Jeep Gladiator Muffler Delete with Dynomax Quiet Crawler Exhaust System Install + Sound Clips

- As much as Cindy and I love how our Jeep JT Gladiator looks with the tail end trimmed, the muffler or technically, 2nd resonator it exposed, was just ugly as sin. Needless to say, it had to go and while we may have been able to just cut it off, we were concerned about how the factory exhaust would sound and or drone without it. And, it's for this reason that we decided to install a Dynomax Quite Crawler System. Essentially, it's the exhaust system that Dynomax has been making for the 3.6L engine for years and it's one that we've run in the past and loved. In addition to sounding good to our ears, we've always loved the fact that it comes with a low profile bullet resonator, high clearance Super Turbo muffler and of course, a muffler delete. In this video, you'll get to see just how easy it is to install and as an added bonus, there's an extra tip in there as well. We hope you find our video to be useful.

It baffles me how this channel does not have a million subscribers. Your content is absolutely top notch. You're absolutely killing it. 😃
We're truly flattered that you would say as much. We'd be grateful if you could help spread the word and help others to find us. Thank you :)
I agree, your narration is absolutely spot on, your step by step assembly tips make me want to get out and get a muffler kit right now, and I guess thats the point also! Great Job
super clean! smart move cutting the last section in half, thank you for always explaining the process and stating what tool and size you're using, seriously some of the best videos on youtube!
Truly flattered you would say as much and we're glad to hear you enjoy our videos.
I couldn’t hear a clear difference until it recorder sat outside during takeoff … then heard a good difference!! I have been planning on doing this to my jlur and as always this video helped !!! Thank you so much … your install videos are second to none !!!
Awesome! So glad we can be of help to you with our videos 😎
Definitely sounds better and the look is night and day difference. Thanks Eddie and Cindy for another awesome video.
Glad we could share this with you 😎
I love how you don't have to put your truck on a lift to work on the exhaust! Sounds great and looks great! Awesome video as always you two!
Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed the video.
You've become my go to channel for jeep information and repairs! The only difference is that I live in the rust belt so my JK always has that outer layer of reddish orange and I need a couple of extra tools. 😂
Appreciate as always the step by step process that you go through on these projects.
Awesome! We're so glad to hear it 😎
Love your videos!
Simple and straightforward!
Keep up the great work man!
Just found my next upgrade for my Gladiator!
Awesome! Glad we could be of help to you.
Looks much better, sound is better as well and much better clearance. Great update Eddie. Thanks for another great video.
Thank you. Glad you like what you see and hear 😎
You make this look so easy! Step by step and explaining everything along the way. Love it! Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Looks great sounds like the exact same thing, looks so much better! The chop job was the right choice for sure.
Significantly better in sound and looks, nice job! 👍
Glad you like what you see and hear :)
Brother, love your JT! The subtle sound is real nice! Thanks for the great videos you put out!
Awesome! Glad you liked what you saw and heard 😎
Great video ! Simple install with great appearance and sound benefits. You’ve done it again Eddie !
Glad you enjoyed our video 😎
I always enjoy watching your videos. You do a very good job on explaining what you do and you do most of your own work
Glad to hear you enjoy our videos and thank you.
Much cleaner and just the right amount of exhaust note change. Something I think I would have done as well.
Glad you like what you see and hear. We're certainly happy with it, especially after hearing what the stock exhaust sounds like with the resonator cut off.
This is awesome. It’s definitely something I want to do on my gladiator in the future😎
I think that tail end chop is the greatest mod to the gladiator I’ve seen to date. Just can’t get over how much better it looks. Everybody with a gladiator needs to do it honestly.
Awesome and thanks! So glad you approve of our simple mod 😎
Can't wait for it to sound like a v8 😉
LOL - you know it's something we're wanting to do. 😁
@@wayalife Motech or Americas Most Wanted?
@@dougg8280 For me personally, there's no question - MOTECH!! 6.2L LT with an 8 or 10 speed trans
@@wayalife right on. I heard it long ago, "It takes a Chevy to make something run good"
Excellent video as always Eddie. The before and after videos were perfect. It sounds really great. 🥳
Glad you enjoyed it 😎
I did the straight pipe delete on my 2018 JL. The one you did a vid on a few years ago! Love the sound.
