The story on that, I've heard tell, is that because of mislabeled film canisters, this film was supposed to be called "The Chinese Connection" and the OTHER movie (about the revenge on the slain teacher) was supposed to be "Fist of Fury"--in fact, the phrase was referenced in the film. Truth or urban legend? Not sure but it would make sense.

During that time in the US, the X theaters were just coming into play and as such, to avoid fear of association with movies imported being called "The Big Boss" and "Fist of Fury" the decision was made to change the names. Because of this film in this video being associated with drug smuggling, and the popularity of the Gene Hackman hit, The French Connection, the name was changed to The Chinese Connection and FIST was changed to FISTS. Somewhere along transport, it is said the canisters were mixed up and this is what we got.
This was his very first movie after returning to Hong Kong after he couldn't get a movie deal in America. It was kinda low budget but his performance gave the movie a push!! Here he discovered that his cousins have been killed by the drug lord and frozen in ice in the Ice Factory. There's the scene with th saw that was so brutal even today they always cut it out you can only see a photo of it if you Google it. You guys are hilarious. Much love!!

That's from the 1971 film The Big Boss. The US title is Fist Of Fury. But Bruce Lee had another film in China called Fist Of Fury and the US title for that one is The Chinese Connection so don't get those films confuse if you ever want to check them out.
