it already but i didn't know what clothing pieces i needed. I like neutral/warm colors. I also cleared my closet out recently because i plan on giving away all my older clothes to goodwill so i can start over. I truly appreciate you putting us on game about what works. You haven't stirred me wrong in your advice. Be blessed 😊🙌🏽♥️
This video couldn't have come at a perfect time. I am trying to improve my dressing style but have been hesitant about spending the money. Your content is really helpful thanks
Courtney, found your channel about a week ago. Watched all the fashion videos to help minimize the clutter and I've found them extremely helpful for the pieces I lacked. Keep up the great work!

Mam,your voice is so soothing that I have been binge watching your videos since yesterday and loving your content and learning many things.Thankyou & keep going❤️
I adore your videos but this is by far my favorite. A great way to revamp your wardrobe for 2022 and beyond. Thank you for thinking about the Minimalist out there!
I did this a couple years ago and it has made dressing well super easy. Stick to the basics and classics. I like buck mason for my clothes. It’s a little pricier but their quality is really good and just elevated classics.
I cleaned out my closet recently and I'm so glad I did! I then started buying clothes that I KNEW I was going to wear and I've felt confident in all the outfits that I've worn for like the past 2 months.
I think out of this entire list the only thing I have is the suit. Lol!! My closet is literally filled with graphic tshirts and workout clothes. One of the biggest reason's behind is that I don't go out besides the gym. I don' do concerts or bars. Never get invited for anything else. So it's keep it simple and easy when it comes to clothes. Shorts and tshirts and a couple other things. Definitely a great video on what to get if you're social.
Very good video! I dropped like 3k on a whole wardrobe of quality pieces according to this recipe and it really does work. I have like 10 awesome combos to work from and it never feels like I'm wearing the same thing.
@dang75790 that's good for you! Every person has different taste and levels of which they are comfortable spending. I may spend a little more on that because I enjoy it as well, others spend more on other things that they enjoy 😊
Ahhhh...yesss....the ward robe dilemma. It's never ending. I think as time goes on we all improve on it. When you retire, you can almost get rid of everything and rebuild to suit your needs. The basic color scheme you mentioned is a great tip. I got lucky where I live. There is a retro store that bought almost all of my old clothes. Now I'm in rebuild mode and probably overdoing it again.
This is a very helpful video with great tips, Thank You Courtney for sharing this 🙏🏽 I usually wear clothes that are interchangeable anyways and colors that compliment my skin tone.
Awesome video Courtney! Exactly what I need to do but didn’t know how to go about it. Your expertise on what works with men’s fashion is much appreciated. Will keep watching for more tips. 👍
After binging a lot of videos on your channel 😅 this has definitely been my favourite! Opened my eyes to a whole new way to look at fashion & men's clothing. Thank you Courtney!!! 👊🏿

3/33 for life. and cycle buying, I get what I replace during the summer sales, wear the clothes through the season, purge after christmas, replace the purged during after xmas sales, wear spring summer, etc
I don't like Vee neck t-Shirts either. There is a hack that must be followed with your 'dress' Tshirts though; NEVER wear them to bed. You will stretch out the neck. If the neck starts looking stretched or wavy, it just became your mow the lawn shirt or sleeping shirt. Also when you dry your Tshirts, be right there to get them out of the dryer immediately. A wrinkly T-Shirt makes you look sloven. They are difficult to iron without stretching them weirdly. You might be able to get less intense wrinkles out with a steamer but if there is a lot of wrinkles or even one particularly intense wrinkle. short cycle dry them again for 5 mins. If they laid in the dryer over night, you may have to wash them again to get the wrinkles out. Avoid bleach, it will yellow your shirts, "Oxy Clean" works well to keep whites white, not yellow (great for socks too). And it's safe for colors also. No matter how well the shirt (any shirt) looks or fits, if it's wrinkly or stretched out of shape you'll just look unkempt and lazy. V-neck sweaters look good with a crew neck, or collared neck shirt of contrasting color. PS: The pink waffle knit sweater I've seen you wear is a worthy waiver of your black clothing policy. And Pink goes great with black. Especially on you Courtney.
