  • Here’s my Landmark Forum review.
Does everyone experience transformation as a result of the Landmark Forum? Absolutely not. As far as I can tell, it’s definitely not for everyone.
Personal Development, business growth, owning your shit… It’s all hard. Not everyone’s cut out for it.
I think the important thing if you’re deciding whether to do Landmark or not, is to think about why you wanna do it in the first place.
Who gets value out of it?
From the people that I was going through the experience with over the last few days, those who I think seemed to get the most out of it were:
** People who were successful, but had a sense deep down that “something” was missing. No matter how many goals they achieved, they always a feeling that it was never quite enough
** People who felt they didn’t have the best relationship possible with the people they cared about most in their lives
** People who were willing to accept that perhaps they didn’t know everything already, and people who were willing to admit that despite their success, they hadn’t got life totally figured out.
** People who were going through the motions (Job, house, car etc) but didn’t really know where there life was going beyond that.
** People who had experienced trauma in their past and never felt table to achieve what they wanted to achieve because of it.
** People who wanted to start their own businesses but didn’t really know how or hadn’t made much progress and couldn’t figure out why.
I’m sure there are plenty of others, but that’s what I observed.
I fit into the top category, I went into Landmark with the intention of finding happiness and fulfilment in my life, and I came out with that and much more.
Hope this review helps you too.

It did not work for me. I was 61 years old some nearly 6 months ago when I took it. Lots of the stuff we learn we really do know, and maybe someone who is very young might benefit from it. I think I was more angry at the time that it took, from 9 to 10 daily for three days, and for 795 dollars it was really a rip off. Meh girl friend got me into it, and perhaps the mistake was that I did it for her. By the third day I was just shut down with it, and got into a argument with one of the Landmark people, who later called me to apologize. My girl friend is really into it, and goes all over the country, at her expense. I have not seen in her the success that Landmark Forum is supposed to have, and neither her siblings. The most successful person of her brothers is the one who has not taken it. I think your twelve minute talk here is far better than what was offered, with for me 124 other people.

Thanks Dan for your insight into the Forum. I did this a few years back and whats interesting is how everyone gets something different from the experience. There are some that really identify with the processes involved and pick up the terminology and some that can’t get a grasp of it at all. Personally I don’t think you can set an outcome before doing the forum as what you may discover is within the realm of “you don’t know what you don’t know”. Even completing the Forum again 2 or 3 times it could open completely new meanings. I like that you found the “Be-Do-Have” thought pattern over the more traditional pattern of “Do-Have-Be” Unfortunately we are told from a young age that we must work hard(do) to make money(have) for happiness (be) when if fact Happiness is a chosen state of mind, so it should always come first in the equation. For me, listening for the little voice was very powerful. Even a week later I could hear my sub conscious talking. The Ice cream exercise was also powerful in that it really defined the difference between Choice and Decision. It opens up so many new possibilities to create a life of our own choice and accepting the past to be behind us and that the future is there to be written. Many people don’t understand that its a 3 part system. The Forum really teaches us that we are just meaning making machines, so we have the possibility of creating new meanings and not holding on to the old meanings. The Advanced course teaches us how language creates such an important role in how we make these meanings and the Self expression and leadership program is the practical side. I have been studying self improvement and various forms of Psychology all my adult life and see a lot of similarities of whats presented within the Forum that I’ve read in the past. So I don’t think I had quite the transformative experience. Yes , you were so right when you said this wasn’t for everyone, but going in with an open mind and fully participating can be life changing

@@dan-holloway no problem , Happy to put in my 10 cents worth. I'm sure you will enjoy and get a lot out of the Advanced course. Of course none of what you will hear is new as it borrows from many different philosophies. In the Landmark context though, it is very powerful. You will realise your true Act in life and understand how everything revolves around language, as its through language and its contexts that we make meaning of everything. I'll be interested to watch your review.....

