While working on Game of Death in 1972, Bruce got the green light to start work on Enter The Dragon. Bruce Lee was a street fighter punk most of his childhood, in real life, mind you, even though he was a child actor too. The only scene(s) he shot for this movie were the Pagoda scene(s), this is why most of the film is so dark (well, the scenes Bruce in, at least), so you won't see it's not really him. The real BL was too fast for the cameras of that time, so he had to slow himself to be seen moving at all, otherwise, you'd be seeing him standing and everyone around him just fall to the ground, when it happened on set, the directors had to ask him to slow down. RIP Bruce Lee. All the scenes he's "filming" are scene from his other movies. Last fun fact from me: Kareem Abdul-Jabar was his student in real life, for a time.
Bruce Lee was in a show/film called Longstreet. Some scenes are on utube. The red nunchaku guy was Bruce Lee's training partner/student Dan Inosanto. There are plenty of videos of him online providing an insight into Bruce Lee in real life along with tutorials on his fighting methods..
He filmed the pagoda scene 1st cause he knew it was going to be the hardest scene to shoot. He wanted to show case Jeet Kune Do could adapt to any style. Brandon Lee was up & coming. The Crow is recommended, but ppl forget Rapid Fire, which he shows more skills & Showdown in Little Tokyo. He played a good part in that.

There was a lot of money to be made off Bruce Lee's name when he passed & no Bruce Lee fan was happy with what they did with this film. Over the years, lost footage was found, & fans have put together something that more resembles what Bruce had in mind for the pagoda fight. If you would be up for it, I would absolutely love to see you watch this version. There's also some of Bruce's martial arts philosophy in the dialogue that wasn't used in the film & info about Kareems character, too. Maybe watch it as a mark of respect to Bruce. This whole movie except the Pagoda scene just feels so weird, 15:00, yes sadly it's real footage from Bruce Lee's funeral, which is a bizzare addition, and adds to the weirdness for me, I can only really watch the Pagoda scene, because really it's the only Bruce Lee part in the whole movie, the rest just feels like it shouldn't exist.

@@farmakoxeris Faith/Religion doesn't matter with the term Godfather now.... it simply means that if you take on the role of the "Godfather" or "Godmother" that you vow (and sometimes are legally bound depending on your country) to look after a child if for some reason the child's parents both die, e.g. in a car crash, and have no one left other than an orphanage to look after them. 15:14 no it was real, the producers took footage from it and just put clips into the film for storyline and to further make it look like if Bruce was really in the film. After he died, the industry essentially created a whole genre surrounding Bruce Lee out of exploitation with different look alike actors and this happened to be the most famous of them at the time. It was called Bruce Leexploitation if I'm not mistaken. When he died many were in disbelief a man such as him should die so young and the industry capitalized on that grief.
This is the only movie that made sense to do it, since it was created to somehow fit the actual Bruce Lee footage into the movie. It makes no sense for others to have done it in future
The funeral scene in this movie is actual footage of Bruce Lee's Hong Kong public funeral. He later had a more private one with friends and family where he is inhumated in Seattle. If you want to see the actual Game of Death footage in full (because they are much longer) and as Bruce Lee intended them to be seen, watch John little's Bruce Lee a Warrior's Journey. It's a good documentary which features a quality reconstitution of the final Lee movie directly from Lee's notes.
I actually love the plot of this movie...real shame..also, Kareem is only in the pagoda scenes as well..that's a different actor in the earlier scenes of the film.
You are the first person to react to all Bruce Lee films, which is awesome and I commend you for that! Also, you are probably one of the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, lol.
Many others have already recommended watching Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey and I have to as well. They reveal what Bruce Lee's real intentions were for Game of Death, and they show the complete footage as it was meant to be. There's a recent documentary I'm looking forward to called Enter the Clones of Bruce, which covers the whole Bruce-slpoitation film era and all the lookalike actors that capitalized off his name and image.
The pasted in face scenes was because Bruce Lee died during the making of the film. They had only filmed the ending fight scenes before he passed. You'll notice you don't actually see the real Bruce Lee until the end. This is how they salvaged the film for release.
