The man shows off his mastery and enchants us 🌟👌
I love the symbolism when we see Arthur climbing the stairs earlier in the film. It's a mental struggle because of how miserable he is, how much effort it takes to keep his head straight in a world that does not give a shit about him. But the dance downwards is him just giving in the madness in himself. He does it with such a relief and enjoys himself. Just accepting that this is who he is. A man no longer struggle upwards, but dancing downwards.
Joaquin phoenix's joker is aimed at more mature audiences than Heath Ledger's Joker
I thought he was happy because he decided to kill himself.
@@lickenhuntsman5338totally - it’s much deeper psychologically
Best scene of the movie.
He knows he's lost it, he just accepts it and suddenly feels "healthier"
Also the walk down the stairs is literally the descent to madness. Such a well thought out movie
Stop fighting and going the easy way always feels like this. He decided to end Arthur Fleck rather than fighting the Joker he fears to become at this point. Only Murray tipped him over again in the very last moment.
Happy times
That's a very layered scenario since that would technically mean he's having a manic episode and The Joker himself is often referred to as a "Maniac". Lol
Reminds me of the Walking Death phase of certain mushroom's poisons. You go through pain for awhile, but then you get better. At that point it's too late.

This is by far the best representation of joker, he’s someone that almost every person can empathize with. He doesn't love to sow chaos. Lol He was just like: "You reap what you sow." face.
Reverse Fuhrer He likes to sow chaos and he proved it many times in the comics. In this scene, he used people quarrels (chaos) and then escaped thanks to it.
That's what I love about this movie, he slowly becomes more and more like The Joker we know and love but it's a slow burn unlike most other origin comicbook movies. If they make a Joker 2 he might become one of the best Joker interpretations.
The Mad Titan Exactly. The scene I mentioned, the scene on TV and conversation to the policeman in the car at the end is a typical Joker.
@@darkgoddarkseid2824 Yep, I'd also cite the scene where he kills Randall as another good example of classic Joker because of sudden shifts of brutality and dark humor.

This stairs is actually symbolical to the whole plot of the movie, as you can see in the beginning, you see Arthur, coming up, looking so depressed, you can see the emptiness on his face. This is him, trying to "go up" into the level of society, trying to fit it as much as he can. But on this scene, shown in the video, he now gladly accepts himself more than before. He now gladly accepts that society will treat him lowly no matter how hard he tries. So as he walks down the stairs, he is now on a positive attitude, compared to when he was rising from it.
I looked at the stairs as mental health. When you're trying to better yourself (climb up the stairs) it's hard and it's grueling. But the descent down into madness (the walk down the stairs) is so much more easier and carefree. Like a dance.
He descends into the underworld.
I just saw stairs
Story of my life lol
Fantastic observation!
For me this actor can stay the JOKER!I like him with this role!
what astounded me is that all these crazy dance moves on wet stairs and he didn’t slip at all
Anal-ysis🤔🚨
“Those who dance are considered insane by the ones who couldn’t hear the music”
What?
maybe they are deaf?
The Joker is insane tho.
Those who do not hear the music, think the dancer mad
LOVE THAT!
The depressing thing about this stair dance was that Arthur was planning on killing himself on Murray's show so this was him celebrating his last day alive
Last day alive, and the joker's basically like may as well commit as many crimes as possible.
Yep...believe it or not..a lot of people don't get that.
@@blue23song31 it’s been a while. When was this shown?
@@Phoenixifyable what?
@@blue23song31 wooaaahh i got to know this today
It’s good he finished his dance and reached the bottom of the stairs before they found him 😂
There is a little Joker in all of us ...
you could see this as a metaphor that he dances the stairs down into madness, he isnt Arthur anymore, at this point Joker has taken over.
Tagebuch wow i didn’t realize this, thank you
Joker took over when he killed Sophie. The descent was completed.
@@neetfeet35 He didn't kill Sophie. There is a cut scene where she is seen watching Arthur on the Murray show.
Could I
@@iamsultana I don't remember that on the movie,i think he killed her, because that "romance" is all on is mind, she never talked to him,and never meet in on the elevator, she only knew his name, and she looks scared as hell when she finds him on her home.
The way he dances is incredible there’s no rhythm, looks so random and he moves so freely I love it
Gaming Moments just shows he is now fully accepting himself and being free
Thanks for sharing this. Hope you don't mind but I used a little in my review fo the movie stevepafford.com/joker/

Scout 1032 exactly 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I love how the detectives catch him in mid thrust before they start chasing him lol
"Be scared of people who have nothing to lose"
That dance was a symbol of freedom for Arthur.
Throughout the movie we only see him going up the stairs, he had the obligation to go to his mother and take care of her even if he wanted her dead. We never saw him going down until this moment.
The moment Arthur was free. Free of medications, his mother.. of everything.
Here he embraces the Joker and not until the last minutes of the movie we see him truly unleashed.
What a beauty of a film indeed.
are we seeing similarity's with this corona virus lockdown bull shit .that we see in joker, time will tell.i can see something exploding soon.
Well. First, losing his medications, like his ideals of his mother being stripped away from him wasn’t a positive thing for his sanity, second, he was fully intending to go on tv to shoot himself in the face. It was a dance of freedom into the arms of death. Not into the arms of “the joker.” The director and Joaquin said he wasn’t fully “the joker” till he was dancing on the cop car. And embracing chaos and madness doesn’t set you free. Believe me. I have tried. It is a masterpiece of a film I’ll give you that, but I came away from it like “whoaaaaaa I’m way too much like Arthur I have got to get my shit together if I’m gonna keep on living.”
paul holland lots of similarities now that you mention it.
After the quarantine, no one will be joker. They will become a joke instead.
Patrick Chole The medications are making him worse. He takes bottles & bottles of them & he still feels like shit.
The stairs are a symbol of the Joker's descension into madness. This film is a masterpiece. A classic. I'm thrilled that Joaquin Phoenix won the Oscar for the role of Arthur Fleck/Joker.
You could say descending into sanity
the stair is a symbol of the pretentiousness that joker forces out of everyone
What I hate is that people never give credit to Todd Philips. At least give credit to him too. Just because the protagonist stole the show doesnt mean the director didn't contribute.
@@tobycokes1 insanity* and he stopped taking his meds so he feels stronger and healthier and happier

The Stairs: a way of showing him dancing down and descending into madness. Masterpiece
Exactly
Never thought of it that way good observation
Same stairs at the start of Channing Tatum movie "Fighting".

An all-time favorite piece of cinema. I could watch this stair dance forever almost, it's memsmerizing in so many ways. No one like Joaquin, stellar casting.

@Earthly Fireflies Did I ask?
That bad-ass walk at the end by itself deserves an Oscar.
Here's an Oscar...plus 10 more.
I agree
Yes, I love that Arthur is becoming more and more secure in himself as the Joker in him starts to take over even more. That confidence comes out in the way he walks now.
And it's that confidence that makes us want him to succeed. For most of the movie he's been under the bootheel of society and to see him fully embrace who he is is beautiful. :')
just watch The Master with joaqui phoenix you will be love it
The acting by Jaoquin in this film is mind blowing and especially in this scene. The body language and this dancing conjures up a level of fear and menacing that no amount of foul language or weaponry can compete with.