Great video Dan. My career and business took a dive, my relationships with people were dysfunctional. What I got from the LF was, I got see see what was in the way of.having my career and business taking off and having the kind of relationships that I really wanted. I got to see that I was in the way of having elevated effectiveness in all areas of my life. The one thing I didnt expect was that I would reconnect with my dad. I hadnt spoken with him in years and we didnt have a healthy dad and son relationship, in the LF I got to work out that an incident that happened when I was 10 years (between dad and I) was the beginning of the end of dad and I being really connected and having a loving relationship. Im so glad I got to contact my dad asking forgiveness, he was amazing, not long after dad passed .....the time we got to spend together was amazing.

Thanks for this video. I did the Landmark Forum 24 years ago as a grumpy 19 year old with more attitude than I knew what to do with. I grew up in Amish country, in Pennsylvania, and all I wanted to do was leave. My parents got divorced when I was 15, and I blamed them for the fact that I was still living at home, afraid to even move into my college dorm. My stepmom had done the Forum, and she encouraged my dad to have me do it. I went along with it because it was a day off school. So what did it do for me? My life trajectory was dramatically altered. The road I was going down led to me never ever leaving, getting married young, and being resentful. Probably taking a "safe" job that didn't fulfill me. Having a passport that didn't have any stamps in it. And constantly looking out at this life that I wanted, and never going for it. And blaming my parents and my circumstances for all of it. After Landmark I moved to Los Angeles where I got a great job. Then I had a chance to move to London. Then NYC. And Nashville. Then back to Los Angeles. Where I met my now-husband. Along the way my dad became my best friend, and we took a daddy-daughter road trip across the country, and we talk on the phone on the daily. And now I live in Andalucia, in Spain, where I write, have the longest continuously running indie history podcast, and model for my 6 year old daughter what it looks like to chase your dreams. (oh, and she's already been to New Zealand, Morocco, London, Iceland and Paris, and she's fluent in Spanish - we live a nomadic life filled with adventure and laughter, and next year when she's old enough for school in the US we will likely settle back down for her to be stable in school).
And back in 2003 when my dad and I took our road trip, we talked about everything, and got complete in pretty much every area. Six months later he had heart surgery. When I sat by his hospital bed, holding his hand, I was thinking about what I still wanted to say to him, and there really was nothing there but love. Nothing that was unsaid between us. All that was there was the love. He just got diagnosed with cancer, and he's tough and fighting it, but he's also 78, so it's going to be a journey for him. When we talk now, again, there's nothing unsaid. Just love. And that's a wonderful feeling. I love the hell out of my dad, and he knows, and I know how much he loves me, and we just love each other. That alone is worth a thousand times the price of the Forum.
So yeah, Landmark is good stuff. I've been an Introduction Leader, and I would hope that everybody in the world can have the sorts of relationships that me and my dad have, and have the life that I have now. Where even though I have challenges, I have the tools to turn them around and make things happen, and I am no longer a victim of my circumstances, but I'm more powerful than them.
Oh, and I got a new passport in 2010, and I'm fairly certain that when it renews in 2020 I will have run out of pages. So yay.
Thanks for making your video :)

I had a phenomenal experience doing the Landmark Forum. I knew that I resented my Dad based on various events that happened in the past (he is an alcoholic), was clear that he wasn't the same person anymore (he had been in recovery and therapy for about 4 years at this stage), and our relationship wasn't improving. So I took The Forum and was open to considering that why our relationship wasn't improving was due to me. In the Forum I saw that I've decided at a fairly young age that we were never going to have a good relationship (I can't trust him. He doesn't love me. I'm not good enough). It blew my mind to see so clearly what was having our relationship stay the same - me being resentful and upset. Had a 10 minute conversation with him, using the coaching from The Forum, and it all disappeared. My relationship with him now is a 180 turn.