It's a shame he never got to finish this movie . for those who might be new to his films , he was filming this when he got the offer from Warner Bros , to star in Enter The Dragon .And had to shelf this movie . He was already feeling ill on the set of ETD according to John Saxon , and never got the chance to return to making this film . So the studio added in awful footage to complete it for release .
i recommend you watch the ORIGINAL game of death pagoda scene. its longer and there were originally 2 other people with bruce while he was fighting those people. and it was more comedic. The original film was actually supposed to be a bit more funnier. and the story was WAY different from what we got here. it was also called Warrior's Journey
From what I've read, this kind of mirrors Bruce Lee's supposed defiance of the Triads in Hong Kong. They wanted to play ball and he told them to piss off. Some people believe he was taken out by them or that Raymond Chow (founder of Golden Harvest of which Bruce was working for) not wanting to lose his moneymaker at the hands of rival companies (like Warner Bros, who came to Bruce for Enter the Dragon) had something to do with his death. There were a lot of contributing factors that lead up to his death. And yes, that was footage from his actual funeral... over 28k people attended. Shortly after, his wife Linda had him brought back to the US for a more private funeral, consisting of close friends and family. He is buried in Seattle, Washington because according to Linda, he very much enjoyed his time there, "before all of this" (the fame) and wanted their children to be close to their father. His son, Brandon, is buried directly next to him, who died 20 years after his father on the set of The Crow, due to a real bullet still being in the gun, instead of blanks (sound familiar?). That scene where you thought his face was pasted in the mirror was actually a cardboard cutout with a towel draped over it 😦 I love your reactions. You seem chill and actually seem invested in whatever you watch. And of course, you still remain the sole RUclipsr to react to more than just Enter the Dragon XD
20:30 The guy in the ring is another martial arts legend named Sammo Hung. He also has a cameo in the opening fight of Enter The Dragon opposite Bruce. Sammo made many movies with Jackie Chan (who was also a stunt double in Fist of Fury). Highly recommend their movies, especially their classic ones in which they star together - and yes, Sammo is very agile and fast!
The difference between the scenes with the fake Bruce Lee and the scenes Bruce was able to perform were like night and day. Nobody had Bruce’s swag and magnetism on screen. Also the quality of Kung Fu and acting ability were so different in quality and delivery. Sad we lost him so young because he would have eventually I believe win an Oscar.
When they made the decision to try and complete _Game of Death_ they could not do the whole ascending-the-tower thing that Bruce had originally envisaged because come 1978 that idea had been done to death in Hong Kong at the time; this is why what we ultimately got is nothing like what Bruce had planned (at least, not until someone discovered Bruce's original script notes several years later and cut together whatever footage survived). In the scene earlier in which Hakim was just sitting down that was not Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Kareem refused to be a part of this film when he was approached after the decision was made to complete it as he believed that it was distasteful, so for that shot they just got some other guy and shot him at that low angle to hide the fact that he was not as tall as Kareem.
I was born in 1970. And I remember my friends and I would go see 3 matinee Kung fu movies for 79cents on Saturday. No one ever came close to Bruce, and no one ever will.
John Barry's Game of Death music is pretty good. The Asian version has pop songs by Roman Tam. Major continuity problems. Blind Fist of Bruce(1981) is a good kung fu movie.
Kareem said in his book, "Giant Steps", it really WAS that tough sparring Bruce-" He was just too quick" He was one of his first students and close freind. The "Billy Lo" subs did a good job imitating Bruce, but the resturaunt ending fight scenes shows the diff between a "clone" and the real deal. 30:19 That was how Bruce rolled.."Nailing me with some Akido? Have some wrestling and Judo, chump! ( Hence the WWF finish) Big shame how the studio held back lots of extra fight footage with Isanato, The Akido /Karate guy and Kareem..It's great stuff ( U can find it on utube) Happy New Year to u!!
They way they disrespected Bruce by showing his actual funeral footage in Honk Kong in this movie was absolutely disgusting it pissed me off !!! I’m a huge fan of Bruce but I can’t like this movie except for his Pagoda fights where the only good thing that came out of this. Buy the Arrow Boxset of Bruce Lee movies they have a lot of missing scenes and good stuff
The final three fight scenes with Bruce are some of my favorite fight scenes of his. The rest of the movie is kind of laughable except for maybe a couple of scenes. And yes that was really Bruce Lee's real funeral, and that was really Bruce Lee's corpse laying in the coffin. That was kind of tasteless if you ask me, never should have been used to make a movie. Bruce Lee's script for this movie was much better than the movie we got. But the director of the film decided to change the story and use something totally different than what Bruce wrote down on paper. I've seen Bruce Lee's version on paper, and it sounds a whole lot better. Too bad they didn't use that. Bruce was way ahead of his time, amd he has inspired many people to be the best they can be, he even inspired me as a kid to get into martial arts myself, as I'm sure he did for many others. Anyway, great reaction, I look forward to more.... God bless and Happy New Year!! ❤
When it comes to the Bruce Lee-alikes, generally it's the Korean martial artist Kim Tai-Chung (who was given the Chinese name Tong Lung in billing, which is likely a nod to _The Way of the Dragon_ due to Bruce's character in that being similarly named). However, for the more acrobatic and/or trickier kicks it's actually Yuen Biao, a very flexible, highly gymnastic Hong Kong actor and martial artist who trained at the same Opera School as Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung. Yuen Biao did a considerable amount of doubling during this period due to his impressive abilities. One example in your footage in which Yuen doubled Kim is the flip-kick at 22:56 and when he flips off the bench at 22:27, with the spinning crescent kick that immediately follows it also being Yuen. There were a selection of movies that featured Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, and whenever they were in the same film together the chemistry between them was just electric. Such films include _Project A, Wheels on Meals_ and _Dragons Forever._ Jackie did also appear with the other two in _Winners and Sinners, My Lucky Stars_ and _Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars_ but in reality these are where Jackie is in a supporting role in a film in which Sammo is the actual star.
