Quick correction as I post this video; Note that unlike the Salamanders, Storm Shields automatically give a 3+ invulnerable instead of increasing your invulnerable by 1. This was my mistake in the video, so I'm correcting it here. I confused myself and only noticed it in editing. Also, RAW you can take the storm shields on Tartarus, which gives you literally ZERO down-sides, unlike Cataphracti. This is of course against rules as intended, but I suppose it is legal.
Anuj Malhotra apparently said that Tartaros Terminators were supposed to and will be able to take storm shields at the same price as standard Terminators at the Age of Darkness seminar at the weekender. No idea when that'll officially happen, but it sounds like it's safe to build them that way.
If I were to play the fists, with their awesome bolter specialty, I would definitely kit them out with unique and different bolter-ish weapons from places like Anvil Industries, Spellcrow, Kromlech, Puppetswar, Victoria Miniatures, etc. Imo bolters are cool but they could be so much cooler with a little cosmetic variety.
Imperial Fists: So badass...but can you handle yellow? I think interestingly they're one of the few Legions that actually got much more interesting AFTER the HH, Templars and Crimson Fists rock your balls
I’ve got to say, I think the Alexis Polux model is great- and the paintwork on the one shown as the example is way beyond my skill level. But, on the shield- something about the colors chosen, and the appearance of the surface texture looks (to me) like it’s made of planks of wood. Very nicely painted wood, but wood nonetheless. Probably not too resistant to bolter fire. Thanks for the video- I’m really enjoying these “Getting Started in 30K” episodes, as I’m planning on starting a Legion at some point this year. I know it’s going to cost quite a bit, but your videos are a great resource to refer to and make sure I’m not wasting points or dollars. Thanks again-
Awesome, thanks! Maybe when I'm finished building my 40k army, I've been thinking of putting together a small 30k Fists force. The models are really nice, but its a force you'd definitely need to save up for.
Love the series. I would also mention that they are one of the few legions with a Teleportation Transponder for their Terminators. What's your opinion on Sigismund and the legion specific units: Phalanx Wardens and Templar Brethren?
Alexis Polux is much more flexible than Sigismund. Also both the Imperial Fists units suck. I would stick to a squad of terminators with storm shields.
Always nice to see you making a rewiev of the army I love to play.... Very nice 👍🏻 !! I would suggest to take a leviathan with two siege drill and phosphex to deal in close combat with everything .....
He's too busy off eating Cats. I did score one from the Open Day, so I will have him soon. Disturbing development, he is on an 80mm display base for some reason, ruining the consistency of all my Primarchs, I'm gonna have to cut the base down.
The Outer Circle I see this base size thing is causing a bit of controversy.... typical of Dorn to do something just because it seems right to him and go upset others.
Pretty nice video. Damned, I can't have all legions ... well I can but my wife will ... well you know. The recap image at the end of the Iron Warrior was pretty nice. You should add it in all the vid. I have no knowledge of video software but it can decrease the edition time if you had a common frame. Intro - FW bundle worth it if any - Troop - Elite- Heavy - Recap
Really sad that the torso upgrades for Imperial Fists aren't available. Have to go through Phalanx Warders and Templar Brethern for those. The worst part: I just got into Horus Heresy. :/
You mention taking Pollux as a Praetor and point out his "lovely Mk. III armor" - but you can only take a storm shield if you're in Terminator armor, correct? If you're not running him as Pollux.
That is correct. However the boarding shield is still a really solid choice as the preferred weapons of praetors and Characters are generally specialist weapons, so the shield adds no negative there, and as it has defensive grenades, any unit that character is in which gets charged will be well defended. No charge bonus for you mr world eater!
Yeah - that's how I run him. Just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed some next-level sneakiness that would have landed me a powered armor Praetor rocking a storm shield.
Running him as a counts as delegatus with Mastercrafted powerfist and Boarding Shield in Stone gauntlet is a pretty good idea. You get a cheap Master of the Legion to open up access to the RoW, the toughness bonus makes him more survivable in challenges, and since delegatus comes lets you mastercraft a weapon for free and boarding shields prevent extra attacks for multiple weapons you can take a powefist that's as good as a solarite gauntlet against non-vehicles.

The Outer Circle why is it not “intended” for Tartarus terminators to have storm shields?

