I got my hands on the entirely lost and unavailable-anywhere sequel to "The Axe Titans of Classic Rock". It's called "The Axe: Grooves".
Fortnite Festival, Rock Band and Guitar Hero wouldn't exist without this game.
i uploaded the ISOs. Cant paste here for obvious reasons, but link is on my Discord here, and it's on a very large software archival site

Huge thanks to the anonymous viewer who sent me this. And yes, I archived it with permission. "Introducing The Axe" is still lost

It's crazy how similar Freestyle Solos in Rock Band 4 sounds to The Axe

Thanks man! It's been a while but I think I'm back in a rhythm game mood. It comes in waves 🎶

That is super interesting, I always wondered what that game was like. Gonna have to stick around to watch the rest of this Harmonix series

Oh for sure it's nothing more than a gimmick for half an hour, but it's really cool that they were able to release something like this in the 90s! It's crazy. I didn't mention in the video, but the manual even shows plans for online multiplayer coming soon that obviously never happened lol
Really shows their ridiculous ambitions from the start haha *only* these guys could keep Rock Band DLC going for as long as they did.

Incredible find! It’s a shame this game flopped as hard as it did - I guess the world wasn’t ready for it just yet!
Great video, can’t wait to see what’s coming 👏👏

Thanks so much! Harmonix always has a theme of being way too ahead of the times tbh. The fact that FreQuency has an online multiplayer mode on PS2 that you have to access by swapping a start-up demo disc is proof of that alone haha

excited for what's next, huge fan of guitar/clone hero and rockband and have been enjoying fortnite festival recently with friends even though the song choices aren't my cup of tea i still feel the urge the go for full combos lol

Thanks! i'll be honest I haven't really gotten into Fortnite Festival. Something about a rotating song list like Guitar Hero TV that I'm not super into when I've already got thousands of DLC songs. I'm waiting a little bit for some updates and instrument support and then I'll give it a fair shot. Really wish it played like Amplitude.
(I wish everything played like Amplitude)

Hey, I've uploaded a couple of scans from an interview Harmonix did with GameInformer for the release of Rock Band 1. It shows screenshots of the alpha! I'd post the archive link here, but I don't want my comment automodded.

Oh no way, that sounds sweet!
Yeah, Archive links get auto deleted and you get flagged. Learned that the hard way haha. If you feel like it you can paste it in the Discord where I uploaded The Axe! Its in the description 👍

The Axe doesn't exactly use flash, its a similar product from the same people before flash came out. Director 6 is the exact version the first game uses.

Thanks for digging through the files and posting your findings in the Discord! Interesting that the credits say Flash. Must have released around the same time as the Macromedia Flash first release?
