@@karenbaker7168I know they play it in bars, but I'm not sure if it's popular to watch as a proffesional sport. I get, its about as followed professionally as the British follow 9 ball pool. I wouldn't recognise any famous pool players, even though there is a pool table and team in most pubs in the UK.
My friend has just moved to California from the UK to work, and he has joined a dart team in a local bar, I'm not sure if they play the same format as us though.
@karenbaker7168 Darts are popular here in the US but mostly as bar fun or league. I watch almost all PDC tournaments and have yet to meet a fellow American who even knows what the PDC is. Cheers from Detroit!

This is the main reason why I have gotten back into darts the past 4 years.... the people. What a great bunch of people involved in darts now, in all aspects. Cheers to the players, PDC people, ITV people, Sky people. Top class!🍻
Agree. Big aspinal fan for just how he enjoys the game for big shots and wins whether it's him or the opponent. Then I get thinking Clayton, Cullen, Micheal Smith, Peter Wright, Dobey, and many others are the same way just enjoying life. Makes it fun and a special sport on its own.

That's the pleasant difference (of many individual sports) to football. There is prize money of X amount and no van Gerwen, Wright, or whoever can say: "I'm not even traveling for that!"
While 18-year-old "boys" are hyped by their advisors, earn millions and behave as if they have already achieved something in life. I am also a fan of my hometown's football team. But such “athletes” are extremely unpleasant.

@@jackybogues2495 the thing about prosthetics is, when you see it being done and you know it's fake it does look kind of fake but if you'd been one of those lads there not knowing, you wouldn't have been looking for it. There is a big difference.
I think these makeup people try too hard. It ends up looking like a Halloween costume. Go for the "less is more" approach.

This is what makes being alive today so wonderful - I woke up at 5am today, made a cup of coffee and this randomly popped up on my feed. I just watched a bunch of guys 1/2 way around the world have a lot fun, smiles and a great time playing a simple game of darts.
It’s the little things folks. The little things in life that bring us together, make us smile and help to try and make our short time here enjoyable.
Thanks to everyone in this video in helping to remind me to smile and enjoy life. Thank you from Long Island, NY.

They're just normal guys at the end of the day, and were just like these lads before hitting it big.

Clayton was pretty easy to recognize because of his throw and smile - the others were almost impossible, wouldn't have recognized them If they told me who they were 😅
I recognized Cullen's throw pretty easily

Clayton was easy, but the Asp as well. The rest was a lot harder.

Great to see London's Best Darts pub was used for this - was lucky to be up there at the end of the evening and everyone had a fabulous night
Anyone who watches darts could tell who they are just by the throws, and I’m sure the camera crew was a bit of a giveaway
We were there filming 'social media content' for Paddy Power and filmed with every player on the night!
@@officialpdcwell the throws and scoring would have been easy to tell, you could tell it was Clayton anyway, even with the makeup
@@motorhead4870Clayton was fairly obvious with his throw, but Asp is fairly generic in throwstyle and Cullen and Dobey were VERY well disguised!
Only Johnny would stick out - His face structure was also still visible in disguise.

i saw Jocky Wilson at a pub event in Fife years ago.
Watched him practice and hit a nine darter just warming up. In the competition he marched to the semi final but the guy he played was fantastic and should have won but Jocky just got though. He was a gentleman all night, much loved in his local area.

Amazing to see professionals do this. I remember going on a pub crawl in Hull with the players from Hull KR many years ago. It shows they are just normal people with special skills ❤

I was one of the players in the tournament & can confirm no one had a clue (except for the PDC staff) all the pros used completly different darts, flights & throws. Some even used accents (Cullens Welsh accent needs work 😂)

Unfortunately it wasn't as easy as that! It took 20 minutes to remove the prosthetics.

I don’t even like darts, but I enjoyed this video. It was great seeing how the fans reacted before and after the reveal and the whole thing had a feel good vibe about it.

My Mum, Bets on the Horses 🐎 Every Week with her friends down their local Pub, and They Never Believed Me, That ‘Paddy Power’ was a Real Guy! lol 😂 I had to show them Pictures and Videos on RUclips and They Still Thought I Was Winding Them Up!! 😂😂 It took about a Month for Them to Believe Me but She is 76yrs Old and Her Mates are about the same Age! Lol 😂 She would’ve loved this happening in Her Local!! She’d have Called Me and Told Me, She’s Met the Real Paddy Power!! lol 😂😂 Keep doing what you’re doing, cause you’re making Great Memories for People that they’ll never forget! 👌👏👏🎯