I understand your review of the Landmark experiences perfectly. I did my Landmark education about twenty years ago and it was transformative for me. I should note to any one thinking about doing Landmark, I was one of those who at the end of the three day intensive workshop didn’t feel that much had changed for me. I found it all very interesting, but I didn’t have any noticeably great breakthrough during those three days. So I left a little bit disappointed. But then about two or three days later I started to feel the transformation, and I felt it like a bolt of lightning striking me. It was strong, powerful, obvious, and yes, transformative. So, sometimes, it takes a bit longer for the results to kick in. It did for me. But to this very day the Landmark education experience has remained a most powerful transformative experience that has greatly helped me be a better, happier, calmer, more successful person. Craig…

Thank you for this. I did Landmark Forum back in the 1990s and yes, it did make a difference in my life. I set 3 goals and all 3 were achieved, and one was thought to be unachievable. Also, it improved my relationship with my parents tremendously. Your review is like a small refresher of what I probably forgot over the last 25 years. Yes, you have to be ready to change, to become the person who achieves the goal you want to achieve. I still remember many different amazing experiences from that Forum. Funny one was that they forced us to come back from the bathroom break on time. This was a lesson in accountability. One of my hardest tasks...

I did Landmark last weekend and bailed mid way through the morning of day 3. I don't know if it was because the 'coach' was rogue, but I found his methods brutally cruel, confronting and frankly, completely nonsensical. The shaming inflicted on hapless participants who dared to share their 'transformations' was unforgiveable, and the psychobabble and deliberate screwing with minds beyond belief. I'm still reeling from the dark energetic hit. Hideous. Not only that but the amount of time wasted on repeatedly and ever more fervently hard selling participants to get family and friends to come along to the Tuesday evening event was unacceptable. The final straw for me came when one participant was told she didn't 'get the Forum' because despite telling her husband of her transformation, she'd been unable to move him sufficiently to get him to join her at the Tuesday evening event. When she dared to offer the response that she accepted he could make his own choices, she was told she'd failed. The so-called coach would hear no objection. I know some people get a lot out of this thing, but my advice to anyone even remotely considering it is to do thorough due diligence before you get into it. Do not just take the recommendation of friends or family because you may be very badly affected by it. If you're even remotely energetically sensitive, stay WELL away. There are gentler and equally effective ways to bring about transformation in your life.

Hey Alexandra, thanks for sharing your perspective.
This is an interesting conversation, because I had a couple of challenges throughout my experience (Which is still ongoing by the way, I’m doing SELP and organising a connection based event in London on the 8th of Feb for 200-350 people as my community project). One time I was particularly challenged was in the Advanced Course, I experienced a LOT of resistance to a specific distinction around integrity and it took a lot to look within myself and identify where in my past it was coming from.
I can see a very similar opportunity to make a powerful breakthrough in your language here too. For example, it’s clear there’s a lot of emotional charge in how you experienced it, isn’t there? “Hapless participants”, “psychobabble”, “screwing with minds”, “dared to offer”, “so-called coach”, all paints a picture of the lens/filter through which you were viewing the information you were receiving through your senses - Eyes, ears etc. (Before you continue, this isn’t about “making you wrong” by the way…)
None of that is “what happened”. What happened is ‘he said stuff, she said stuff, she walked up to the front, he said stuff, she said stuff, she sat down, he said stuff, he walked around, he walked up to the front, he said stuff’ and on and on right?
Then different people experienced the “what happened” in different ways, and layer different meanings on top of “what happened” based on one thing, and one thing only:
      Their past experience.
So the question then, is “what is it within your past that triggered you to create this much emotional charge within this experience?”. Because the only variable between one person perceiving it one way, and another person perceiving it another way, is the person doing the perceiving. And that person doing the perceiving (Or more accurately, the “self” doing the perceiving) is only made up from the views, beliefs, values, thoughts, feelings and programming that is only and can only be derived from their past experience, right?
Again just to clarify, this is not about trying to “make you wrong” here, or convince you that “the Forum is great”. It’s exactly the opposite. It’s an opportunity to highlight a distinction that’s outside of right or wrong, because right or wrong can only exist from within meanings that we create within our past experience. The whole point here is to use this conversation as an opportunity for you to identify where the triggering’s coming from, and let go of something in your past that is creating the emotional charge that was used to paint over this experience of “what happened”. Because it had to come from somewhere, and it wasn’t in that room.
When I was triggered in the Advanced Course around integrity, my internal programming (created from my past) was screaming at me that “I don’t need this, I don’t need to believe ‘their view of the world’, I’m doing just fine without going through Landmark, I’m better than the Advanced Course leader who’s been doing it for 30 years (Yea, ridiculous right?), I can make up my own version of what it means to be in integrity that works for me” and on and on and on.
But when I was able to wrench myself outside of it (Which took a monumental effort to overcome my own ego), and view it from outside of my “lens from the past”, I identified a major superiority aspect of my character that was created when - as a little kid - I put my hand up in school and got an answer wrong. That aspect had kept me trapped in one way of “being” throughout my entire life, which was previously invisible to me.
Once I saw it, I could begin to see the triggering happening within my own head, step outside it, and then view the rest of the Advanced Course through an un-charged lens, and experience incredible value that had previously been invisible to me and also make some major breakthroughs that had previously been impossible for me.
Alexandra, what’s the lesson here for you? Where’s the emotion coming from, and where’s the breakthrough for you that’s waiting to happen? From experience - it’s probably worth looking in this area: What was your initial intention or area of your life that you wanted to improve, when you first signed up to do the Forum?
      Hope that helps.

