Before Super Bowl 46 a question was posed in the pregame show to Rodney Harrison: who would you rather have the ball in their hands with an opportunity to drive down the field and win the game, Eli or Brady? It was a tough decision but ultimately Rodney ended up saying Eli (to be proven right by the end of the game, mind you). That tells you a lot right there.

Seeing the Giants beat Jerry Jones' Cowgirls was priceless. Jones had to tear those tickets he got them in half.
That freezing cold game vs the Pack.
"The Helmet catch after Eli's scramble was the greatest sports play I have ever seen."
Manning to Manningham to beat the Pats in the S.B., again.
    And so many more memories.
    Thanks Eli.

Eli was amazing for the Giants and NY. Not only a GREAT player but a great person off the field as well. That entire family are the football Gods thanks to Archie Manning. Eli is a 2-time SB champ and 2-time SP MVP. What he did to the Pats not once but twice was amazing, especially 2007 when the Giants beat the “undefeated”. No matter how many rings they have, those 2 losses, especially 2007 will FOREVER haunt them. Eli was the best of the best during clutch time. Thanks Eli for all the memories and for that fantastic hall of fame career!

1 of 5 with multiple SB MVPs: Brady (4), Montana (3), Bradshaw (2), Starr (2), and Manning (2).

Everyone gets to play in the regular season, big F'ing deal. To separate yourself as a great it has to be measured by what you do with opportunities to be great. Eli turned his opportunities to be great into Super Bowl Rings, Tony Romo crapped the bed.

If you are of a certain age, too young in '63, but old enough to remember the later '60s and '70s. You have to say of all these playoff games, the one that means the most to you was beating the Cowboys. How many years did we have to see Dallas beating the Giants? The Cowboys in the playoffs and in the Super Bowl? That one game makes me smile the most.

I wonder if it is covered how Eli was carried through both seasons by the defense. Yes, those bottom half defenses came alive during the playoffs.
8 straight playoff teams all head to an average of 15.1 points/game, none over 20 (NFL average was 21), and an opposing passer rating of 74. The NFL average was 21, but all those teams were well below their season averages each game by 6 to 23 points.
Seriously, who can't beat that? Well, Eli almost didn't. 5 of 8 wins still by 4 points or less. 2 of those 5 went to overtime in which Eli was 100% a non factor on the actual game winning drive that he is credited for.
The Giants could have won those SBs with literally almost any QB in the league, but could not have won with any defense. Before you start spouting, "Eli had those 2 passes that no one else could have done." Most QBs would not have needed lucky last second plays to beat 14 or 17 points.
The Patriots were averaging 37 and 32 points those years. Eli scores 17 and 19 points in the SBs and he's the hero? His 17 points in 2007 didn't even cover the Patriots average margin of victory that year (19).
The 2x SB MVP averaged 1.5 TDs and 275 yards per game. I don't know in which universe that is considered to be an MVP performance.
