giants have a tendency to constantly have receivers that make plays or make drops, there seems to be no in between, but I may just be biased. Granted, a lot of passes in this game were high or behind too
And now, it ended..... This is uncharted territory for me. NFL without Eli. He was the only constant in the ever changing universe. And now, he is no more. Thank you for making us love you so much. Thank you man.
I was 5 years old when this game came on and I remember how excited me and my dad was. Soon to turn 21 and I must say it was a pleasure to have Eli as our QB
"As Eli Manning buys time..." that's a sentence I miss hearing from the announcers when I watch Eli Manning... all I hear these days is... "Eli Manning is sacked again..." they really should have drafted him some better OLinemen or picked up a good one in FA... cause it wasn't Eli's fault.
I’ll never forget this game, bought tickets for my fathers birthday few weeks ahead of time (really wanted to see Vick IRL) but was even more excited because coughlin pulled Warner out this very week. Although ATL defense wasn’t bad, giants o-line was horrendous that season. (Kurt got sacked like every other play) So many dropped passes. I’ll never forget the roughing the passer penalty on Osi umeniyora, Vick jumped flying in the air somersault flip, it was a very questionable call tbh, crowd did NOT like it and the ref got to hear the “a-hole” chant! This was my freshman college year and made for a fun fall. It was an honor and historic night.
Eli Manning is a quarterback for the (New York Giants) who won two superbowls against the New England Patriots. And is such humble individual. Some people don't even acknowledge his achievements. The best quarterback ever, in the biggest market. NY/NJ
Oh man I remember this....remember looking forward to watching VIck in this game too since I didn't get to watch many ATL games in NY...The falcons were exciting to watch that year.
arjl880 oh i was gushing over vick’s ability when editing this vid. Vick was so fun to watch. i wanted to make originally make it: Eli Vs Vick; battle of #1 overalls
Oh that would be a great idea for a video. I remember that's how they marketed it in the week leading up to this game....but you did a nice job with this. Not too many tapes of this lying around. Really brought me back to a time when QB's were considered elite for throwing just 3500 yds and 30 tds (Manning, Culpepper, McNabb)
Im a giants fan but eli has only had like 3 or 4 good years out of 15. 2 of those turned into superbowls obviously but sometimes he is just painful to watch. No mobility, no accuracy, no strength, and no awareness.
His career and the Giants during the Eli era will always have that inconsistent label. His career record is 500. I remember a few seasons even in the better years when they were 6-2 or 5-3 and then faded in the 2nd half. 09, 10, 11, 12 should have been playoff seasons. 06 they got in at 8-8, but I believe they started 6-2. But yes the last 6 years they totally blew and wasted so many of his years.
Eli is still a solid QB, better o line this year awesome RB and TE, Shepard and Tate, ...defense i am worried about, a boat load of picks this year, They scored the most points in the NFC east last year and lost a lot of close games. Not all of it was Eli's fault, and i would rather have him as my QB then Rosen or Darnold.....oh and the cancer is gone!
Matt most of those passes looked pretty accurate to me and they were in the hands everytime Just about. They're were numerous drops on catchable balls and the offensive sucked dick.
Well let's see he has the most wins, most playoff wins, most completions, most Super Bowl MVPs, most game winning drives, most playoff game winning drives, most passing touchdowns, & most passing yards in the history of the NFC East.
@@Midwest_Picker He's also 110-106 and heading to a losing career record. Had losing streaks of 5 (multiple times), 6 (x2), 7, and 8. Out of 14 years, he's only had 7 winning seasons, been a top 10 QB 3 times, and been on the NFL Top 100 (started eight years ago) 3 times. At 1-4 this season, he's currently 4-16 in his last 20 game and Sunday was the first time in almost two years that they scored at least 30 points. And in the last two years, almost every win was by a TD or less. Led the league in interceptions 3 times (once with an astronomical 27), was shut out 4 times in 3 years. Once shut out in the playoffs. Once didn't even complete a single pass past the 50 yard line and has had a zero passer rating. Twice gone almost 3 games without a TD. He may have longevity stats, but he was never the best. Now, if you really want me to blow your mind, I'll do a direct comparison to Tony Romo on personal performances. This is really eye opening.
@@tomknapp6194 he has had mostly bad rosters especially defensively. The former GM Jerry Reese was terrible. Eli would have won more sbs somewhere else
That ball does look like it comes out faster and harder than it does now. I still think he can play. He just needs solid play all around him. But the one thing you could never get away with is giving a pocket QB a terrible o-line for years. Too bad for him. On to the next dude. Hopefully G-Men won't be in QB hell.
@Jonathan Chiarkas Hate? Nothing but respect for Eli for holding onto his job for 16 years with basically lifelong backup stats. After all, his average standings in the passer rating was 18th. Not even the top half. He never led any QB stat, except interceptions, which he did 3 times. He was a pro bowler 4 times in 16 years. A passer rating in the top 10 once in 16 years. He was never even the best QB in the NFC East in 16 years. He has a lot of totals, but only because of a long career. That is not a good QB. 2 SB MVPS? lolololololol Anyone with an ounce of football knowledge knows that Eli didn't win those SBs, it was the defense shutting down Brady. Eli had very little to do with it.
@@Spaceman0715 The only reason Eli has an MVP is that you can't give it to the entire defense. Then it goes to the QB by default most of the time. Eli only won because of a lot of luck, especially when he was not on the field. Not the mark of a great player.
Tom Knapp There was definitely some luck like a lot of players have but he played lights out in the playoffs. Will never come close to Peyton but he played great in the playoffs the 2 years they won the Super Bowl.
"A team that has given up 24 sacks in the last 4 ball games." Poor Eli, if only he knew how much of a warning that should have been for a franchise that wouldn't even give a shit.
2:53 explains why Shockey was such a dick towards Eli until he left the Giants. I liked Shockey, but I was glad he left because I felt he was too heart broken over Kurt Warner being replaced by Eli. Still, if Shockey would had bought in the Giants would have been much better.
The Giants don't give a crap about having a good O-line which is why its a crap offence. Those receivers weren't good either. Just Barber working his butt off.
NBA why didn't you expect anything out of Sam Bradford, Jameis Winston, Matthew Stafford or Andrew Luck? These are a few of the other 1st picks in the draft you give a free pass to all the time. You are just a media brain dead lemming.
Zekes first game he had 20 carries for 50 yards. Coopers first game he had 40 yards in 5 receptions. Both top 5 picks, neither have accomplished anything even close to what eli has. Funny.
Anybody here because they clicked on the video?
Bro how did u know? 😵😵😵😵
Eli has to be the QB with most dropped passes, even with that playing against him he managed to get 2 chips. Hall of famer without a doubt.
giants have a tendency to constantly have receivers that make plays or make drops, there seems to be no in between, but I may just be biased. Granted, a lot of passes in this game were high or behind too

Just watched highlights of his game v Dolphins-- he STILL looks 17~~. I hope Eli has a long and happy life-- he gave NY all he had. skins fan

We could've let Jones get his first start at home, too. Does Jones need the extra pressure?
Probably his last season. Even though I'm a broncos fan I still can respect him and say he had a great career

Chris Strebeck mhmm +& he kept starring down jeremy shockey
Lots of passes thrown behind the receivers. Eli could not hit them in stride. He was not very accurate...only 48% completion percentage as a rookie.

And lots of time he had a 40+ yard TD that was made by the receiver. It goes both ways.
