Y62 Patrol Warrior - How Would DASH Build It? 🧐🤔

- The Y62 Warrior has now shown its face. Let’s say Nissan gave us a call at DASH OffRoad or 4x4 DNA and asked how we would build it if we had the opportunity 🤔. We’ll, for a bit of fun I’m going to take on the challenge and this is how we would go about it I reckon

"Alcantara" is the fabric you were thinking about.
Not sure what's the obsession with a TIL.
Give me a TI with a lift, front and rear bars with a tow point, winch, 5 seats, more comfortable front seats, exhaust, wheels/tyres, supercharger and vinyl flooring.
I personally don't need anything too fancy with the sound system.
Delete woodgrain and chrome.
A more basic unit specifically built for adventure.
Picking my Warrior up this week. Agree some missed opportunities but to get some modifications and still get the manufacturers warranty is a bonus.
I couldn’t afford $160k straight up. I had to buy mine and slowly build it up. I think you over did it. I like the idea of ti as a base model. I think maybe keep it to a $120,000 car. Cheaper then a VX 300 and it would still crush the competition. People can still add front lockers and stuff later if they do choose.
Totally agree mate
On a side note, I just returned to Vic from Alice Springs watching the Finke Desert Race and let me tell you, it’s mega bucks 4X4 heaven, and there’s plenty of Y62’s out and about now compared to previous years. Go the 62’s.
I don’t mind it as it is, keep the cost low and customise the vehicle to your needs .
we all use our cars differently.
Interesting to see what they’ve done to the suspension in detail.
Thanks for the content Dash 👍
I agree. The cost of cars is getting out of control. It's good to see they've come up with some substantial improvements, even more so on the 2024 version but still keeping the price to a realistic number. Not everyone has $150 -$200k to put into a vehicle. I definitely don't.
patrol looks so good with 50mm lift
I wouldn’t mind a off the shelf custom option that I don’t have to think about.
Get on it Dash!
Pick up a warrior this week, lift is 29mm suspension, 21mm tyres. Agree with your comments about the bar, a missed opportunity for sure. Be interested if the rear springs are suitable for air bag assist for towing, mind you I only have a light rig to tow.
Yeap wondering about airbag assist also 😊
Premcar has engineered the Y62 for Nissan preregistration thus will be road legal nation wide.
Was waiting for ur response lol, I think the warrior was a joke! It will be interesting to see what they charge for it but if I was going to buy new I wouldn’t buy a warrior. I’d be way more comfortable having u build it pre reg with all the fruit. It has got me stuffed why u haven’t been called up to do these! Matti(ODIN62)🤘🏽
I don’t have the money for any of this, but when I win the lottery I’ll definitely get this done through you!
Regarding your question “ would you spend 160k+/- (approximately 107k in here in the us) for a fully done up Y62” under full warranty, YES! Us Americans love our factory done, off road ready Trucks/SUV’s. Nissan is really missing out in the US. We have Pro4x Titans, Frontiers and the Rockcreek Pathfinder but nothing to compete with the Raptors, ZR2’s and Ram TRX’s. Thanks for all the great videos and info!!
Look forward to the release of the Y62 'Dash - Samurai Package'!
As much as i would love a patrol my budget wouldn't stretch that far i will have to stick with my navara a while longer it does a good job for us.
Looking forward to that head unit review David!!
Soon 👌
Me too!
You said it yourself (by mistake), you should just offer a Y62 'Samurai' pack, that will soon tell you if people want it.
My parents have had their white Warrior for a month now and dad loves it, but my short mother is too scared to drive it.
It's a lot bigger than the turbo diesel Range Rover Sport she's been driving for years and she's refusing to part with it...... first world problems right there.
The Warrior was bought to tow a 24ft caravan which I'm sure it will do easily with only a front bar upgrade really necessary.
We looked at your Dash bar but there isn't a hooped version so they're going with a well known one of those, starts with R, ends with R.
DASH indeed has a hooped bar, you can see this on my car or the SAMURAI. Also, you’ll need to do something with the rear springs and airbags if you wish to to a big van. It’s all on our website
Depends if there is a supercharger installed also as an option that can be covered under warranty through Nissan 😊
At the end of the day it’s lipstick on a pig, 5psi more on rear tyre 😂😂😂laugh out loud I
My dad bought a grey patrol and every patrol I see on the road are grey. Lol also the warrior exhaust is awkward position if you're planning to put a e-step on it.
I thought they were going to be about 100.000 there’s no way I would 160 on a current patrol. Pretty sure they was a small gvm upgrade there aswell
The only reason I would buy one if it came out with everything you said David would be the 5 year warranty that would go with it, but as long as it wasn’t Premcar building it. It has to come from a company that knows the car and builds these cars yo customer needs like 4x4 DNA / Dash off-road. Huge missed opportunity Nissan, yeah they will sell a few but that would be to those who wouldn’t take it off road or tow.
Well said 👌
Yes
$160k would be way out of what most of us could afford to put upfront - I have spent almost $40k in extras on a 2022TI and it's nearly there.......
David has somebody bought their Warrior in for you to inspect now? It'll be good to see what you think of the final product.
