I told my friends/co-workers that "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies" by Panic At the Disco is one of the best white boy songs I've ever heard. Now they're sending me song suggestions and I'm doing live reactions here, on the Trying White Music series lmao Развлечения
This video is going CRAZY 🤯 I’m gonna react to the Moscow version. Check out Patreon.com/RobTV if you wanna guarantee a reaction submission or just support more! Much love y’all 🔥
that video is completely insane
i think you will enjoy the moscow vid. after, for a flip-side experience, i highly recommend you check out a concert they did with the san francisco orchestra in 1999. any of those would be great, but if you still haven't heard 'master of puppets', then that would be the go-to. best wishes to you

Agreed! You MUST listen to Master Of Puppets
Live at LBC for Avenged Sevenfold is another required live show to watch
Dude thank you so much for reviewing this. Absolute goal of mine to get you on the Metallica hype train. And they are still going strong! Keep em coming
Ladies and gentlemen. We got him.
we got him, but the mission continues
It's always a joy to see the birth of a metalhead.
YA THINK😅
Crack me up!
@@zibafu Metalhead forever!

Give Master of Puppets a go
Fr
Yeah, that should be the next metallica song!
Some bars to appreciate on top of the tune
Master of puppets is a must listening to Metallica. Early Metallica of the 80s.
Agreed 100%
Metallica, Moscow, 1991 1.6 million attendees.
He’ll yeah 🤘🔥
EPIC EPIC WPIC. It was after the wall came down and folks that had been separated for many many years theh all got to listen to Metallica together. Epic
thats a whole other level!! like a beehive on fire lmao🤘
Second western band to play in Russia, they had an opener. (Heh!)
Ac/DC was the headliner, and it was a free festival to celebrate the end of the cold War. Relax.
One by Metallica ascends like no other.
It really does. It is gutwrenching
The full video, not the shortened one!
Yes definitely need the music video to go along with it
heavy song but it really is a masterpiece.
One was a song that really made me appreciate Metallica. I wasn’t a big fan of theirs generally speaking, but that song brought me in. ❤️ sandman was the other. I HAVE to listen in when they are on.
Metallica - Master of Puppets, Disposable Heroes, Blackened, Battery, Creeping Death, Ride the Lightning, Kill’em All, One, Dyer’s Eve. All great Metallica songs when Metallica was great!
Yeah this is a solid list to go on. So many classics that's it's impossible to keep the list short lol
And a couple of album titles lol
Great banger, Damage Inc.
Gotta put Sanitarium and the entirety of Load/Reload lol
And just for fun FUEL
The song is from the perspective of the sand man who, in fairy tales, is responsible for putting you to sleep and entering a dream state. The sandman has some horror connotations.
This song was originally about sudden infant death syndrome until James Hetfield was bullied into rewriting it into a twisted lullaby
I'm fairly sure that this song is about shooting up heroine.
Oh holy hell he’s gonna love Metallica 🔥🔥🔥
One, Master of Puppets, Leper Messiah, Disposable hero's, Shit will blow his mind.
As does everyone who pays attention ❤
Master of puppets, fade to black, for whom the bell tolls, one, sad but true, wherever I may roam.. all bangers plus many more
Four horsemen
Nothing else matters
@@dillonsronce2583their first masterpiece in my opinion. Seek and destroy and motorbreath are good but there are so many changes in the 4 horsemen and the rhythm/solo changeup is my fave on that album
Am I Evil?
The people who name off their radio songs aren't real fans. Those songs you listed are meh compared to their others.
I am so burned out when it comes to this song, as are a great number of fans that heard this song too many times. Getting to see you feel the energy of this song for the first time let me feel the excitement I felt when i first heard this in 1991. It has restored a bit of Enter Sandman for me. Thank You
I totally agree with you.
Great self observation. Great comment.
I'm not burned out, but this vid reminds me why I bought the Black Album the day it hit the stores all those years ago. Rock on!
It always blows me away that people dont listen to the words and immediately realize that this is a lullaby. He is putting his child down for the night. It must've been great to be raised a heavy metal God.
I’m only 32 but my grandpa who passed when I was six would have been 105-110 now used to tell my mom and uncle that if they didn’t close their eyes and go to sleep then sandman will come get them. 😂
@lakewestchase my mom always told me that the sandman was who put the stuff in the corners of your eyes as you slept. She called cleaning the corners of your eyes in the morning, "getting rid of the sandman"
I believe this song is about infant mortality. SIDS or what they used to call crib death…
@davidromero2870 I hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense.
Its a 300 year old children's poem... welcome to the party Pal.!!
You were in my recomendations. I'm so glad I clicked!! I'm pushing 70, and my grandson introduced me to Metallica. Love it!