Hi Alexandra. Please keep thinking for yourself - of course converts can be convinced that any negative experience is all about them. This is a sophisticated process that works on some very intelligent people. Keep the "lens" which tells you that shaming people publicly is problematic, and stay away from the "lens" which tells you that questioning this behaviour makes you "uncoachable".

Just got spiritually abused out of 1200$ after a landmark session. Pitted my wife against me, questioned my morality for having hesitation for wanting to commit, proceeded to ask what childhood trauma I had when I was 3 that was preventing me from committing. wife apologized to me after we had time to reflect, as she praised my wife’s behavior as morally good for wanting to commit. I could see my wife was getting anxious and agitated with my resistance for wanting to commit on the scene, so to hold the peace I agreed to sign up. Strange thing man… strange strange thing.
Said I felt pressured, the staff stated “do you hear yourself right now? You know you’re hurting everyone here saying you are being pressured right now” proceeded to say “what happened when you were three years old that is holding you back in life right now? What trauma when you were three is holding you back?” Literally the first time I’ve talked to this lady, all the red tail signs of spiritual abuse. Freaking weird bro

Great video! Landmark's courses basically teach you how to make certain distinctions in your life around things that are there, but that you are not aware of. (As you said, you don't know what you don't know.) Some of them seem so obvious that when you get them, you want to face-palm yourself.
The one that made the biggest impression on YOU seems to be distinguishing the past -- as you discovered, until that happens, you can get stuck in the vicious circle you described, with the past in your future and you're trying to live into THAT instead of something more inspiring. So now you can BE HAPPY in the PRESENT and live into a future that's given by whatever you SAY, instead of what used to be given by your past. BooYAH! :-)
But there were at least a dozen other distinctions presented that you may not immediately recall. That's why Landmark offers a 10-session follow-up seminar for free, as a means of refreshing things that were taught so they're not totally lost. Because conversations disappear.
So by memorializing your experience in this video of the biggest thing you got out of your Forum, that will help keep that conversation alive for you. After attending your Forum In Action Seminar, I invite you to make additional videos about the difference the other distinctions made for you that you may not remember right now. And I wholeheartedly encourage you to commit to taking the entire Curriculum for Living. You'll be very happy you did!

My experience with Landmark: I'm 70. I did the Forum when I was 45. My life is defined by that choice. Before the Landmark courses, After the Landmark courses. Incredible. I threw myself into all of it because I love this stuff. And it WORKS, if, as you said, you're willing to be open, take it into your life and put it into practice. I thought I had great relationships so that was not one of my goals. Afterwards my relationship with my family and all relationships afterward took huge leaps forward. "You don't know what you don't know." I had no idea it could be this great so I didn't think to ask for it. My work as an artist. Meeting my perfect soulmate and creating a loving relationship. Becoming an artist and gallery owner. (huh? Me?) I could go on and ON... Does it last? oh, ya - if you do the work of it. Did my mind magically quit giving me fits of fear and angst? No, not so far. But I can watch it do it's thing and take steps past that.