I’ve seen one at the 4x4 show. None have come into work yet
No wouldn’t spend that much on a Patrol nor LC.
Nek minut, Dash off road buys bulk Y62's mods them up and warrants them as a ready made weapon.
Who needs approval from Nissan?
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission 😉
I think all terrain tyres look better than 4wd tyres but thats just me
My understanding that 50mm lift from dealer is definitely legal rather than off market right ?
I’m not sure 🤔. The dealer didn’t lift it, was Premcar. Maybe Nissan signs off as the manufacturer 🤷♂️
@@DASHOffRoadeah I think Nissan will treat it as oem one. So we can potentially add extra 50mm on top and still street legal if we don’t care about 2m height limit 😂
Wouldn’t a factory released vehicle sold through dealer mean that is a base and you can add the 50mm lift to that.
Negative sorry
Could you do a build walk through of the Blue Patrol you started for the exhaust sound?
Haha, that’s my car, there is many videos on this car
@@DASHOffRoad Roger, it’s perfect!!! I’ll search for em!! Keep up the awesomeness
I’ll wait for Lexus GX500(?)
Hello Mate , ur carz build is amazing 🥰💯. How much did it cost including all the costs ?
Hmmm. Look at the price of the car, then double it 🤑. But don’t tell the Mrs
@@DASHOffRoad Lol 😂, plz tell even i want to buy it one day when I will be having some money.
I wouldn't buy one @ 160K , you mentioned the diff drop or lack of but what about the larger diameter tyres , they are getting close to 35" , most of us that do tow are better off with the std size tyres for performance and fuel economy , I doubt the gearing has been changed with the Warrior .
If it’s fully backed by warranty I’d probably pay that.
It would have to be a TIL though.
Because it’s registered and placarded with that lift/tyres, wouldn’t that mean it’s legal, and indeed you can put even more lift on it from a legal standpoint?
Ar, no. But nice try
Opportunity lost to really set the patrol warrior apart. . . . . . They could do it with the navara. . . . . Somewhere in between would turn people from a 300
Who does a 30mm lifted spring?
They should of done front locker, interior upgrade and a few more tougher look touches and i would i come back to the 62 in a heart beat and a factory blower or turbo fully sick mode
The warrior screams "design committee". It's just not sexy or cool, especially those wheels!
What you described is really cool, but I don't think many could justify the cost. I think most would pick either the nice luxury touches or the increased off-road capability, but not both. There would be a small percentage though that would do it I reckon.
David the fact that premcar is even doing something like this that late in the game after the y62 has been released (i think 10 years or something) is a bit of a worry, i would be hoping that Nissan has a new model happening and about to release it and not keeping the old series and just added a different number on the back of series.
I reckon the 62 still has a few years left in it. Nissan love to flog the horse to a total death
@@DASHOffRoad yes but they also don't like to let the cat out of the bag early
@@DASHOffRoadyou mean the GTR right 😂
I don’t tow mate. It’s ok , I won’t bash ya😂
No way I’d spend 160 on a patrol even with the extras mentioned. The vehicle is too old.
Good video but you mentioned “ Dodge Ram”. Dodge don’t make Ram’s David. Ram split from Dodge and became a seperate brand and manufacturer in Oct 2009 under then FCA ( now Stellantis ) and production was moved to ex Chrysler production plants . The last Dodge made Ram was the 3 rd generation that left the production line in early 2010.
I didn’t know that, thank you 🙏
Would it be chipped and dynoed in that price
It’s all theoretical at this point
...🍻...
I so want to flog the warrior down the highway and never take it offroad...
Warrior X No Deal. So lame for the $. $160k out of the box would be great because any finance you use will be part of the vehicle value. I know lots of people are using cash but for those of us who financed part of their vehicle purchase it would be a more affordable way to get into the extras.
Good point 👌
Don't forget about the extra LCT you'll have to pay for the privilege of the included accessories.
@Steve C very good point also...but im wondering about the insurance angle > if it's the sale price /value then insurance companies HAVE to insure your for the purchase price. After market they can choose their limit of liability....
Nissan should commission you to do the Final Edition.
LOL oh please
Nissan Marketing Team still has a lot to learn. They seam to have the mediocrity bug like Toyota.
I think I am the Nissan marketing team, all be it off the books 🤪
@@DASHOffRoad Yeah pretty much, you probably know more about there product than they do.
WTF Is with the 13 yr old infotainment system!
i would but if it had a TD i would ....
Slug box diesel ?? No thanks
Let's be honest, Nissan just stole all Dash Offroad approaches on y62.
160k for all that is cheap really, you'll spend 50K more on a 70 series and although it's a completely different proposition, the Patrol would be a great family fourbie. Comming from someone that has a 'built' 70.
No I wouldn't pay 160k
Dash Warrior would be an awesome bit of kit for $160K, that is also functional for all aspects. Nissan have lost a great opportunity.
LOL
Dash would be able to do it cheaper and better.
LOL
I still think the GU is the best patrol ever made..good engine, good transmission, good driveline
If it had a good quality cummins , sure .
I think that engine would be too heavy in a 62