When I watched this I thought exactly the same thing. What the hell is going on. This is not Bruce Lee’s game and f death movie. And they had the audacity to disrespect Bruce by using actual footage from his funeral.
You should really watch the real 1972 Game of Death with Bruce and his two helpers it's what Bruce filmed before Robert clouse got him to star in Enter The Dragon
Happy New Year! If you get a chance? Catch up with the excellent documentary " Bruce Lee: A Warrior 's Journey". It puts the Game Of Death footage in the context that Bruce Lee WANTED to present it in before he passed away. It's quite illuminating. The documentary is a real change of pace with the unedited footage of Game Of Death.
You now reacted to all the Bruce Lee movies i have seen, there is also a spoof section of Enter the dragon in the kentucky fried movie. There is also the movie They Call me Bruce. Another fun martial arts movie to react to is The Last Dragon (1985). Another recommendation is China O'Brien with Cynthia Rothrock.😊
Not the best effort by the studio, a bit of a mess really, but the actual footage towards the end with Lee ascending the pagoda fighting against the masters makes it worth putting up with the shambles. The studio rushed to get this movie out because of Lee's popularity at the time, plus a lot of Asian studios were starting to take advantage of their own Bruceploitation movies after Lee's death hiring actors to try and mimic Lee. Actors/martial artists Bruce Li and Dragon Lee were two of the most popular of the Bruce Lee look-a-likes around during this period, however, the novelty faded away as quickly as it appeared which didn't leave much in the ways of a decent or memorable performance or even furthered the careers of these two fine actors/martial artists. Soon after Lee's passing, Hollywood ignored or simply lost interest in the martial arts genre until another martial arts star caught their attention. Jackie Chan's Hollywood debut movie "Battle Creek Brawl" aka "The Big Brawl" was Hollywood's follow up attempt of the genre and from here onwards Hollywood further exploited their own martial arts films utilizing both Asian and non Asian actors. Some of the actors weren't even martial artists and the quality of martial arts films dropped immensely. This was the period where every studio wanted a piece of the martial arts box office action and worried more about money than the quality of the films they were releasing.
Golden Harvest and Raymon Chow//Shaw brothers had to milk Bruce one last time wit this movie. Yeah this looks bad now and even back late 70s when i saw this in China Town it was head scratching as a kid. There was a guy named Bruce Li that was a knock off Bruce Lee of sort that had martial arts movies and thought that was him. Imagine having a Jet Li now doing similar movies but glad you watched this as the Bruce Kareem and fight in the pagoda was worth the watch.
It's a terrible movie but worth watching for the clips from his previous films and the pagoda fights. As others have said it's worth watching Warriors Journey. The pagoda fights are edited differently and are closer to what Bruce originally intended. A big thank you for your reactions to Bruce Lee's films, enjoyed watching them all x
If you wanna watch the "most complete" version of Bruce Lee's original Game of Death, check out the link at the end of this comment! Would be great to watch you react to it! It has dialogue full of Bruce Lee's philosophy regarding martial arts (and is actaully quite funny in some parts). Also, instead of 10 minutes of Bruce Lee footage (like in the theatrical film), it's over 30 mins of great Bruce Lee action. Highly recommend it!! ruclips.net/video/ec4qwXAxY50/видео.htmlsi=x3LhchnA5rLW6W5g

Enter the dragon, fist of fury, The Way Of The Dragon, big boss and game of death revisited, not the awful 1978 movie, which was directed by enter the dragons Robert clouse #bruceLee #foreveryoung #jeetKuneDo #ENTERTHEDRAGON #BIGBOSS #FISTOFFURY #WAYOFTHEDRAGON #GAMEOFDEATH 🤷♂️
Hey Reembok, if you haven't already...key in "Game of death lost footage" and react to it...nvm linked it here: ruclips.net/video/CJFq64B_5EQ/видео.html It's 39 minutes of the actual Bruce Lee, in scenes as he intended to shoot them, per his script....not this clumsy, cash grabbing abomination.
Well, technically, you have to ignore the surrealism in Lee's movies to get to the true entertainment(like jumping in trees better than any leopard can, the extended flip scene in unedited ETD, the dart from everywhere scenes in ROTD/WOTD, the incredible jump kick scenes in both movies(which are real and which are fake--some are fake), Kareem should have kjIIed him[but Lee has scorpion legs and arms that come out of nowhere to save the day], etc. If he's a robot like a UNISOL or superhero, you could get it. However, he's acting as a human in these movies not superhuman.
