It's hard to watch without thinking that the young man in that coffin is someones son . They said goodbye and wished him well and be safe . Beautiful honor for one who has served his country..my uncle killed in WW II at the age of 20 was finally recovered and identified..76 years later was brought thru DFW then BWI for his Arlington farewell..RIP marine..you've earned your place in heaven..
I flew into DFW on an AA flight, from Newark, that was carrying a soldier home to his family. It was an evening flight and we were requested to allow the military escort to deplane prior to our (biz class) departure.... spent a hour or so observing and, in our own little way, respecting the solum ceremony and final reunion. RIP

Can't believe no one silenced the airport. Even though there are people out of the country, there's no reason why they can silence it and pay our respect to those who died for us!
Well one reason would be that it's an international airport and unfortunately they do often transport fallen soldiers home. Airports are updated minute by minute and it'd be impossible to halt activity for even 30 seconds. The PA systems just aren't wired to work that way. Besides, I think when you watch something like this happens, the noise around you fades for a bit and you realise that these fallen soldiers gave their life for our freedom. So - I guess the take away is are you acting in accordance to their sacrifice? This can mean multiple things and probably is a really heavy question for RUclips - but it's worth considering. Many good men and women died for our freedoms - are we using our freedom in a productive way that honors their sacrifice?
The American Airlines team at DFW is one of the best. In 2013 after my boyfriend had been killed in Afghanistan just 6 weeks prior, on Memorial Day I was presented with a flag from the American Airlines Team at a special presentation.
I know everything runs on a schedule, but there should be 10 min built into the schedule to allow this to happen with quietness. Everything should stop.
Unfortunately airports cannot stop from daily services because everything has to be in constant motion , the only time airports come to a standstill is when the POTUS is arriving or departing then that is the only time when everyone is unable to move anywhere due to the safety of the President. Even though there is a fallen soldier being moved out on the apron the passenger boarding announcements have to continue because other flights cannot be held back from departure cause that would screw up the airlines worldwide especially the inbound landing flights.
Joseph, I had already stated that "I know everything runs on a schedule." Your comment gave nothing most folks don't already know. The airlines know days in advance this is going to happen. SO there's that 10 minutes. They can set everything back 10 minutes, days in advance, so long as they are aware of the situation.
@@rodneyjordan6745 the airline's don't know days in advance. The airlines don't even know if they will get a body. It works on next scheduled flight to the destination needed and the origin may not be closest airport as the destination may not be serviced by the closest airport.

I hated doing military funerals when I was on active duty. I did 2 during my service luckily this was peace time during the 80s. Otherwise the circumstances of escorting the body back home to their families would be very painful for me personally. I got very lucky to have to never explain why I have failed and one of their sons have died. 8 days ago as of tonight my fiancee's brother took his own life while at Ft. Benning, GA for his Officer training and while working on becoming a US Army Ranger, an elite soldier. He seemed to have always been fine but must have had some PTSD along with other issues. It sucks. Last night was the prayer service and today at the actual service I was an honorary pallbearer. Wednesday at 5:30 we will get his body in Omaha. I am hoping that I see civilians and soldiers alike saluting him. We all already miss 2nd Lieutenant Adam B. Larson so much. He was quite the person, and a great one at that. In less than 2 years I have had a sudden cardiac arrest with a coma, my fiancee's dad died unexpectedly, and now her brother has been lost to the tragedy of suicide. So I am taking some time off to make sure my girl is okay. I cannot understand how my girl and her family must feel if, the would-have-been brother-in-law of Adam, can hardly keep composure at times. Sadly, Adam also leaves behind a wife and a 3 year-old cute little boy. Really hard to make sense of a situation with countless questions and zero answers...

Brint, World peace will never be bought with American Blood! In my long lifetime I can never remember a time when America was not at war with some other country! They caused war wherever they went and whenever they went. I can never remember America winning a war and at the present moment they are baying to start another world war.It is not surprising when the whole world can see the division which has been caused by the Trump, who has created the Disunited States of America. Bear in mind that the streets of every city in America are lined with "veterans", feeding out of refuse bins. if those "veterans" are incapable of taking care of themselves, is it any wonder that they cannot win a war!