I love the way that sounds and looks I may go that route with my JTR.... *subscribed*
Awesome :)
Sold!! Sounds much much better. Great idea and upgrade 👍
Glad we could share this with you.
Sounds good. Not too obnoxious, just right. RIP Lisa Wade
Glad you like what you hear.
The nice quiet sound is excellent!!
Yup, about what factory sounds like and that's what we were wanting. The factory exhaust without the resonator sounded funny and droned.
After seeing this video I'd consider cutting off the resonator (it might sound better too), add the tip, and save $535+ shipping+ taxes. Always appreciate your videos Eddie/ Cindy.
Sound is totally subjective and from what I've heard, I didn't like it. We chose to go this route because the Dynomax kit sounded more like stock when all was said and done. But as I mention in the video, it is something we had considered doing.
Always top notch content 👍👍 First thing I did to mine was ditch the stock exhaust and bought a few sections of pipe, a tip, and a magnaflow straight through exhaust. Ended it right before the rear axle just behind the cab. It's fairly loud but I want to be heard on the trail incase someone is bombing around a corner hopefully they'll hear me and slow down.
LOL - nice. I've always liked Magnaflow exhausts.
Very nice install sounds great. Super easy install 👌 🙌
Glad we could share this with you.
Looks perfect and sounds great too. Greetings from the Netherlands
Thank you very much!
Took advice and bought a gladiator jtr diesel. Love it so far
Good choice!
Alright. 16 cuts just to take the new muffler out of the box...this is your trademark wayoflife... Love it. I had to slow it down to 25% of normal. I think I still missed 1-2 more. It's badassery
LOL - we like to have fun with our filming and glad to hear you enjoy our efforts 😁
@@wayalife I'm in it for the cuts...no jeep so besides the best DIY techniques I get a kick out of how you present it.
Not living in California any longer really helps with exhaust mods!
Sounds great, good and clean install
Glad you like it!
Looks good, really cleaned up the back end, plus it sounds good 👍👍
Glad you like what you see and hear.
I like it, keep the noise down and better departure! Smart
Glad you like what you see and hear :)
Sounds SO much better!
Glad you like what you hear.
That gladiator is stupid clean !!
Thank you 😎
Another great install video and the sound is a nice improvement. You’ve got me thinking that would be a nice upgrade for my JK.
We've run this exact same system on the 2012 JK we used to have and loved it.
@@wayalife great to know. I also have a 2012. The color is dozer and I love it.
Much cleaner look and sounds awesome Eddie!
Glad you like what you see and hear.
I put the super turbo on my 14, strictly for clearance reasons. The sound change is pretty subtle, but I do really like it. I think the biggest change in sound is when I get on it to pass on the highway.
Nice! 😎
an aftermarket exhaust that doesn't sound like complete high rapping chainsaw garbage. very nice!
Glad you like it too. I think it sounds pretty factory only a little deeper.
I really like it. Gave me an idea for my Gladiator also. Thanks Eddie
Awesome! Glad our video could give you some ideas for your Gladiator 👍
Awesome 👌 you always have great content and your gladiator rocks.
Thank you. We're so glad that you enjoy our videos and our Gladiator 😎
Love your videos and Gladiator content - after watching some of your lift install videos - it makes me want to kick myself for paying a shop to install my lift (didn't' realize Jeeps were so easy to work on compared to what I am/was used to).
Thank you. We're glad to hear you like our videos and you should consider doing your own work 😎
And, one time at Band Clamp....... Sorry, couldn't resist. Another great how-to vid.....
Edit... Looks awesome
LOL - glad you like what you see.
I wanted to hear it right after you removed the old pipes! Maybe next time. I really like how the home mechanic can install an exhaust system without going to a muffler shop. Nice job.
Looks great sounds about the same to me great video
Thanks and honestly, that is exactly why we decided to go with this kit. Because it sounds pretty much the same as stock. Cutting off the resonator sounded ricey and droned.
Sounds less restrictive, not louder, just less restriction to exhaust flow
and that is Better
Glad we could share the sounds clips with you.