Look who’s headbanging now!!
FADE TO BLACK, ONE, MASTER OF PUPPETS. In that order you won’t regret it!!!
Hell yeah. Oh and, no one’s gonna talk about that badass Sagat statue in the back? That shit’s fire.
Master….of…..Puppets
I PROMISE, you will absolutely love it. The 8 songs on the album are absolutely legendary. The title track will blow your mind.
This is not a lie
One!!! That’s the name of the song…’One’
Kings of Metal
I remember liking metallica casually... then I went to one of their concerts and it was one of the best I had ever been to. Incredible band
You make me appreciate songs that are old to me like they are the newest joy. This song is about nightmares and dreams of evil things, being afraid to go to bed because of the monsters that are near.
The song "One" has the most messed up story behind it and the meaning of the words are screwed up hard. The movie it refers to, "Johnny Got His Gun", is a deeply twisted look at war and what the military industrial complex tries to do by selling lies to poor, dumb folk to get them to fight in countries they never heard of in the name of freedumb".
Regarding their status in the white hall of fame - 2 guys in the band are white - James Hatfield (vocals/guitar) and Lars Ulrich (drums) - but the other 2 are not - Kirk Hammett( lead guitar) is Filipino and Rob Trujillo (bass) is Mexican/Native American - although their bassist was a white guy when this song was recorded.
And that matters why?
Why the racism?
@@wmason1961 what part of that was racist lmao
@@jtowe14 only racists think it's relevant. All of it was.
@wmason1961 why do you think is relevant?
Back in the day, this was the song played before we jumped out high altitude airplanes into pitch blackness and it ear wormed us all the way down. @1 year Vet
As someone mentioned, check out Metallica performing live in Moscow in 1991. It's amazingly ridiculous how many people are there. Seriously. You won't believe it.
Especially Creeping Death and Harvester of Sorrow!!!
...and how many people (unnecessarily!) died! 🤬😡
@@SonicProfessor_a.k.a._T._Andra tbf even if they didn’t die at the concert half of them would probably die within the next decade. Russia in the 90s was absurdly awful.
@@FrankieWilliams-kx9gp ...and still is.
Yes. That is accurate.
(However, I am, still, always horrified how: this show was lauded as/is spoken of as: "a peace festival"
...but: corruption, which has existed for decades-on-decades ..."cannot" (effectively)/DOES not disappear 'overnight.'
...it seems as if NO-one outside of russia even BOTHERED considering this (and the associated/i.e.: what this, at least, COULD lead to/create (etc.!)
... There are plenty of cases of: military personnel: allowing or forcing concert-goers to be injured or DIE, due to overcrowding, refusal to open gates or fences, etc.
...I mean: it's, clearly, worse than choosing factions of the Hell's Angels to be in control of "security" at the (partially dilapidated) Altamont Speedway, at the end of 1969.
-But: I, in NO way, am attempting to dilute or deny the accuracy of what you say, above
(and thank you for doing so!!)!
AC/DC were the opening gig!
Idk if youd like it but whiskey in a jar is pretty cool and is an old irish song
Yo, Virginia Tech Football teams enters the field to this song. Also, who wants to tell him how epic it was to play this song on Guitar Hero and Rock Band back in the days!?
Just came across your channel for the first time. Love how much fun you're having with this track. Go get it, son!
Can’t tell you how many times I said the prayer before bed as a kid. When I heard them put in the song, I couldn’t believe it.
Watched all these clips over the last cpl of hours. Its like you're reliving my youth on fast fwd lol
You're not ready for the next Metallica song my brotha. Master of Puppets, Creeoing death, One, blackened, fade to black. BRUH, YOU AINT READY.
The Memory Remains. Another great.
Whiskey in the Jar
I saw Metallica live when I was like 14 years old me and my friends ditch school took the city bus downtown and seen Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne. Let me tell you that was an excellent show. Back then in it was like first come first serve we were one of the first people in there and was right up front in front of the stage. It was so loud I couldn’t hear for like a week afterwards.
First song I ever heard by Metallica was “ For whom the bell tolls”! It was so different from the other metal bands I was into. Thank god I had an older brother who got me into metal in the early 80s. He did drop the ball on Metallicas “ kill em all “album . I had to backtrack to that one after ride the lightening n then Master of puppets lol
Battery is also awesome. Edit: I love that you're doing this series. It's fun watching you react to these.
Seeing your genuine excitement is awesome!! Keep up the great work.
Omg this was fucking gold. You made me laugh so hard. There is something in you that reminds me of clowning with my twin brother when I introduced him to Metallica and Tool when we were in high school. Thank you for this!😂
And That my friend, is gen X music. We had the sickest music ever.
