Unfortunately those negative voices are always more persistent than I can counter them. For me it helps to put on some of my favorite music though, so I can dance through my tasks 💃🏻

I have used shows most recently to counter the negative noise. In the past 6mo I have worked extra hard at the positive inner voice thing…. talking to the negative side like it’s any other bully, really helps.. that and reminding myself that anything worth having takes time.. baby steps 🖤🖤🖤🖤

I just repeat, ‘ i’m a queen, I am a baddie’ over and over until the task is done

I was cleaning the kitchen a few weeks ago and got VERY frustrated. My head was full of the voice I berate myself with, and it was so angry it made me cry. I had the thought that I would absolutely never speak to anyone else like that, only me and I suddenly started talking to that voice (me) like it was somebody else, "Well, maybe if you'd help instead of just yelling at me...
And that ugly, angry part of me was literally shocked into silence. I could feel myself just waiting, and I literally apologized, and I MEANT it. I was horrified that I could treat (myself) anyone like that.
I was crying and had needed a friendly voice, not an abusive one, so I said what I would have said if it really had been a beloved friend crying in front of me. "I'm sorry, let me do these."
And I was so relieved at the compassion I felt that I just bawled with relief while I washed the dishes and was ridiculously glad nobody else had witnessed it.
It was surreal, very intense, and I was kind of afraid I'd just split my personality or something (nope). But I do feel more gentleness toward myself now... at the very least, it's easier for me to remind the voice to be gentle when it starts up.

Yess! This is how I get all the taxes done and bills paid on time. I just remember from previous times the immense relief at the thought that nothing is late and I don't need to worry about reminder letters. For a super anxious person like myself, this sense of relief is actually a very powerful motivator, akin to the feeling of being pardoned on the death row 😂

I have severe anxiety so I keep thinking about getting whatever I need done to be finished right now. That’s in partly due to parents ignoring my ADHD as mental health isn’t really talked about with black kids. My mom thinks EVERYONE gets diagnosed with mdd when they leave the mental hospital.