Straight forward work as usual great comparison shot’s however I’m not hearing a big sound difference. And I know that’s what you wanted but I wonder how it would sound without the resonator…. Great video!!!
I love your videos, excellent up grade.
Thank you and glad you enjoy our videos :)
Amazing! Look & sound great!
Awesome! Glad you like what you see and hear 😎
Way cool brother. Kick back and enjoy a little woodford reserve before the mods begin
Having some Knob Creek now but Woodford sounds like what's next 👍
Aloha. You have an outstanding memory to installing your new exhaust at an outstanding speed time without referring to the instructions. Great 💼 work to your exhaust installation with your outstanding video 📼. Plus, it sounds much better 👍 too.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed our video 😎
It sounds and looks awesome
Glad you like what you see and hear :)
video here covers what is honestly one of my only gripes with my JT
FCA or whosoever calls themselves in charge now most certainly did their part in complying with the EPA and general sound nazis lol. not that a 3.6 was ever meant to be vocal or scream but SOME noise is nice every now and then. looks like a quality kit with a subtle sound change, may give them a look when i finally lose my marbles and want to make a little more noise than a sewing machine. thanks for the video eddie
Glad we could share this with you.
look really clean. great job man!
Thank you! Cheers!
Sounds way better and looks like you can’t see it which is how I like my tips. Nice Jeep just subscribed to your channel.
Awesome thank you!
Great video, when you work on your Jeep everything looks so easy 🤪🤪🤪✌️👍👌🥇💪🇳🇱❤️🇺🇸greetings from the Netherlands
LOL - glad you enjoyed the video and this really was that easy 😎
Another awesome install video you guys! The JT sounds and looks amazing!
So happy to hear you enjoyed our video 😎
Definitely flowing better.
Looks awesome. I love the JT, one day I might trade my JL in for one.
Thank you.
oh my goodness ilove this car..
I'm old and immature at the same time, I know. But every time you'd say "band clamp" I'd say "this one time at band clamp" in my head. 😄
LOL - you and just about everyone else on here or at least, if you look through the comments. But then, I'd be lying if I said that thought didn't go through my head every time I said it 😁
For sure 100% both better looking and sounding. I live simple things that make a noticable difference. I'm trying to decide which muffler delete to put on my jl.
Glad you like what you see and hear. Hope you find something you like for your JL
Look awesome !
It does look a lot better shortened, when I saw that pipe back there I thought ," not that much of a diff"
Yeah, leaving the pipe as is wasn't gonna be enough of a change or at least, not for us. Glad you approve of the extra trimming.
Looks and sounds great.
Awesome! Glad you like what you see and hear :)
Nice installation! Appreciate all the good tips. My only concern is having the exhaust exits under the rear of the cab area. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but rock crawling or parked, you may get some exhaust into the cab. Thanks!
Under the cab? I think you need to watch the video again and more closely. It exists BEHIND the rear tire and out to the side.
Not going to lie. I listened to this while getting ready for work and didn't watch any visuals. Granted, it was on my phone Speaker but I couldn't tell the difference
That's kind of the point. If you take off the last resonator on the factory exhaust, it sounds lame. With this kit, the exhaust sounds close to OE
@@wayalifeAhh got it
“This 1 time in band clamp”... lol. I couldn’t resist, sorry. Where are your safety glasses? Watched & don’t even have JT
LOL - glad you enjoyed the video.
#goals lol your gladi is so sick
Thank you.
Looks much better. I, however, would be slightly concerned that it would heat up the driver rear break/tire, looks like it exits pretty close. I would have adjusted the tail pipe to tuck up next to the frame and still exit out the back.
So far as I can tell, I can't feel any heat on the rear tire or brake.
Thanks Eddie. I'm into the look but couldn't hear any appreciable difference between the before and after, but bear in mind I'm not using a very sophisticated system.
To be honest, that was kind of the point, that it still sounded about the same. If we had just cut off the resonator, it would have droned and sounded off.
Looks like it will help against exhaust dragged on rocks too
Yup, nothing to drag now :)
I went with the carven over axle dump
Looks way cleaner but sound a little louder
Some little flow arrows would be a good addition on this kit.
Second sound is much more better.
