Trans am has a RUclips channel that I have been following for a couple years. I think they're trying to build the class back to its former glory. Races are actually pretty fun to watch check em out.
thanks for picking my livery to run in the review. Just and FYI....they had a ton of data from the manufacturers/teams for these cars. The engine specs should be right as they got data straight from the engine supplier. Heck of a good mod and one day the third car may see the light of day if someone would commission it.
I absolutely love these! Didn't really know anything about Trans-Am before these came out, but by now I at least know that TA2 cars are massively fun to drive! And VRC once again did an amazing job!
Oh man Mike.....Brother , every time I fall behind in the sim racing world , and need to get caught up , I always go watch your stuff first! I know this is an older video , but thank you a bunch for this. I loved the older Chev GTO that VRC did a few years ago , so these and a few other cars from VRC are getting bought today. Thanks for keeping us slacker's up to date!!
Well thanks Mike ,you come back and instantly I see that I need to go to VRC Modding to spend some more money. And yes, the word is visceral, Kind of like the By Collin .Studio looks pretty good man! Glad you got it done. Going to be FUN
The studio looks great, Mike. Really glad you decided to keep making videos. Your channel is one of my favorites. I'd love to see these in iRacing, but it seems nobody wants to drive cars that don't have flappy paddles, TC, and ABS anymore. Well, besides us crusty old school analog racing enthusiasts yelling at kids to get off our lawns. Sadly, it seems our days are numbered. *heavy sigh*
Great video Mike! My absolute favorite era of T/A is late 80's-Early 90's. These cars look and sound like great fun. Hope you and your family are doing well. God bless and race on 👍😎🏁
Bought these cars on Christmas, still love em to death. Now I'm hoping VRC releases some TA cars. That's the class I want in sim racing more than anything.
Hi Mike. How did you get the AI to drive at a reasonable speed? I turn it up to 100% and I'm about 7 or 8 seconds a lap faster than it with the TA2 cars and I'm not a super fast racer. I don't have this issue with other mods, so I wondered if there is a bug or fix with these. One of my simracing buddies has the same issue with the TA2 cars. I really like VRCs TA2 cars but can't get the AI to be competitive. Any ideas here?
If you liked the bykolles have you tried the updated Acura arx dpi car which was recently updated by the same folks? I found myself enjoying that even more than the bykolles, for reference take it around jm_Florida (Daytona)... things like that which keep me going back to rf2 lol. Truly a love hate relationship :)
That 1,200-kg figure translates to roughly 2,650 lb. And actually, I'm pretty sure a lot of the GT cars are right around there now. I know back around 2000, the GTS-class cars, and I'd imagine the GTs as well, were around 1,100 kg, but it seems like everything's gotten heavier lately. Just look at the hybrid F1 cars. The Ford GT40 Mk.II was north of 2,600 lb, too. I'd like to see a mod for the current, top TA-class machines. At the very least, you have the Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro and Corvette, Dodge Challenger, and Cadilac CTS-V. They still have a rather brutal appearance, but there's a bit more distance between them and "stock cars" in their aesthetics. And they make about as much power as anything out there.
I know this video is a bit old at this point, but I purchased this mod and am trying to do a race at the same Road America mod you’re using. The AI (even at 100% strength) are horrifically slow on the straight aways. And they sound very bizarre. It’s like they are stuck in 3rd gear and are just bouncing off the limiter or something. Was there something you had to adjust for that not to be the case?
I’ve been having the same issue but I believe it has something to do with csp as I was using an older version and they where doing 58 second laps but with the newer version they where going 6 to 7 seconds slower

I totally agree. Not a lot of viewership, but great racing action nonetheless
Australian series getting some decent attention
Indeed, the 1st race I’ve ever seen IRL was a Trans am race. Great experience, these cars are amazing

Thanks for the fantastic review Mike! VRC and I worked hard to bring real-to-life accuracy for these cars!

