Can you really blame them? Shane literally left the company years ago because he didn't want to be a part of the wrestling business. Stephanie, along with others voted to keep Vince off the board of directors. Vince literally tried several times to have an incest storyline with Stephanie Mcmahon which got refused several times before Vince gave up. Going as far as when she was first pregnant to make a storyline that it was his.
To be fair, both of his kids already worked with him for several years…the son worked with him for 20 years and the daughter worked with him for 34 years. Putting Rock in that position led to chants on Monday of Rocky Sucks. It didn't get over, there's a massive backlash right now due to forcing him into that position since the other guy (Cody Rhodes) has had a story revolving around winning the belt for 2 years and Rock shoehorned himself into it while not having a match in 10 years and people heard he used his influence to get in that position.

This isn't the first time it would happen either. Remember in 2003 he turned heel because he was getting booed after barely being around (granted I thought it was some of his best work). He got booed when he raised Reigns hand at the RR a couple years back and he recently got backlash for the thing he did with Oprah. He's the guy who's rumored to use his stroke to come in and force his way into the main event of WM over a guy who was a sympathetic babyface and at WM, it's all hardcores who are usually the ones most critical.

After he gave her an out and said he would probably never talk to her again, she called him and rekindled their relationship. If person has been allegedly abusing you for years with alleged threat of losing your job that you commited sex acts to get to begin with and they give you 5 years of pay with 10 more coming as severance, why do you call them of your own accord when its over? Why not legally enforce the NDA and get your money that you signed for?

This stuff is nothing new if you're a long time wrestling fan like me. Vince McMahon got Jimmy Snuka off a murder charge paying someone off in 1983. It wasn't until 2015 when they brought Snuka to court but he was ruled incompetent to stand trial.
Vince was always praised as a great heel, but the truth is he was playing his actual self. That's why all these storylines were so disgusting even at the time.
There are so many to name even one that was rejected by Stephanie regarding an incest angle. Vince belongs in prison. Long overdue.
I think multiple things can all be true at the same time. I was never allowed to watch WWE as a kid because of how it objectified women and other things. Everyone knows that Vince is a creep so it's not surprising he'd ask a woman to do crazy sexual things. At the same time it's really difficult to know what all was consensual and what wasn't. The way I was raised, none of it would have been acceptable. One, because you shouldn't cheat on your wife, and also because you never know what a person would do to you in retaliation.

Why is it so hard for these talking heads to say "rape." It isn't possible to have sex with an underage person. The word is rape.
I mean it depends on the state and the age. Age of consent varies across the US. So if you say someone raped a consenting 16 year old in Alabama where age of consent is 16, then you could open the door to a defamation suit. Bcuz technically the sex was legal despite the person being underage. It’s not worth injecting your feelings into it (all bcuz 16 is kinda gross) and then getting sued on the back end.