Great video! Maybe I need a new exhaust for my 2021 2dr Rubicon! 😉 BTW, that 3.6L V6 moves that big truck pretty good!
LOL - it does okay. Would love to have a V8 under the hood though 😁
Sounds way better
Glad you like what you hear. Sounds close to factory only a little nicer. At least, in my opinion.
Another great video! Thanks Eddie!! Is there a similar setup for the JL? Not seeing anything on any of the Jeep parts websites?
Dynomax originally created this exhaust system for the 3.6L for the JK. I would imagine they have it available for the JL as well.
Thank you for your outstanding content
Glad you enjoy it!
Love this video, but I have a concern.. back pressure. The Gladiator has two cat converters each with two o2 sensors. I they sense any change in exhaust, the engine will not run properly. How do I know.. I had to replace all of my sensors and one cat converter (another story). QUESTION; Is there any concern here that changing the exhaust might require retuning the engine?
What I can tell you is that I have not had any issues with back pressure or otherwise since doing this modification.
Wow , great 👍 thank you
Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Very nice!
Thanks!
That’s so good, would love something like that on my JK
Dynomax offers the Quite Crawler kit for the JK. They've had it for a long time and it's essentially the same thing.
@@wayalife awesome even better
I don't why Dynomax would use a 5/8 muffler clamp.... Gladiators use metric tools. Hopefully they take note of your mod of cutting the tail piece and consider doing that at the factory. Very clean job. I like the finished product
It's not just them, it's pretty much every aftermarket manufacturer. SAE is cheaper than metric bolts and I can only assume this is why they use them instead.
Very nice how about some budget suspension options for us poor folk. Great video.
We have a bunch of videos that cover that for the JL :)
I can’t wait to get h gladiator this year 😅😅
Rear attack angle is so much cleaner.... If you drop off of something in the back, the muffler is not the first thing to get hit.
Man, you had me worried you weren't going to put a down turn on that pipe.
LOL - had to do it :)
Does it sound much diff in person? To me it sounds almost the same. Maybe a lil louder than stock. I can’t decide between this, afe mach force, and awe trail edition.
You're hearing things right. It's about the same and that's what we like about this kit. Cutting off the factory resonator would have left it sounding off and it would have a drone.
@@wayalife and yah def don’t need that headache!! Keep up the vids Ed. As of 11/24 my Jt has been assembled just has to pass final inspection! Hopefully just a couple more weeks!
Awesome, I'm excited for ya!
I would have just cut off that factory resonator like he said at the end of the video to save money, not sure if the money for dynomax is worth it in my opinion since its basically a factory system muffler with no HP gains. But then I am the type of guy that will redo an entire exhaust to make it sound meaner and gain HP. Aero Turbine muffler has always been my favorite on all my jeeps.
LOL - yup, like I say in the video, that is something you can do. I chose not to because I've heard what it sounds like without the resonator. Ricey and droned. This kit helps to keep the sound of the exhaust similar to stock, how I like it. But then, that's just me.
Good video 👍👍👍👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️😃
Thank you! Cheers!
Will this tail pipe cut work with the stock spare tire in the factory location? I love what you did. Just wanting to keep my spare in the same location with my 37" KM3. Thanks for the future reply!
Yes, it will especially if you keep your heat shield in place.
@@wayalife Thank you for your speedy response! Love the page!
I was thinking about straight piping my gladiator...not sure though.
A little hard to tell
Seems like muffler could be rotated up a little more
And resonator looked lower than skid ?
Yup, hard to tell in a video but the muffler is way out of the way and the resonator is sitting measurably higher than our old beat up factory resonator.
This one time at Band Clamp.
Superrrrrrrrr 👍🏼, is the same thing for the 2022 ?
So far as I know.
Boy, those metals sure blued quick. Looks great, but any work about having the hot exhaust that much closer to the rear wheel?
No worries. Not seen it be an issue.
For the problem it solved looks like a great solution. On another note how did you install your spare tire on the roof rack? I ordered an RSI Smart cap EVO A with a RSI roof platform & was thinking of mounting the spare on it so I can install the drawer system & still have space to haul things without a spare in the way.
We use something like this amzn.to/3EgpGQI
