- Is this the Best Rod in Fishing Planet!? To me- it is. Obviously, when you're playing Fishing Planet, you need your rod to match the size of fish that you're after. But- this is a rod that will last you throughout the game, even after purchasing it early on in the game.

I can't stop laughing at a titanium leader on 25# fluoro with a frog on the end.
It’s just happenstance from my memory. I saved it when it had a frog on there but usually switch the lure for something else. Because of that, it doesn’t matter what lure is saved if I always change it

Never watched this, but somehow I bought the same rod and reel exactly for my everglades bass rod. Haha, using at St Croix currently :D
I took it first to quachkin lake looking for flatheads. My first fish was a 5.o45 lb drum... It was close when it hit....the hook set yanked it out of the water..and flung it backwards and forwards 3 times...looked more like volleyball then a a fish lol
You just made me get reason to play even more the fight of bass to to long now it's up to grinding!
I cant find this in game. And ik alot of people buy dlc and stuff. But id love a video on like the only setups you really need type video. With like what rod reel setups to catch most fish needed and u could make 2 videos 1 for fishing and maybe 1 for tournament players. Cause as a new player free to play. Im wanting to find like the most efficient rods to fish most things by weight.
I understand- this rod is not a DLC and should be in the shop, so I’d look again. I try to keep the majority of my equipment in beginner series videos as free to play- and then we have the entire free-to-play series as well, but with the natural progression of the game, it’s hard to say “these are the only rods you need!” I’d say watch the free 2 play series and those would be the closest to your goal

Hi! What do you say about this casting setup: GalaxyCast 8'6" (32 level) and VorteX 5000 (34 level)? I think this setup will be a little powerful!
Rod size affects money earned? When you unlock a new map in FP, you will be under leveled to fish there. Not enough Money, not enough experience to unlock the gear needed. It's better to be over leveled. Maybe 5 levels over? Sounds about right..... What do you think Bo

Ahh I have too many rods and reels, but I do have a rod overview video that shows you how to rig up rods if that would be helpful? Otherwise I pretty much have a set of rods for nearly every location due to all the videos

So why is it you put Reel as weakest strength? 🤔 is it cheap to repair?

The reason is: you can use Maximum drag on your reel without breaking your fishing line. If your line was weaker than your reel, you can't go to maximum drag without a serious chance of breaking your line and losing your lure / bait and the fish.

I also like that rod a lot. If you want to make the game a little easier for you in the beginning you can buy the sport topwater casting pack and get this rod and reel with the sport skin. I’ve used that combo from level 10 until level 74 now and it’s actually the main combo I use for XP grinding currently because electric eels in Amazon don’t need a heavy set up.
*Just got this BassCaster 240 setup and I have to say, ME LIKES, except range is 40m* .
The Counsellor 3500P baitcaster reel *looks very nice and rod is thin* (compared to FarCaster, which has 45m range), it has a nice fast bend and I did not see it glitch, which is annoying for long, slow rods. Line capacity is decent, 0.28 MagFin Trophy braid (13.6kg) fits 125m, which may save you on oversized fish. Casting distance is 40m, about -5m than FarCaster, and -10m than spinning setup. If this rod could cast 50m, i'd put in S tier, but now it's a solid A-.

Can it be farther apart say 17 lb line 12 lb rod and 9 lb reel. 17 lb braided jig winner 710 and prima 3500 spinning set up
i do have a beautiful vbo basscaster rod from a dlc its like 10kg max weight what a great rod for basses

Just went over to the fishing planet wiki and the Counselor 3500S reel does seem to have better recovery than the 3500P, slightly lower max drag though. Any thoughts?
im sorry, but at 3:16 the strength tier is line>rod>reel here, but most recommendations i've read suggests it to be rod>reel>line instead. is there a specific reason for this?
This may be an old video, and things have changed in the game since it was uploaded. To maximize the strength against the fish in the game, you must use as much drag as possible from your reel. In order to do this, your reel should be weaker than your line. But - the line should not be heavier than what your rod can support, or else the rod will take damage. So the rod should be strongest, then line, then reel at the weakest link. Rod>line>reel.
@@BoAngles ah i see, that makes sense. Well this rod>reel>line strength dates from years ago too, and all high leveled players in game chat said the same thing also but i have been questioning it for quite a while bcs I'll always waste 1-2 drag level due to this.

The whole line rod reel thing has always messed with me since it's so backwards from real life. It feels dirty equipping a leader that's heavier than my rods weight limit but it's definitely Meta on here it seems though. I'm level 30 on steam and 44 on the Microsoft store version so I've never really seen the reeal big stuff but is the max drag layout still better when I'm eventually using the expensive endgame gear for amazon and such? I always assumed that it was cheaper to buy new line every once in a while compared to the heightened reel repairs from redlining $100k+ reels. I might have to make it a habit

Yep! Good idea!
Look at the max drag of your reel and get a line with a slightly higher lb test than your max drag. Also get a rod that can handle more weight than your max drag.

Just to let you know: at the time of buying this rod, my brain was very dead. I accidentally bought 4 of the rods (thinking they were float rods) for Everglades and wasted all my money, shame me in the replies please.

Update: The rod still doesnt work even when using the boat. The boat wasnt anchored btw. I broke the reel now

@@Larryboom956 well I dont really know whats wrong, i ve been trying to do everything right. The only thing that might be wrong is that he uses the reel that is 0.5kg stronger which is I dont know how many lbs.

Nah, salmon require a much higher retrieve. Shot in the dark estimate, but I’d look for a rod with +30” retrieve minimum
The salmon are kind of in a range of their own because they like to take a lot of line out and then swim straight towards you, recreating a huge loss in tension