I did Landmark for 15 years and I achieved great things with it, won awards, travelled the world so on and so on. But it also taught me that my feelings didn't mean anything, that being tired was "just a conversation" and generally discount my own subjective experience. This let me down a very dark path that took many years of therapy to learn to trust my own experience again and realize that everything in life is not just language. I still use a lot of what I learned in these courses but in terms of psychology they are woefully outdated. There is a lot of encouragement to neglect the physical needs of your mind and body and a complete rejection of everything we have learned around trauma science and healing trauma in the last couple of decades. I feel like it needs to be rehashed on 2020 science. Right now it is still stuck in 1980.

I did it in 2000. I can't say I really got much out of it. I certainly didn't have any breakthroughs that others claim to have had. I think I went for the wrong reasons. I was encouraged to sign up by someone close who had done it and I did it for them. I do recall the big finale - 'life is empty and meaningless' and I think some of the content has merit looking back on it. I don't think it's unique to Landmark but it's been packaged in a particular way. They use a lot of jargon like 'running rackets' - can't recall what that referred to. There's your 'winning formula' which is how you do things to achieve goals or approach things, something along those lines - it's been 21 years. Also, we 'make others wrong' to make ourselves right. I got a bit suckered in to telling friends about it (and to whom I later apologised when I started reading some negative things about it) and I really felt there was a lot of pressure to recruit and stay with the organisation. Be aware that after completing the forum while you think you 'get it', you won't truly 'get it' until you fork out more money for the Advanced Course and then even more for the leadership course. Some people certainly come out super motivated and transformed and go on to do great things. Others can also get sucked into the organisation and the jargon and it can alienate them from their non-Landmark friends who don't 'get it'.

I’m glad to hear that you found what you were looking for. Also I realised as well that many times we know things at a conscious level, but we don’t really understand it. And then all of a sudden we do and it changes the way we look at life.
I realised that I have some sort of fear towards getting what I’m asking for. Because as soon as I started getting some traction, I stopped. I needed to refocus and realign so I can realise what I was actually doing. I know that’s my subconscious trying to keep me in my comfort zone. I’m working on overcoming that.
Any advices with that? Other than just go for it. 😅

    • @dan-holloway
      @dan-holloway  5 лет назад +1

Hey Oana, thanks for reaching and sharing that. Yeah, subconscious blocks such as fear hold us back all and it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what they are because there are in our subconscious! Increasing your awareness is key, meditation is key, always taking small steps towards your goals despite feeling the fear/discomfort is key. This in time helps you change your perception of the fear/discomfort to instead feeling and perceiving it as an exciting step forward. This is a necessary feeling to feel in order for you to know that you’re growing and evolving into the person you want to become. Without it, we are just standing still :)

I appreciate your positive review of Landmark. When you began your review, it seemed you might discuss positive/negative aspects of the Forum. While you enjoyed your experience, there are many serious aspects of the Forum that can be harmful for people. Instead, you suggest that those who don't "experience transformation" fail to do so as the result of their personal inability to "get the wisdom." I'm glad you benefited from the experience. But Landmark is definitely a "mixed bag," a fruit salad of sorts of ideas/lingo/philosophies/expectations that are NOT fruitful or constructive for many. You tag the program as one for people who are "open-minded" and seeking transformation...fit for people with the "right expectations." And you cast those who don't approve of Landmark as inferior, close-minded people. Buyer beware. There are many problems with Landmark that are imbedded in the program/material/presentations. Glad you came away with positive feelings. But this program is seriously flawed.

Can you please post videos about how is your life now?
How does it look like after 1.5 years? After 2 years.
I invite you to do this because in my case after every year the experience was bigger and bigger. Every year I was "getting it" more and more.
And is veeeery important for the "negative" talkers and the rest of the naysayers to be present that if it did not work for them might be that they rejected the distinctions the entire course, they did not let themselves "taken" by the distinctions, they did not train in the distinctions or they did not have enough patience so that the technology reveals the transformation in their lives.
No matter what they say, we (and we are millions, not hundreds or a cult) are the living proof that the Landmark Forum and the other Landmark programs work.