i love those cars! and that mighty roaring, rumbling and evil v8 sound
Love your new Sim Room!!! Glad to see you back
Thanks so much!!! It’s great to have a proper space to work in
@@SimRacing604 I'm still working on my room, got an Asr4 coming next week. Going have to say goodbye to my F-GT.
@@refinedinsanitysimracing oh good for you. That’s a cool upgrade. I’m sure you’ll love it
So glad to see the TA cars getting some love. I hope they make the remainder of the fleet. Thanks for the video Mike

I've been hoping for TA series cars. Glad I saw this. Thanks Mike!
My pleasure John! You’re going to love them
Thank you for this video! I've been looking for a TA2 mod for a few years since going to my first Trans Am Race back in 2020 at Road America.
Watched this series at Laguna Seca a year or so back. Very underrated spec car shame there isn't a ton of competition in the series
Always on point.
Thanks for showing me this Mike, I went and got them straight away. Now I just need to find a Dodge and some Australian liveries. Soooooo much fun!
That’s awesome! So glad you’re liking them. Thanks for watching
Wow, this brings me back to my NR2003 days. The Project Wildfire Trans Am mod was the absolute best for road racing.
cool vid and killer cars, I'm new to AC and loving it. Downloading cars and track right now looking forward to driving them.
They look like fun Mike ! Sound awesome. I like the idea of minimal assist’s in a powerful race car.
Yeah, what a fun pair of cars! You’ll love them if you get a chance to drive them
@@SimRacing604 be nice to see the Camaro’s added. Just watched a TA2 race at road America of these beasts. Now I’m hooked 🤣
Love Trans Am - and was wondering what you were up to - a new studio, cool!

Wow, never heard of this cars before, it looks phenomenal!
Really great! Have fun
We have TA2 in Australia & it is one of my favourite racing series. This is a bit pricey $$ for an AC car. Thanks for sharing
👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
Didn't drive Assetto Corsa since a long time, the sound is phenomenal, got to get them out
Hope they add the Dodge car as well. Also I know Triple 8 race team in Aus have a Mercedes version that going to run on Asian TA2 Championship.
Another nice material ! V8Supercars meets Nascar and GTE :)
Mike, what was that RF2 car you were mentioning as an all time favorite?
Thanks!

Same here the AI are so slow for me have no idea why?
I emailed VRC about this and didnt get a response from them,
0 out of 10 for customer support.......
I saw Chevy, so I click by default XD
Gonna have to try this mod tomorrow.
Give it a go!! You’re gonna love it
@@SimRacing604 Definitely will, and I've got some track mods to try it on in mind XD
what BB did u settle on? Or a setup vid would be great :) Having real fun but breaking even in a straight line is near impossible :)
some say, that just listenning to theese increase your testorone levels.
😂😂😂

I did try out the updated Acura. It doesn’t blow my mind the way the ByKolles did so far, but I’ll give it another drive. Thanks for watching!

nice and loud
If you started a series I would run it with you... something to think about
Sounds like 90’s atcc and V8 Supercars but with 300kg lighter and 150hp less.
I have an issue with this mod and AI, why are they soo slow?
I’ve been having the same issue but I believe it has something to do with csp as I was using an older version and they where doing 58 second laps but with the newer version they where going 6 to 7 seconds slower
@@matt_wrob2142 If you come across a fix, please post it here will ya?
what is this class and what are the rules?
i am very unfamilliar with these cars
Mike describe what the cars are at the start of the video. TA2 cars have series in Australia and Asia as well as USA.
@@ChrisCroft77 yeah i listened to it, but still dont get the rules or how the grid works. TA2 looks very interesting though.
Mare is a horse. It's pronounced mare. Not ma-ray. lol
Was good for a chuckle though.
Meh, I tried
Meh is close, but don't shorten the e so much
I stand by this, VRC and RSS make better cars than Kunos
Will say it again...These style of cars should replace the cup cars.