I don't wanna argue but this is soooo Millennial music!!!!! 😉 (can we share ... maybe?)
This is most definitely GenX, and we rocked the hell out of it!🤘
This was released during the millennial generation.
This was released 1991, sorry gen X but you gotta share this one with millennials.
You need to see the videos of Virginia Tech's football team coming out of the tunnel and onto the field to this song every home game. The stadium is lit😅!! 🔥🔥🔥
Start Jumping!
This!!
Your reaction was wonderful! This song is incredible!☮💜
If u ever saw the Yankees play ball on tv this was the theme song for their best relieving pitcher Mariano Rivera
Metallica actually performed the song at the stadium
😱 Metallica playing on a field that's not SF?? Blasphemy!! (Jk)
I had to turn up the volume about 10x now... I'm grateful for minimal interruptions
Loving the flow of content! Well done good sir. Well done.
Great reaction Mr Rob. You put a smile on a old man face. Rock On 🎸
My hands down favorite Metallica song, head banged right along with you, love it! 🎉
Check out "Nothing Else Matters." It doesn't sound like a love song, but if I remember correctly, it is.
Yep, it was a love song to the fans!
@@dux_bellorum I saw a documentary, or a video about it and it was a love song to a girl.
Always been my fav song that still gets bumped loudly to this day when I’m in the mood for Metallica 🫶🏽🙌🏾
Really dig your energy and enthusiasm! You got yourself a new subscriber!
I won’t stop recommending Nine Inch Nails until it happens! their lyrics are incredible and their sound is super unique. I recommend “March of the Pigs”
Don't know how hard you want to go with this experiment, but... If you're up for some Death Metal.... Arch Enemy - Handshake with Hell
This isn't even their best song, but it's a really good example of how she can go from the Death Metal growl to Clear Vox in a snap. She's incredible. And you know that guitar solo hits hard too.
Though, I think Death Metal might be a bit of an acquired taste.
Also, I just found your channel today and I think I watched the entire playlist in one sitting. I had it playing while I was working, but it was really a pleasure to see you getting into Rage against the Machine, Korn, Foo Fighters, etc... You also got me appreciating Billy Joel more than I ever did before, so thank you for that. Love your reactions. Thank you for all your hard work.
Then get Iconoclast from Decapitated with Rob Flynn or Hello Death from the same featuring vocals from Jinjer.
I was just thinking today how it was surprising you haven't uploaded any Metallica yet. Glad you did. One is a good one to listen to next. It was what first got me into them when i was a kid.
Love your reviews man.
Bruhhhhh you're a trip lmao this is awesome🤘🤘 great idea
my new favorite reaction channel
Thanks!
This is the entrance song for the great Mariano Rivera when he played fir the New York Yankees. Didnt even have to announce him. We heard this music and it was lights out for the opposi g team
If you listen to "One" you absolutely have to watch the music video. It adds so much to the song and tells an amazing story
Hold on a minute! I must warn you brother: You NEVER pause during a guitar solo. Legends say that in some states you can even go to prison for that.
LMFAOOOO I have no choice - it's too hype. LOCK ME UP
@@HollywoodRobTV😂😂😂
This song still gives me chills. I was I think a junior or senior in HS when this came out.
Man, I haven't listened to this song in ages! But I still remember all of it...
You better get a playlist started! You just opened a Pandora’s Box of BANGERS! The big name hits are all awesome too, but I LOVE some of the ‘B-side’ tracks that don’t get the same commercial love - No Leaf Clover (my personal absolute favorite), King Nothing, Seek & Destroy, Cyanide, Frantic, Shoot Me Again, Invisible Kid…. Their Saint Anger album (which has the last three songs I listed) got a LOT of hate, mostly because it was a bit of a departure from their earlier work, but it resonated with me as a teenager when it came out. Their newest release Lux Aeterna also has some incredible riffs - My two favorites from that have been the title track and Sleepwalk my life away. It was a HUGE cultural outrage when they cut their hair in the early 90s - they were the start of thrash metal, but were absolutely an essential part of the hair metal/headbanger scene. Didn’t change their musical prowess though.
St. Anger is absolutely overhated, it was so relatable to me when i was in middle school, like its not perfect but its a good album
The title of the latest album is 72 Seasons. I agree Lux Aeterna is also a banger, as is Sleepwalk my Life Away and so is If Darkness Had a Son.
Highly recommend Master of Puppets and Creeping Death from their 1991 concert in Moscow like other comments, but I will also recommend Fade to Black. Fade to Black will really open your eyes on what metal can sound like.
ruclips.net/video/-Zr_IcI3u60/видео.html - Moscow 1991 concert. Not a lot of crowd shots but there are a few close up ones. People are crammed in for sure.
