I feel as if a part of my youth died when the passing of this wonderful entertainer and genuine human being occurred. Marvin Lee Aday (Michael) AKA Meatloaf your musical performances will live on! Thanks for the decades memories.
Some people are saying the interpretation is that he is doing this to the same person who did this to him in the first place. I agree with you, Meatloaf was a treasure, never to be replaced, as is Jim Steinman, his collaborator on so many, and the writer and pianist.
Oh honey the look on your face when you realized where this was going…. This song has been tearing my heart out for 45 years! ML is a force of nature and when partnered with genius Steinman, well, your emotions are just not safe. Suggest I’m Gonna Love Her for Both of Us for a fun look at obsession, and 1993 Orlando video of Life is a Lemon…deliciously dystopian! Surf’s Up very seldom reviewed…burns the oxygen out of the air with Steinman writing and ML delivery. So much to love from these two!!
You like Meatloaf’s voice. Early in Ted Nugents career, Meatloaf sang lead on some of his songs. The two I can remember off the top of my head were Writing on the Wall and one called Together. Not too many people know this. Check them out. The dude had a voice.
I’m giving away my age, but this song was highly popular when I was very young. I love it still! But I have only come to learn that he’s probably not talking about the woman he’s with a long time ago. When I was young. I thought the woman that he was telling that to is the woman who told him that a while back. Anyway it’s my favorite meatloaf song.
Part of the reason we won’t get another Meatloaf or Jim Croce or a multitude of other performers is simple. You have to have talent, you have to have a good personality and most importantly you have to have a Hollywood perfect look. Meatloaf and Jim and Jimi Hendrix and others just look like everyday Joes but they got the chance because of talent and opportunity. Now they don’t get a chance because they look like anyone instead of Hollywood perfect and two out of three aint bad but it’s not what gets promoted either.
I know you aren't actually doing music reactions anymore, but I would recommend "For Crying Out Loud" by Meat Loaf...... It's my favorite song by him, and I think you'd really like it.
I’ve always loved this legend of a song! 💖👍✌️

I’m crying icicles instead of tears
“There ain’t no Coup DeVille hiding at the bottom of a Cracker Jack box”. Perfection.
Yep, remember a long time ago when they had actual prizes in the Cracker Jack Box now they have a sticker or something like that lol
That’s my favorite line in the song

The best description I've heard of this song is it is a story how, hurt people, hurt people.
Objects in the rear view mirror, the live version brilliant.

An absolute tour de force!!
The woman he is singing to about leaving is the same one who left him before.
The BEST Meatloaf song is, " Rock and roll dreams come thru ". I hope you can do a First Reaction for that song soon. 🎵
What up 2Y’s!!👋🏾
Great song selection💯
I like Paradise BTDL, and it’s a classic, but I believe, that this is his best song/performance.
My first reaction I did to him and I loved it
EDDIE!!!
