It’s lovely to get back to the absolute basics in life. Accepting the weather and enjoying every season. Enjoying locally produced food. Listening to the birds. Enjoying the sound of the trees in the wind, and the flowers and plants as they pass through the seasons. Breathing the fresh air and enjoying a good book. Life doesn’t get better than this. The difference between you and me Hannah is I didn’t discover the beauty of the absolute basics until I was much older than you. Enjoy every moment Hannah and please keep sharing.
I’m not a bread expert but I believe the yeast needs to be activated before you combine it with the rest of the ingredients. Another thing is the weather. The colder it is the longer you need the dough to rest. Try waiting a bit more to see if it rises and gets airy. I also recommend waiting about 30 minutes to an hour before you cut the bread because it’s still baking even after you take it out. It should still be a bit warm inside. I know hot fresh bread is the best so it’s hard to resist. Love watching your content on a Sunday. Very peaceful and cozy

When making bread i believe the yeast should rise in a separate small bowl- add warm water, pinch of sugar to help rise. When adding yeast mixture to flour also add warm milk, pinch of sea salt. Knead, form into ball in greased bowl and cover let rise. (This is for regular yeast not quick rise.)

What I struggle with the most at this time out year is the lack of natural light in the morning. The sunrise is at around 9 am here at the moment, so I don't feel like getting up/going outside at the beginning of the day, which damages my overall productivity levels. Can't wait for spring!

I’ve been to England, but I have not been to the Cotswolds. I’m living that through you. !❤ Would love to go back one day..I’m 72 so not likely but will live through my fabulous magazines. I make sourdough bread--you will need to do a second proof--shape your bread into a ball and place it in a proofing basket to rise again, then bake, then let it cool before cutting. There are tons of RUclips videos on bread making techniques. Once you get it down, it is such an amazing process. I went through many loafs before I learned the proper methods. Keep trying and good luck! Your dogs are so sweet!

Before going inro oven, shape bread and let prove for 1 hour or so until doubled in size. It's the first time knead for 10 minutes or so until soft and stretchy ❤. So beautiful! I can't believe how many animals are roaming around in the Cotswolds! I think you can bake bread in the pot without adding parchment paper. I love using it too, but I am more aware of the pfas in the product and I try to use it less.

Wow Hannah this video was soooo lovely. The aesthetics, the vibe, you talking so calmly ✨ And I absolutely agree with you about eating eggs. Ever since I went plant based I still eat the eggs from my friend‘s chickens. They are kept in his big garden and are living their best lives 🫶🏻
You cannot say you are plant based if you eat eggs; you are then a vegetarian. Does not matter where the eggs come from or if the chickens sat on a throne when they laid them! Bisous! x

So beautiful! I can't believe how many animals are roaming around in the Cotswolds! I think you can bake bread in the pot without adding parchment paper. I love using it too, but I am more aware of the pfas in the product and I try to use it less.

Love, love, love your videos as I view from Western Canada. I have only been to the UK once and spent 3 days in the Cotswolds. I plan to return in the next couple of years to do the Cotswolds walk.

Hi Hannah, Lovely video thank you! I'm interested in your take on adding eggs back into your diet. I agree it's much better when you can see the hens living happily but I still wonder what happens to the male chicks? No criticism, just something I'm also considering myself, trying to work out if there is an ethical way for me to eat eggs. X
