  • Welcome back to the Twisted ADV Channel!! Today we are replacing a badly rusting Flowmaster 50 Series muffler and replacing it with a Flowmaster American Thunder Cat Back system. This is an fairly easy job that can be done in your driveway or garage and only requires a few tools to accomplish. One tool I would highly recommend is the exhaust removal pliers from Lisle. It made removing the old hangers a piece of cake and was well worth the $17 bucks.
    The American Thunder Flowmaster has a moderate to aggressive sound outside of the cab but inside it was a drone free exhaust and quieter than the 50 series. I do expect the note to change once the muffler opens up after the initial break in period.

    Thank you very, very much for this video. I bought the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust for my wife's Jeep, but hadn't installed it yet. Your video helped me out with the few sticky points I ran into this weekend. Very helpful, very well done video!

      Thanks brother! Hope you got it installed before the cold weather hit! I really appreciate the comment and I am glad the video helped out too. Just be sure to check for any exhaust leaks. I had to snug up two of the connections after about 1000 miles. Been good ever since. 👍

      @@86Ctopher Good to know! I'll double-check the fittings after it's had a chance to settle in. Thanks again!

    Did the 3.8 not come with resonator, or did you do a removal. I wanted a system like this but was told no room. 2014 2 door Sahara. Was told resonator was in way

      This system would work for the your jeep without issue. You just have to cut some of the extra length off the new american thunder system for the 2 door. It is in the instructions on how much to cut. On a stock system The resonator is removed and not used. My Jeep already had that removed when the previous owner added the Flowmaster 50 series muffler.

    I know this video is from a while ago but what size/brand lift kit is on this jeep? Tire size?

    • @86Ctopher
      @86Ctopher  Год назад

      So the lift is a 4.5 inch ICon lift (shocks and springs) and the tires are 37x12.50r17 Cooper Discoverer STT Pro. The tires are great and not overly loud on the road and smooth. I am near the end of their life and you can "feel" the tread a little more at slower speeds. Thanks for watching the video!

    I have a flowmaster on my 2016 JKU 3.6L 6 Spd. My exhaust dumps right before the rear axle. (This is how I got the Jeep.) Anybody know what series that Flowmaster is?

      without a picture my guess is the Super HP-2 American thunder. I know some will put a 40 or 50 series in the stock OEM position. 🤔

      @@86Ctopher Thanks. The Muffler looks like yours just in silver. Not chrome.

      @@dealy9268 I believe the HP-2 came in both black and standard. I have seen videos of it with just the bare metal and was surprised when mine came out of the box black. best of luck and thanks for watching the video
