- A hero's welcome for the remains of 20-year-old Marine Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz. Schmitz's remains were brought to Baue Funeral Home near I-70 and Cave Springs after arriving at Lambert Airport.

I am british to, from Haverhill Suffolk and came to America through military. It literally tears me up when l see these and can only imagine how hard it must be to cope with this. I love the respect and the love the fallen soldiers get. And not to take away from the great ultimate sacrifices made by these fallen soldiers but as touching as it is, it seems that you have to be a fallen soldier to get respect here. Those who fought and survived are often disregarded and forgotten. Makes it seem like it is a sin to survive deployment.
To those who survived deployment and came back changed and broken, for all your great sacrifices i pay my respect and may you find peace in life after war.