Yes, I am a Landmark Graduate! The journey definitely helped me to identify the driving stories of my life - and why even my strengths can run me off the road to what I want. I think having experienced and learned new distinctions, one should be with a partner who lives in that conversation space as well. It's all about responsibility, being the cause for what you want to see happen in your life (business, relationship, parenting, etc) and creating the future you desire right now by BEING IT. Don't wait for someone else to be it first and definitely don't blame anyone or anything for what characterizes your life (business, relationships, parenting, etc).

This video was very succinct and accurate to my own experience in Landmark. I started my weekend thinking "Well, why don't I just go to therapy to experience this?" And I could! I still might! Landmark is not a replacement for detailed, professional, trained mental health guidance and I think that's where a lot of people get confused. It's a highly-concentrated uprooting of your own conception of self. It is entirely up to YOU what you get out of the Forum and, just like Real Life, it helps you as much as you let it. It doesn't offer you answers, it just gives you the space to question WHY you have gone through life the way you do. Whatever you do with that space is up to you (Though they make it very clear that What You Should Do is spend more money on their services.)
On that note, it's a valuable service that SHOULD BE free. The only part I'm not okay with is that its whole deal is pulling in new members to make them pay for the service. Totally skeezey move and a big part of what makes it unappealing to most people. At least therapy isn't so blatant about wanting your money lol

Excellent share thanks. I did the Forum in Atlanta as a refresher course recently since it has been so long ago from est influence. I did the est training in 1980 with the Houston Center and it pulled the rug out from under me as for as my views. I can understand why some have so much difficulty with it then. Now the Forum has been arranged so it will be user friendly and not cause so many to loose it. I am attempting to get the staff of a local Doctor to have his staff enroll in the forum so it will benefit in the operations of the State of Tennessee. Tennessee Senior Centers do not allow talking religion and politics and I thought it would be the tool for seniors. Seniors are deeply embedded in the ways they were brought up and I see it to be a difficult path to pursued them to take that step. This country really really would benefit if more people would take the step in enrolling in the forum. Even the elderly would benefit in their years of loneliness when their partner has passed away.

Gidday mate, I did the forum and other landmark programs in Auckland nz over 10 years ago and had powerful experiences while doing the forum and follow on programs, just want to give my opinion about doing the forum, I think if your a human being then you can get a lot from the experience, but if your an alien then mayb not, I found the aliens very closed down and full of excuses, so we’re bored, tired or felt ripped off for paying for something that wasted their time, just wonder if they are like that in their day to day lives, anyway one of the breakthroughs I got was how we are only ever two ways of being LOVE or FEAR, unfortunately we live mostly out of fear, how powerful would it be if we could all live from LOVE

Wherever you are in your life, even by merely learning the distinctions of the LF, to realize how your past is in your future and affects your present, learning about the world of possibilities and essentially learning about Landmark technology to get completed in conversations for example, can really benefit everyone. That is partly why Landmark says that 98% of participants benefit from it.

Dan you are using the word ”transformation”. It is misused.
There is very little chance of anybody becoming transformed in Landmark.
And, surely there are many people who believe that they are, and will fight to prove it.
They don’t have the slightest idea what transformation is.
What people get in Landmark are changes and improvements that probably would not have happened if they did
    not do the Forum/Advanced/Whatever.
Transformation is like that caterpillar that turns into a butterfly. NOTHING less.Transformation is like a bicycle that turns into an orange. NOTHING less. Trans > Form.
All else are just changes. (There is no such thing as “change” - all there is is now, and not even that…)
Waking up from the matrix dream is what it was all about, NOT about self improvements…
Enlightenment is the word here and to get that one would have to get lucky or do est.
Ooops, est does not exist anymore.
Anyway one might get enlightened only by mistake, or through wanting to be free more than ANYTHING and by being
willing for ‘his’ ego to be 100% demolished and burned to ashes. Nothing else.
The whole purpose of this work originally was 100% enlightenment and nothing else.
All those extras like improvements and loving relationships and improved communication and talking to your parents again and all else were JUST small side benefits.
    Where is est?...
In this world of evil selfish little people running lawsuits against anybody in order to make big money there is no chance of it ever coming back.
Maybe if one could come up with a lot of money and an ironclad contract so that no one can sue them…And we need Werner to run it again…
In order to go all the way, one MUST go all the way, and there is no such thing in the Forum. They would not dare, and anyway the leaders have to go all the way themselves first, and they probably already have the belief that they have… or not
It is all empty and meaning anyway. This included. So it isn’t. Or is it?

