It's certainly an interesting one for sure.
i think its funny that between fanatical faith, crown of woe, and khelt nar subfaction you have 50% of nighthaunts new allegiance abiltities.
and also that it's not the best choice. ;)
I think there might be too many elf fans on the design team and the playtesting team.
for Tyler: I think there was a player on the belgium team that also got a perfect run with BoC.
regarding aos worlds, its not the warhammer I want to play but I like to watch it. Kinda like watching high level sports. the pairing bit is really cool and add a lot of strategy to team game cause your trying to maximize the amount of positive matchups. And sometimes you want a minimum amount of points so you look for 2-3 really strong matchup and just "sacrifice" the others. The way the points worked was quite cool as well cause you're incentivised to play all the way and fight for every little point you can bring.
(I mostly watched the french coverage so that might have tainted my perception of it cause they didnt really analyse games play by play but rather followed 2 teams from a birds eye view, commenting on lists and matchups and pairing strategies. Makes for more of an emotional coverage, like a sports drama)
Your take is almost mine exactly! Fun to watch, not what I want to play. :)
Ah and there always has to be drama on other coverage..
Little Morathi does get the ward save before transferring the wound to the shadow queen.
Core rules states Wards saves before allocating to a model. Section 14.3

The only FAQ I want is one that changes Morathis rend to -3 and then next month another FAQ that is basically GW rolling a D3 to determine her rend each month

What do you recommend to use as chaffe; you didn't mention a good unit for that role? I am looking to running Zaithar Kai and want to protect my reinforced blood sisters.
The options I could think of are (all run in min-size):
Khinerai: cheap 5 HP on large bases. Heartrenders can shoot and move even more, Lifetaker might survive if the enemy let's them activate by fighting something else first.
Blood sisters: 10 HP and fight when they die.
Or I ally something in, like
Dreadspears: 90pts for 10 wounds on a 4+
Dark riders: 115 pts for 10 wounds on a 4+ with cavalry bases and only 5 models so better conga-lines.

Honestly, the list is long. I think depending on the list, Sisters of Slaughter, doomfire, Khenari - those would be my top 3 and they can all play dual roles which is valuable.

Ward saves are made before Allocation. (14.3)
So Little Morathi gets a ward save before the wounds are allocated to the SQ - but SQ cannot Ward those wounds (cannot be negated and too late for Wards).

The pattern-seeking part of my brain really wants to sync up the Heartrender and Lifetaker warscrolls by removing the 4+ roll from the latter's Fight and Flight ability. That would also give them a really interesting and rather unique rule. They might have some play then, without being overpowered due to the alternating activations? Or would automatic retreat after fighting be OP (on this unit)?
Honestly, I think they could retreat automatically (or they both do it on a 2+ or something) and it would be fine.
Would have loved to see, visually, Vince and Chuck lists also. Otherwise great show as always

So. Rules as written, you cannot spike Morathi off of the board in one round.
So while the wounds allocated to Morathi are instead allocated to the Shadow Queen, The Iron Heart of Khaine states that no more than three wounds can every be allocated to her.
So 6 wounds are allocated to Morathi, Two bodies one soul activates. You now attempt to pass 6 wounds to the Shadow Queen. Wounds ALLOCATED this way can't be negated. The Iron Heart of Khaine ability then says "Okay, only three mortal wounds are ALLOCATED". The remaining wounds aren't allocated at all and are therefore negated.
I tend to agree with you, the challenge is, that pesky wording that the wounds that transfer cannot be negated, so the trigger clause that the more than 3 allocation is using (that they are negated) - would seem to be prevented. Again, people are reading it both ways, I understand why people are reading it both ways - it doesn't matter, it will be FAQd.
What are peoples thoughts on Hag vs Slaughter on Cauldron?
Slaughter does have strike first but at the cost of a prayer slot and sippy cup. Does that feel like it's worth the extra 45points for strike first
I like her, but I think most will prefer the Hag,
I'd say the extra 45 points is more for the Orgy of Slaughter command ability
TYLER (and Vince) = can i have your estimated points for the units of Tyler's Tombkings Warscrolls (from the AOS first edition). If i want to use the following 4 units as an add on for Ossiarch Bonereapers... what points would they be in the new third edition of AOS?
- Necrosphinx (440 points in 1st AOS)
- Sepulchral Stalkers (140 points in 1st AOS)
- Necrolith Collossus (220 points in 1st AOS)
- Bone Giant (200 points in 1st AOS)
what points would you give these units in AOS 3rd Edition - if the Magic Spells on the Warscroll Cards are ignored?
what would you point these units if you want to field them in OBR?

My honest answer is I wouldn't even be sure, if you're using them in a fun game, you're probably good to just use the legacy points.
IT looks like GW is finally figuring out how to create good army books where each army can utilize many of their troops and still be viable. Looking forward to the ogor book and hopefully Gluttons and Ironguts can get more play :)

I think at this point Morathi and the bow snakes isn't the best build, the other units are so cheap and buffable that you'll have a better (and probably more fun for both players) time with absolutely stacked Melee snakes and Witch aelves.

Daughters of Khaine - Don't step on Snake
Fyreslayers - Full of hot air
All 3 --- Have better command traits and artifacts than Stormcast (even Fyreslayers, whom I think have fun rules but not enough to boost them above where they were, have good command traits and artifacts)
A Stormcast general is one of the following:
- A Lord Relictor with High Priest trait and Mirror Shield artifact
- A Wizard with Master of Magic, bonus points if it was actually a Wizard without Arcane Tome artifact
As for Snake Girls --- I think their mortal wound trick is more of an Evil Glare / Laser Eyes than a Bad Touch
They originally called it crystal touch. Hence the bad touch. ;)

So why are the phychographic profiles Johnny, Timmy, and Spike? Spike kind of works to match a name with the profile but Johnny and Timmy, might as well be Bob and Bill. The name does nothing to communicate the profile. Vince, the burden falls to you to right the wrong of Magic.

I mean, not as long as your playing other Timmy's - the key is to allow your opponents to enjoy the game in their own way as well when you do find yourself against them. :)

Interesting play challenge? Sure, for the opponents, but Vincy, seriously, SQ does nothing but promote poor play from the person using her. Have you ever played a DoK player using SQ who didn't plow her right into the middle of your primary forces regardless of what is there? And even worse, now she has 2 rend.
I think the wording is on purpose. You cannot focus fire SQ to kill her, you need to focus fire MK to kill her. Now it will promote "good play" by having SQ play seek and destroy on the targets that could feasibly seek and destroy MK, while you do everything you can to protect MK. DoK player might have to use this little thing called "strategy" now.
Dont worry its just an order and aelf things, they are better so you NEED to play better than them :')
I understand everything you're saying, but it will be changed by FAQ, it's just not how they operate.
@@VinceVenturella I dunno, if they wanted her to continue to function the way she did all they had to do was copy/paste the wording they had. But they changed it, I have to think changing it was on purpose.
