Fuck this depressed me so much. After my suicide attempt I tried to do everything by the book. Got into treatment, told friends (discreetly... told that I was really down, I didn't want to worry anyone), tried to reach out, tried to do everything right. I tried so hard. Tried to get my life in order, tried to make plans for future. I really tried. I'm not doing any better. I was told I could talk to people but it became very clear that people don't actually want to hear you. They just say that out of courtesy. "Out there, they don't give a shit about people like you. They don't give a shit about people like me, either." Somehow this movie was really liberating. Why should I care to make myself happy for other people, and stress because I just can't feel that?
It proves that there are some mature and smart people in this world who're not afraid and scared to face the reality of this world and are actually intrested in good films like these that these movies too cross billions now. I hope there will be more good movies like this in future instead of all those super hero crap

Nah, how long have you been an adult for? People are more accepting of people with depression ever in history. If anything we're too accepting because what some people call depression is just having a really really shit day. Depression is nul of feeling, the absolute loss of all emotion. If you want a good example of depression watch One Punch Man, I know it's cartoon and many would think it's for kids, but they have a very good example of depression and never need to tell you it. That is REAL depression.

You know when he caught my eye was when he said in an interview that he felt Heath's presence with him throughout the making of this film. They were good friends and, i thought that was awesome and after watching the trailers, with a totally different take on The Joker, I think he's gonna SMASH this performance and win the Oscar.

Joaquin's ability to carry the character by his expressions and tone of body are what make him such a great actor. In the first trailer the saddened sluggish motion to his walk shows the depressed broken man but now in the suit he walks tall with swagger. God I can't wait for this movie.
I like the difference between each of their Jokers. Ledger's Joker was a true insane, sadistic lunatic but still very intelligent while Phoenix's Joker is much more human and realistic. Just as sadistic, but more controlled and reigned in.

The best part is that so many people refuse to look at it from that point of view. The scariest thing about this movie is throughout the start of the movie it seems emotionally deep and disturbing for the audience, but when the joker finally kills someone the movie then feels uplifting and less disturbing for the audience and more quite fun to watch. This goes to show that it’s real. You feel happy for him when he realises that killing makes him feel good. This film is brilliant but scary when you dig deep into it.

The scariest thing about this movie is throughout the start of the movie it seems emotionally deep and disturbing for the audience, but when the joker finally kills someone the movie then feels uplifting and less disturbing for the audience and more quite fun to watch. This goes to show that it’s real. You feel happy for him when he realises that killing makes him feel good. This film is brilliant but scary when you dig deep into it.

So true. Many will disagree, but c'mon. I know hundreds of examples, most common is shouting at children with ADHD that they should "be nice" and claiming usage of belt would fix it. But c''mon I know people who konow I can't lift heavy things for years and still expect me to lift things that are light for them (as technically I'm much weaer thna average due to my condition). Really idiot? Human who can lift 3 times more than me, shout at me that I have to help him, because he has heavy stuff? Bravo! You can lift it! Now continue.
So how they should understand mental ilnesses/disabilities/disfuncitons if they are much younger concepts? If you can't understand that guy at least 6 times weaker than average male in his age, with risk of seriouse, life-long injury if trying, shouldn't heavy lift, and as you are male of like 5/3 of his weight, his normal limits would be smaller anyway, can't heavy lift how you can understand that somebody's mind operate differently?
That was the best line in the whole film. Made it worth the price of the ticket, and went completely over the heads of everyone I went with.
