  • Knee stretch on the reformer is an exercise that people commonly find tricky when they start equipment Pilates. In this video, Kimberley will take you through some of the common mistakes, and allow you to see how it is done well!
It’s tricky because it takes a lot of body awareness. Mistakes are common when learning this exercise.
Knee stretch requires the ability to dissociate, or separate, the hip movement from back movement, and maintain the same lumbar spine position while the hips are folding and unfolding.
Once you get the hang of knee stretch, it is a great way to challenge your abdominal strength and support for your spine, hips and shoulders.

Great video Kim. Would it be best to use the lightest spring for this exercise?

Yes you can! It just makes it super challenging in a different way, you have to control the carriage much more in both directions