There's no way that you should've put "Bruce Lee's" good name plus 'Game of Dea/*th' in the title together. This is absolute trash and not at all what he wanted for this movie. If the great Bruce Lee watched this movie from start to finish (he'd probably walk out of a theatre after 5 minutes actually).... then he'd be more-than-annoyed and most likely sue anyone who put this piece of dog-p^$*^# together. Sorry you had to watch this!

You seem chill and actually seem invested in whatever you watch. And of course, you still remain the sole RUclipsr to react to more than just Enter the Dragon XD
The documentary "Bruce Lee: A Warrior's journey" (2001) gives an idee of how the movie would have been if Bruce Lee had been able to finish it.
I havent seen this in yrs.
The guy in the nunchuck scene was danny inosanto, Bruce's first student and also his teacher of Philippines martial arts.
@ 29:34. ...Thanks Quentin, now I can't get "Kill Bill" out of my head.
the best part of this movie was the soundtrack and the "you lose carl miller!" 😎😎😎
Very James Bond-esque.
Especially John Barry's part of the score.
Billy Lo is even more brutal in the Chinese language version, he's like "ARE YOU DEAD YET!?" 😂
Sammo also choreographed the action in this film that Bruce had not already shot prior to his passing.
Bruce's trainers were yellow Tiger, mexico 66, the fake Bruce had the yellow Adidas
, the tigers are still available 😛
OK, RUclips, you knew I was gonna be watching this anyway, but--- it is pretty funny when drop it on my homepage *right next* to "Kill Bill" clips...
Creepy Fact: Gig Young, who played Jim the reporter, killed his wife and himself the same year this movie came out.
Assista o "Jogo da Morte 2" tão bom quanto o primeiro
31:41 That BGM was epic….
looks like this movie begins where Way Of The Dragon ends
Happy New Year! If you get a chance? Catch up with the excellent documentary " Bruce Lee: A Warrior 's Journey". It puts the Game Of Death footage in the context that Bruce Lee WANTED to present it in before he passed away. It's quite illuminating. The documentary is a real change of pace with the unedited footage of Game Of Death.
I didn't know Alec Baldwin was in a Bruce Lee Movie😂
Reembok 😃👍 You definitely need to watch "Warrior's Journey-Remastered . Kareem has dialogue
Will do!!
You should watch the Bruce Lee story it's a cool movie
You now reacted to all the Bruce Lee movies i have seen, there is also a spoof section of Enter the dragon in the kentucky fried movie.
There is also the movie They Call me Bruce. Another fun martial arts movie to react to is The Last Dragon (1985).
Another recommendation is China O'Brien with Cynthia Rothrock.😊
Sweet
Your approach if often quite creative. Did you make these puppets?
Great reaction, Reembok, have you considered the 1993 biopic Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story?
If you wanna watch the "most complete" version of Bruce Lee's original Game of Death, check out the link at the end of this comment! Would be great to watch you react to it! It has dialogue full of Bruce Lee's philosophy regarding martial arts (and is actaully quite funny in some parts). Also, instead of 10 minutes of Bruce Lee footage (like in the theatrical film), it's over 30 mins of great Bruce Lee action. Highly recommend it!!

今の技術なら、完全な作品に出来ます。
あの時は、ブルース・リーを誰もが惜しんで見たがった。
代役を立てて滑稽な作品になってでも、客は見に来た。
Accept Enter the dragon which looks very very realistic- reast all self directed HK movies look & sound crap .
You didn’t recognize the Chuck Norris fight from Way Of The Dragon? 🤷🏻♂️
Only 33 minutes were made by bruce lee, the rest were mady by dobles I Will send the original minutes Witherspoon the real bruce lee

These are the only 33 minutes in which bruce lee acted in this movie because he died before finishing it
This is the absolute craptacular ,money grab movie...Warrior's Journey was Bruce Lee's ORIGINAL Game of Death...THAT is the version you MUST see...I damn near cried how they butchered his vision.Linda,Brandon AND Shannon Lee dismissed this garbage. WARRIOR'S JOURNEY ....Pleeeeeaaaase.
Could you react Kiss of dragon movie ?
You should watch Game of Death 2 it’s a bit better than this one
Sorry,I had to stop watching this after 13:00, as far as I'm concerned this is just rubbish.
I'm glad you saved your time and yourself from rubbish.
One of his worst movies
Actually his worst.
Actually not his movie when you think about it.
Such a crap film. I loved all the other films though. @7.16 your reaction was exactly like mine, when I first watched. Getting beaten by goons and not being able to black poor attacks.
You should look up Bruce's uncut Version of the ending.I think you'll understand him alot better.