The Outer Circle
Why no Sigusmund. Dude can take down almost any hero in combat unchallenged - mid/high tere primarchs being much harder challenges
Reece Dignan Sigismund doesn’t buff your army. Alexis Polux does.
Henry the 9th
Ah, thanks.
*Plague Marines: WE ARE THE SEVENTH LEGION!*
....
Wait, what about Space Wolves?
I explain that...
Rogal Dorn: "...No...."

Blood Angels still beat them to it.
Yellow is the colour of chads
lol yeah I think that's a big time challenge with the 7th - painting yellow that is.
Base coat in pink, yellow isnt terrible
Man I’d love to see a Battle report from you. Be a real treat to see these choices at work.

"so umm....5-6-7"
"No No No 5-7"
It's a perfect 5/7
right you are keep up the good work

I like the taking the piss at GW in the beginning
Be awesome to see this updated now that the huscarls and new praetors are out :)
Been enjoying this series. Thanks for doing the 7th. Enjoying the advice for the Imperial Fists. Glad I picked them when I started HH.
Your Channel Improved lately i am liking the getting startet series a lot.
>twin Volkite contemptors
Jesus...

seems like a solid list looking forward to seeing your video on the 15th legion
missing Sigismund and his templars.....
Clarke Lewis being a former black templar player I would have liked to hear this option too! Sigismund looks far more awesome than Pollux!
Always nice to see you making a rewiev of the army I love to play....
Very nice 👍🏻 !!
I would suggest to take a leviathan with two siege drill and phosphex to deal in close combat with everything .....
But what about Rogal Dorn? 🤔
Oh, great video as always, really looking forward to Legio X.
He's too busy off eating Cats. I did score one from the Open Day, so I will have him soon. Disturbing development, he is on an 80mm display base for some reason, ruining the consistency of all my Primarchs, I'm gonna have to cut the base down.

THE SEVENTH LEGION!!! lol ^^
Also casually ignoring the wolf furries, classic! Magnus would be proud :D

I can’t wait for Alpha Legion! ...at the very end of this series... in the far off distance... in several months. Fuck.
30k content? Subbed. Emperor bless
Very nice as always
Crikey! £800 plus and then the painting begins...one day...
Thanks for sharing, very informative.
I thought the storm shield just gave a straight up 3++
It does, I even made a note of it and pinned the post at the top of the comments prior to uploading the video.
ah I see it
I’m PUMPED for Night Lords. Don’t let me down Macca.
The beginning made me laugh my ass off.
Really sad that the torso upgrades for Imperial Fists aren't available. Have to go through Phalanx Warders and Templar Brethern for those. The worst part: I just got into Horus Heresy. :/
If I use the stone gauntlet raw, I won’t be able to deep strike my chainfist terminators to take out that pesky Spartan Tank.
Quick question: What is the drawback to las-cutters in breacher squads? Still need to buy that army list...
Basically, they are just the worst and a melta bomb is worth more to you and costs a lot less.
17:39 hillarious!

Had me thinking I clicked on the wrong video haha
Night Lords next? Hmmm.
Question, would you configure the 1st company the same as the rest of the 7th legion..? ~ Will
make a space wolves list next please
I'm just looking at the price tags .... Gulp.
imma guess you got the medium end of the stick and live in america, macca has to deal with about 3 times our prices.
No Dorn?
No.
I think it’s implied if you are a fan of a legion you’re going to get their primarch, regardless of rules.
No matter how hard i try i cant get this armylist below 2400pts in battlescribe. Wtf
The Fists are a 2500 points force, give or take, as presented.
Do I have to sell a kidney to play HH?
I despise whoever decided to make Imperial Fists yellow
Build it up from brown.
I like everything about the Alexis Polux model except the shield looks retarded.
imperial bees
why have you not mentioned the looks which make the fisters so much more attractive? everything on here is absolutely beautiful!
Dee-mos. Not Die-mos. It's the name of a Martian moon... it's Dee-Mos.
Okay my opion of you has changed your great
Its fisting time! (Not sorry)
aaand I am waiting for the XIX legion :D
Rogal Dorn and his personal Thunderhawk = less than 1000 points, and can be taken as one LoW choice.
It is, but you won't see it below 2k points anyway, and it will chew up half your points.
