Depends on how you define "healthier". I used to use the "real thing", until I had a closer look. The homemade version doesn't have preservatives etc., but she just tripled her calorie intake, while nearly mainlining pure fat. After a year or two of that, her body fat will be up, and her cholesterol will be dangerously high.
@@johangambleputty7658 fat is nowhere near that bad for you, especially since this is something you use to cut coffee with. Nobody drinks pure creamer. You are acting as if this is a drink you pour a whole glass of for yourself in the morning with nothing else
@@carolutley6523 the stuff "from a factory" is from the same plants that process the milk. Pure milk just gets homogenised and pasteurised, the creamer is milk with sugar, extracts, and some preservatives added.
@@sharonroberts397 heavy whipping cream is over $5 for a qt at Aldi. Pure extracts are expensive as well but I'm not really counting the price of that so much because you can get multiple uses out of one bottle. She did say you could use milk. I also like when you make them yourself you're using pure ingredients and does not have a lot of preservatives. You can also adjust the recipe to use less sugar by using less of the sweetened condensed milk and add a bit more of the milk or heavy whipping cream. Sounds delicious!
I started doing this a couple weeks ago: warming the ingredients together means that it will mix better, and you can then also use spices to infuse into the mixture, I used a cinnamon stick this time.
If you add sugar to your coffee and/or tea, there are other flavoring additions you can do. Slice open a vanilla pod & place it in a jar with sugar to get vanilla sugar. Buy high quality cinnamon sticks. Add sugar to a container that’s tall enough to hold 1-2 cinnamon sticks. I zest or finely grate the cinnamon stick(s) to better bring the scent & flavor out before dropping them into a jar of sugar then giving a shake.
