  • Anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD and other mental health disorders are complex. There are a variety of possible causes and contributing factors, and as a psychiatrist (medical doctor specializing in mental health conditions), I see them all.
Research has begun to help us understand that the GI tract is one of those contributing factors. In this video, we will talk about the mind-gut connection. We will explore how the mind and gut are related, including how various neurotransmitters are produced in the gut, the role of the vagus nerve, the link between the mind, GI tract, and the immune system (called "leaky gut" by some) and how the gut microbiome impacts more than you think.

For the past two weeks, well roughly about 3 weeks. I have been dealing with gastritis accompanied with anxiety panic attacks and also in the past week or so I have started to have these depression fits or crying and I'm not particularly depressed about anything however I feel overly emotional at times my stomach feels fine but then when I feel my anxiety and panic come on I get the sharp pains in my stomach and it shoots to my back

@Vixy Avar I no longer feel nauseous, my appetite is back...but I'm fighting other demons now. I'm convinced something is neurologically wrong with me, like MS, or fibromyalgia...there is no respite from my health anxiety.
