Can i just say, the ost to this whole series is a damn bop. Jesus JRPG's just dont do it anymore. This was just a parody of one online and it's more memorable than any recent MMO's ive ever played. Insane.
Thanks Bro, I beat dot hack infection, mutation, outbreak, and got halfway through quarantine but couldn't finish 😢. College got in the way, and by the time I know it, it's 2024... 16 years later. I got married and got busy with work, and found that I am no longer able to complete this masterpiece. I'm glad that you were able to summarize the ending for me and give me closure. 😊
I watched //Sign without knowing it was just a part of a multimedia project. Now I've been going down the .hack rabbit hole trying to piece everything together. These videos helped a lot! Its so much better than watching full gameplays or just a collection of cutscenes. Thank you for this. I appreciate your effort!

Apparently, CC2's Little Tail Bronx series has a number of .hack references, or at the very least Solatorobo and Fuga reuse some assets and designs from them. I think Solatorobo even jokes that one of the villains from the series helped destroy the world. They're pretty obscure games themselves, anyways. See if you can check them out sometime.
Just got into .hack, watched sign and watched your .hack playlist. I think you did a great job at making the video and explaining the story without losing a lot of the tension. Keep up the good work.

nice to see story done up in video, i dropped the series i was just not fan of combat, i found it very boring and repetitive, i loved the story i just couldn't with game play.
Yeah the combat wasn't one of it's strongest elements, if it made some sort of improvement between the four games would be nice but also might take away that you're playing an mmorpg in a specific era

On a whim i decided to watch through dot hack sign and once i figured out that the story continues into the games I wanted to find a summary or playthrough of the events of the game and I was very happy to find your channel and these videos! I was tempted to do those as well as the Another Birth novels but for that I would need to brainstorm another method of how to do those videos from how I've setup other Full Story videos.

Hahaha yes the core grinding was annoying, if this game ever gets remade that is the first thing I recommend they remove near the final few bosses. I'm glad the video helped you see the finale of the story! \o/

Same for me, I played the first three games but never got the last one to finish it until recently. I think the only reason I feel the combat could use some work is because it pauses every time you open your menus and you have to hold onto tons of gear to use certain elemental attacks/spells and your teammates will follow your command only once so you have to keep pinging them to do certain things. The story was definitely what sparked this series since I'm sure others would like a refresher or some nostalgia
That is the exact reason I made these videos, I hadn't played them since I was a kid so I figured maybe others who haven't played it in a while can get a refresher.
I've been poking around the .hack// series as inspiration for a personal story, and this series was such a great help in my research without having to go through the [admittedly tedious and repetitive] games themselves! This helped me a lot while playing the G.U. series as well, since I could catch onto little Easter eggs and goodies. Yeah I hadn't played the games since they first came out and I remember liking the games so in my pursuit to complete all four of the games I realized no one really talked about the story and I wanted others to experience the game they may not have finished either. I do love. Hack but the ps2 games did not need to be 4 games and the overall story is really not that deep the whole twilight dragon blah blah is all nonsense its just a story about Harold making the ultimate ai and it getting angry that it was gonna get deleted after giving birth to aura that's basically it. Nothing else that the party do really matters 😊
Seeing you fight Macha reminded me just how much I ended up neglecting the close combat and turned into a long spell caster/ healer. Constantly pulling from the menu and inventory. Loved the story of this game series but wow it had its clunks in combat
Yeah, whenever I play MMORPG I play tank since DPS and healers are squishy, but with AI that will use the move you tell them one time and resume back to normal attacks it's hard to rely on them in big boss fights. But I've heard GU has better combat so I'll give that a try later.
@@HardModeActivated GU is much more slick in its skill use and overall snappier. I have thoughts on Haseo but as a game I still enjoyed the trilogy and the prequel anime. You did a great job pulling the story together and giving it the narration to fill in the jumps

It has been a very long time since I beat this game. It was nice to get a short reminder of a classic.
