    I hear a flute, but I don't think there were any flutes scored in this concerto.

      Yes, you heard that right, there is a flute. Flutes have been part of the standard orchestra since the middle of the 18th century, so it would be rather remarkable if they had been missing from a piece originally written in the 1790s. Anyway, the score most definitely calls for one flute !

      @@unheardbeethoven5027 @Unheard Beethoven the fact that there was a flute in the orchestra doesnt mean Beethoven used it all the time, especially not in in such a relative small, slow movement....he sure didn't want to use it here. Strings, 2 horns and 2 bassoons, that's it.

    It doesn't sound like Beethoven at all ! But it sounds good !