I'm typing this before knowing if I'll be watching your full video, so keep that in mind. I've done several courses with the landmark and volunteered but they call it some other term. I've spent countless dollars and hours with them. It is not original information. It is overpriced information in a strange format with slightly unethical marketing. I've had many bad experiences. That's my take. Here I am a year plus later still vaguely mad about it. (I am probably at least $3500 and many hours down the drain). Bad experiences. Honestly, relatively traumatic. They discount real experiences, pretend to know you, discourage free thought, demand things of you, market for 30% plus of the time, and it's just horrible. Really. You have to be naive and blind to not see that they're marketing an overpriced product in a cult MLM scheme. I was about 20, or 21, at the time and did not do any research upon coming in. It's not a good thing.
when you go in, if you want to and you sign up, you're signing up for a sort of overt mob mentality wherein you are appreciated if and when you adhere - adherence is a universal behavior in Landmark. This suggested "behavior" does not account for individual experiences and nuances or even DANGERS they just tell you to GO and do it. It can be useful - or awakening - but you can find this information in a safer platform, at a much lower cost, sans the horrible marketing, cost draining brainwashing, relatively easily.
Do your research, I'd say. If you do - this is likely part of it - They employ MLM tactics. The person who invited you was TOLD to invite you.
I thought that it would be fun to find out. It was kind of fun, I know how stupid the world of marketing is now. Thank God for it

@@dan-holloway i was 'tricked' into a Landmark introduction by a friendly couple. Lovely people and I only have fond memories of them. Funnily enough, that friend is in such financial position that they don't need to work for a living. His problem was that he did not have a goal in life and was squandering his money. Landmark helped him to set goals and have meaning. He flips houses for fun, now. Not for profit but for fun. Which is great. For him. when I went in, i had no idea what it was going to be like. I was kept in a room for 3 hrs and there were two instructors, just talking and talking and talking. About how great Landmark was. After a while(no drinking, no breaks) they brought in someone else to basically summarize everything that was said by me and she tried to convince me to go to the ATM and take out 360 pounds. 180 pounds deposit and 180 for the monthly fee Eventhough, i hardly had a pot to piss in. I did not have that kind of money but 'you can't pay too much for happiness'. Then my friends took me out to eat(knowing I had no money) and my friend loudly asks:"SO ARE YOU GONNA CHIP IN?" It was so embarassing and I remember thinking:'i don't want to be like this, maybe I should do it'. In hindsight, i could have said:' nope, I'm going home'. But I was so hungry after those three hours. It was NLP and trickery. And if there is one thing I hate; it is to be manipulated into forking over money. Or manipulated into a headspace. Change comes from within, not through deception and force. I'm allergic to it. I got a call the next day from one of the 'handlers'. I said I was not interested and thanked him for his time. I THANKED HIM! For keeping me stuck in a room and wanting me to give them money😂. Now i see you in this video talking about; 'it's not for everybody(wjich triggers emotions of inadequacy) and you should be clear about why you want to do landmark(i was blind sided and tricked!) Anyway, the guy on the phone then turned agressive and used the Gish-gallop to convince me that this is what I wanted and tgat I had already committed. It became very uncomfortable and I hung up. I called my friend and she just started talking in Landmark-lingo:"You are upset because you choose it. You are your word". I'm more than happy to improve. But I prefer to do that from a place of honesty and mutual respect. Not through NLP, deception and sales techniques.

But for some reason, I couldn't get a gallery to show my African American art to save my life, back in the '90s.
However, I raised the loot to do Landmark, and instead of getting "my" work into a gallery, I "curated" an exhibition of 30 artists who also had trouble getting into galleries. I never learned how to do that from a book.
These days, my work currently sells for 15 - 40K, so I guess now "I'M" overpriced! LOL