LOL this young black dude who mostly listens to RnB sits next to me at my job discovered this song about two weeks ago and he was raving about it too
You HAVE to see the live in Moscow performance of enter sandman. It’s mind blowing!!
I need a Master Of Puppets and One reaction so bad
I remember when they marketed this song by driving through New York on the back of a flatbed truck singing songs from this album. Legendary.
Love to see someone really hearing it!!!
And this one isn’t even their best song.
Give master of puppets, for whom the bell tolls, fade to black etc. a go
Or Disposable Heroes
lol... I'm not sure it's even in their top 50.
I wonder if youll ever get around to ACDC. Thunderstruck is guaranteed to make you wanna jump jump. Dont that shit make a ___ wanna jump jump?
Seconded for Thunderstruck. Some other deeper cuts that are super fun are: If You Want Blood, You've Got It, Riff Raff and Shake a Leg
For Those About to Rock!
Your reactions are priceless.
Around that time the song was released, hip hop and alternative just exploded! Love that era of both genres. Awesome first half of the 90's. Such great fond memories of no worries and just being young and dumb. Ahh, to be young again..
OH BOY YOU DONE WENT AND DONE IT NOW. THIS RABBIT HOLE IS DEEEEP!
You should react to Moscow 1991. They stopped counting people after 1.6 million and the concert was totally free. They are the only band to have played on all 7 continents.
And they were not the headline band, it was AC/DC who, played first!
I love your energy!!
I love your energy man
Master of Puppets has to be next!!!!
We all want to see a video of you rolling with your homies blasting this song and having the time of your life.
DUDE!!! I EXPECT YOU IN THE PIT AT THE NEXT CONCERT NEAR YOU!!! ULTIMATE RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m a 73yo grandma and LOVE me some heavy metal. Great reaction Sonny ❤️😊
Try primal concrete sledge
Who’s in the White Hall of Fame so far? Dimebag Darrell, Billy Joel, and Metallica?
What about Layne Staley? For grunge I mean.
America still sleeping on Cold Chisel.
I love your reactions 😅
A fresh convert right here , ladies and germs! You’re now an official headbanger!!!!❤😂
Master of Puppets is definitely their biggest banger, but if you watched Stranger Things you might have already heard it. One, Battery, Blackened, For Whom The Bell Tolls, The Unforgiven 1 and 2, all great choices. They also have an entire album from their live show with the San Fransisco Symphony Orchestra that goes fucking hard. Hope you get more in to it, love hearing people explore them more.
S & M 1&2 are brilliant! I’m mad I just discovered them a couple years ago.
One.
My man, you were entertaining from jump! You got yourself a new subscriber! Well done, sir!
Thank you Rob.
If you wanna hear the most epic way to enter the industry, check out Hit the Lights off of Kill em' All.
That was their first song ever.
I'm so pumped that you gave them a shot Rob 🤙
Metallica was a lowkey Christian band and nobody knew it. Ther singer was a Christian and wrote songs with some light/hidden Christian themes.
I didn’t know that
@jrlikeshockey that would be because that is a lie. James Hetfields dad was an extremely abusive Christian Scientist. When James escaped, he wrote many songs about the abuse, including leper messiah and dyers eve. He never once returned to religion after going no contact with his parents.
It does say something about James that he sticks to Christianity pretty hard, given the incredible amounts of pain religion caused him when he was growing up.
@@wyrmsign207 Fr I thought so
Similar to Scott Stapp who had a crazy abusive fundamentalist father.
Thank you for putting respect on their name 🤘🏻
Certified classic banger right here
The entrance of The Sandman to this song, at ECW One Night Stand, was legendary
This song came out just as I started Basic Training in 1991. It got played a TON in the barracks.
Oh lord I need a live rock gig soon 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I just love the reactions people have our music.
This reaction made me a subscriber!
Saw them back in the 90's. The entire concert hall was vibrating
Its about cot death from an interview a few years ago with them. I listened to the lyrics afterwards and it broke me. Plus nothing else matters is top tier
Have never had so much fun watching a reaction video EVER Omg that evil laugh when the band lets loose 😂
Hahahaha thanks! 💪🏾
God damn bro, you are going to LOVE Metallica.
I am looking forward to this journey.
I grew up listening to this. Timeless song.
You should check out their album where they play with a symphony orchestra accompanying them. It elevates the music to a whole other level.
Favourite go song to get fired up to play hockey as kid for sure
I learned to play this on guitar in 2000 11th grade…still my jam
It’s always fun to see someone react to a song they’ve heard hundreds of times without actually realizing it.
