His life is better than any reality tv show his list of achievements would be almost unbelievable if the majority wasn’t caught on camera
I love that Jeremy Wade decided to end River Monsters after he caught literally everything. I think it shows that he truly was in it for the love of fishing and to educate rather than for money cuz he probably could’ve milked this series to exhaustion by just recatching stuff constantly
Season 52 episode 3 "Bass to mouth" What aggressive predator is lurking in these ponds and creeks? Numerous reports of blue gill sunnies going missing. Some say there's a blood thirsty killer and sunnies are on the menu. *shows bass swim by camera quickly* Tune in as we hunt down the monster of the golf course ponds. The largemouth bass!
As a avid fisherman myself the show really didn’t put into perspective on how hard that actually is to catch all those fish all the time spend waiting and not catching anything. A true legend
I havent caught many fish, but from what I HAVE caught, it's really just a shit ton of luck stacked like a pancake. Sure there's some skill, but you need mountains of luck to find the right fish, hook said fish, then LAND said fish. Any number of things can go wrong. Predation, snags, it spits the hook or bites through it, line or rod snaps.

Bear Grylls never claimed to be spending days in the wilderness surviving while filming. He was just giving survival tips. People got confused because Les Stroud was doing the actual survival thing at the same time.
To be fair, bear grylls never said he was out there spending days on challenges. The entire point of the show was 'this is a real world situation that happened, and here is how you should get out of it with the equipment you've brought.' There's some points during episodes where he mentions eating premade survival meals with the crew/drinking water because it was so brutal. With that being said, everything he ate was real. Drinking his own piss, eating embryo, squeezing water out of elephant poop, and eating grubs. He's also admitted this openly both during/after his shows air/cancellation on interviews.
This guy survived a jungle plane crash, saved a dude from a stranded island, got his bicep torn by a 400 pound stingray and still caught it even after 2 hours of fighting, and caught every single river monster to the point that there were no more monsters to catch. This guy has protagonist status.

I remember the first episode I saw where he goes after the guch catfish in the Himalayan mountains. It was like 2 hours of him tracking this thing. He built it up like it was going to be this insane monster fish. He showed what a small one looked like and then showed how it was a catfish with actual teeth. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up because I was like if that thing can get as big as he says that is an actual River monster. Of course he goes on this quest and it comes to the end where he’s realing in the fish. He risks his life rod in hand and jumps in the river to save the line. I was like he’s not gonna catch anything crazy that’s always how these shows workout on TV! Dude him and like three other dudes grabbed this fish by the tail and as they pulled it onto the bank it thrashed and it’s head came out of the water. I felt my jaw hit the floor, I was almost in shock! From that point on I was an avid River Monsters fan thank you Jeremy.
"This river is known for numerous fishing related deaths. Rumor around the village is, there is a massive catfish lurking in the waters. I'm going to try to catch it shirtless and with my bare hands."

Plane crashes, his arm gets wrecked, and he *investigates, solves, and catches the perpetrator of a string of murders*
Finally someone to respect and compile this chad's legacy!
Jeremy Wade was a hero for a lot of us born in the 2000s the captain for sure
Jeremy Wade with cool phonk intro, hell yes
The man who made my childhood
I know nothing about fishes or fishing yet whenever River Monsters is on screen I can't stop watching it, it's fascinating
oh man I wish I was Jeremy Wade - Great vid bro
"This river is known for numerous fishing related deaths. Rumor around the village is, there is a massive catfish lurking in the waters. I'm going to try to catch it shirtless and with my bare hands."
Jeremy Wade is a living Legend
Jeremy’s passion for fishing was contagious when I was younger. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be into fishing as much as I still am
What an absolute boss, id love to see him on joe rogan or something he'd have some unbelievable story's 🤙
Great video as always but!
I second this!
Nah I literally just had a video of his recommended so I watch it and now I’ve got this 😭 man sounds like a legend though fr
Bros the main character 💀💀💀
Our legend, every angler that grew up in the early 2010s watched him.. he is my hero inspired me and so many others
Jeremy wade has always been a legend
I grew up with this dude catching monsters that I don’t think I missed an episode when it first aired. The guy won at life. Getting paid to go on insane fishing trips of a life time all while loving every single second of it. You could tell that’s what happiness looks like lol
He is up there with Anthony Bourdain in terms of my favorite personality and who they are. Jeremy really helped me in my childhood just as much as Anthony. I was legit depressed for a couple days when i heard the news of Anthony
Same here. I still feel depressed about Bourdain sometimes tbh. Him and Jeremy are huge role models for so many.
as a kid, i always went nuts for every new episode of river monsters. it'a honestly just one of the few geniune reality shows and jeremy wade is just an overall badass
0:40 as an American I literally have no idea what any of that meant
Lmao. Read this comment as that part played and it Fr sounded like a foreign language
The reason why that show ended was that dude just had a platinum trophy in fishing. What a Chad
I don't care about fishing at all, but this guy is the boy like.
As a kid I absolutely loved River monsters. I think I’ve seen every episode, it was very nostalgic remembering all these episodes from my childhood
Met him once on my walk home (he was doing overdub work in a studio nearby); friendly, chatty guy :-)
I was watching him when I was tiny man I loved his story’s so much
River Monsters was canceled cus there wasn't much left to catch...he ran out if stuff to film 😂
He didn't retire, he accomplished the mission
