Generally speaking people that hold a significant amount of power usually enforce their will on the ones below. Those who hold leverage dictate the terms of an agreement.
The ones who hold significant power have to adhere to someone in a even higher position of power than they are.
Imposition acquiescence. The ones at the top enforce their will on the ones below.
The key to power is leverage. If someone is signing your paycheck and that company that you work for is the only game in town you either get down or lay down.
If you get down like don't comply with the imposition you will be most likely fired. If you acquiesce aka lay down you will keep your job and or climb the ranks.