Today I got two more shirts and three white tshirts, little by little working in the all mixed wardrobe. (Saving now buying next seasons clothings) so I can’t really wear them yet (better because I’m on a diet and loosing weight) 12 more kg to go. (27lbs) 6’8” 198lbs goal
Great advice on the footwear! I am happy she is validating my tendency to spend a little extra on shoes. I’ve never been hurt by a shirt or pants… but having bad shoes- ACK!
Hi Courtney! Would you consider creating an updated capsule/wardrobe essentials video for women? I love your style! (As well as your content, of course) 😊
Good solid advice, Courtney. and a worthwhile exercise. Now, once you built your capsule wardrobe, how many multiples of each item will you actually need to get? Does it depend on how often you plan to do laundry? Or how often you plan to replace worn out items. When I was younger, I spent a year studying abroad where I was forced to do this, and because I was limited to 2 suitcases and a carry on, I needed to bring only the essentials for the entire 11 months I was there. Even then, I had to buy some sweaters, shirts, pants and shoes when I was there, and at the end of the year, most of the clothes I brought over were completely trashed since I had to wear them far more often then I would have in a usual rotation.
I have found that the winter clothes are a little harder just because of the price. My advice would be to get two different colored top coats because they look very dapper and two different colored turtlenecks. If you have that I promise you will get complements because they look very clean and professional.
Hi Courtney, I found this video really helpful. I just turned 35 and find myself wanting and needing a wardrobe reset. The video helped me learn I already have several of these pieces to work with. Question: Do you have any Amazon (brand) recommendations for solid color button down shirts?
I do something like this, except I’m a sneaker head so I have a lot of kicks. With the sneakers I limited my collection to a few of my favorite styles to wear (Jordan 1s, 11s and 3s) and get those in a bunch of colors and get more whenever some that I like come out. I only match accessories to the shoes really so shirts pants and outerwear is all simple basics.
I'm in workout clothes or stretchy deleuth pants like 99% of the time. Cuz damn they comfy. But the piece that gets the most attention is a t shirt that has the incredible dad on it that says "dad bod"
I confess, I had to hear advice like this for a million years before I started to go along with it. When I finally did, I was happier with my clothes and how I wore them. Guys, it does not make you less manly to "be into clothes". Co sign on the closet purge. Side note to older or oddly-shaped men: get a tailor, seriously, you've no idea.
I totally agree with investing in top quality clothing. You'll have them for years if looked after and will look and feel much more comfortable wearing them. Others will notice also. Just decide what will work well for you and what won't. Keeping your wardrobe closet 100% clutter free also makes a huge difference. As well pay mind to what fits your body type well and keep footwear clean. I really enjoy your content on here Courtney. Keep up the good work with your channel. Enjoy your weekend. Greetings from Canada.
First of I did watch an other video and I was thinking „ another crazy feminism girl“ man you really proved me wrong. Great content nice down to earth easy and calm. Congrats your a intelligent lady keep it up 👍
I think these are all great, but I the one thing I I'm still iffy about is having a suit, well as t least for me. Because I have a uniform for my work and I don't go out on dates and don't go out like clubbing so just not sure me having a suit would be worth it. But I understand on why having one is good.
For shoes, I suggest a pair of black oxfords for dress shoes, a pair of sneakers and for boots a pair of jodhpurs boots if you live in a climate that allows it.
Great video for beginners but avoid black on black, white on white. The other mistake is poor fit. I am thinner and adjust my fit by tailoring them to fit. If you look around you can find someone to do basic tailoring cheap. Another one is keep your clothing not just clean but looking clean. Yellow collar on a white shirt looks bad. Rub Fel-Naptha over the wet collar and put in a plastic bag over night and then wash. If that don't fix the collar I go to a option that is harder on the fabric. I add borax and broken up dish washer pod with your standard soap. Dingy whites add bluing to the wash. Just using an iron on clothing really helps your look. I worked in a suit and tie for years doing networking and repairing computers and looking good was always hard. If you can move out of basic colors and into patterns you like, your clothing will reflect you personally.
Hi Courtney, I have this thing with exposing my feet it makes me uncomfortable. They’re not deformed or anything and i take care of them. But EVERY girl i date eventually tells me to take my sox off!
