There's room for both sports to coexist anyway. Just because they have the same name doesn't mean the sports are comparable. Your assuming people will stop watching football to watch soccer and that's just not true. Some may switch but most will watch both if they watch soccer at all. I love videos like this because it's an awesome experience for him and the players. Regardless of his celebrity or fame it's the love of the game that ties them together and you can tell he loves the game.
It'd be nice if they gave him a better disguise tho. One that truly changes the shape of his jaw, chin and forehead. Eli is hilarious in character! But he was so obviously Eli that everyone there knew exactly who he was. Ruined the potential of the sketch.

Eli is the man. Retired 2-3 years now and can walk onto any college field and obliterate any QB competition. That's how good he was. Eli's foot work is amazing.
wow... that was a dumb comment I would truly truly hope ANY starting QB in the NFL could impress a college team 🤣 that'd be like me going to a local middle school and people being impressed when I dunk on a child
Mr. Archie, Cooper, Eli all great down to earth people. Peyton used to have a little chip on his shoulder. Haven't been down to their football camp at Nicholls State in a long time. Perhaps he's mellowed in his retirement.
My great uncle, Tom Swayze, recruited Archie Manning to play baseball at Ole Miss from little old Drew Mississippi. Love watching the wonderful Mannings make Mississippi proud. They never forgot where they came from.
No matter how you felt about Eli as a fan of a rival team, there's no denying that dude is a legit NFL talent. Even at 41 he was still towering over those other kids and showing them what a real NFL arm looks like. Just a different class of athlete.
@@johnb7053 Eli got it done without Shockey. And, as for Burress, I mean... yeah, he was a weapon, you're right. The problem is, Burress also had a weapon of his own...

Eagles fan here, and I speak for most of us. Eli was always respected. Clean cut, said and did the right things. And beat Brady twice. Now he is into another part of his career and he gets to show his real personality, absolutely top notch. Hope you stay with ESPN and sports for a long time. Good on you Eli.

It’s amazing how the beginning of his career people worried about his desire to play and his attitude. By the time he retired coaches are telling their qbs “you need to not care about the last play like Eli”.
As funny as Eli was, the cameraman or editor that made the decision to go in too tight or cut off half of the Eli's and everyone else's head was consistently, obnoxiously bad.
Thank you ESPN for getting back to showing athletes having fun & chasing their dreams. Chad Powers is top 10 on the list of greatest run-ons of all time!
I forget how good these guys are until seeing it all in context. With that being said, seeing walk-ons is a reminder of how difficult it is to get on a college roster - let alone with a reputable team. To see Eli in retirement go in there and look like a pro among the college players shows the level he plays at. I gained a whole lot more respect for Eli after this. Last, his humor and personality shined through in spades. Now I see how he was a leader capable of Super Bowl rings. I never necessarily doubted him, but now it's clear. The coaches who thought he was a walk-on had to have been disappointed to see it was fake. They thought they had a walk-on starter! Haha...

@M Bro I'm a soccer fan but that's just not true. I live in Texas and football here is like a religion (look at the Dallas Cowboys, Texas A&M, Alabama Football, etc.). There's room for both sports to coexist anyway. Just because they have the same name doesn't mean the sports are comparable. Your assuming people will stop watching football to watch soccer and that's just not true. Some may switch but most will watch both if they watch soccer at all. I'm excited that soccer is growing here but I just don't think the USA will ever be a soccer nation like many others are.

It'd be nice if they gave him a better disguise tho. One that truly changes the shape of his jaw, chin and forehead. Eli is hilarious in character! But he was so obviously Eli that everyone there knew exactly who he was. Ruined the potential of the sketch.
