This is on T.V. right now. The on screen guide describes it as:
"Godzilla and Jet Jaguar meet big cockroach and black chicken"
Lol 😋 😋😋 😋
Now I wanna hear Brandon dub over Gigan with "Oh I get it, it's because I'm a BLACK chicken monster isn't it?"
Giant lizard and giant robot fight giant bug and giant alien
It's on Comet TV now. 1/1/ 2021 More Godzilla until 2 Am. Then Science fiction movies.
@@JohnDoe-jq1mi lol what the fuck ?
Fun fact: In Spain the movie was called "Gorgo and Superman meet in Tokyo", and Jet Jaguar is called "Superman" and Gigan is "Gorgo". So, in Spain this movie counts as "Japanese Superman".
I just can’t hate on this movie - it was my first Godzilla experience! But... yeah... most of it is not good.
Monster Island Buddies hello there old friend
I bring Justus lol I would never
Hey dude! Nice seeing you here!!!
Yeah wasup Mib
FuCk!!!!!!!!
As a child, I always appreciated the fact that Gigan and Megalon were instant buddies. They both had weird not-hands, they both hated Godzilla and uppity robots, Gigan was a cyborg that worked for cockroach aliens, Megalon kind of was a cockroach-alien cyborg, they had a very similar sense of evil humor, they took time out of their final battle to high-five, do a victory shimmy, and screech maniacally...I think they might be the only Godzilla kaiju team-up of an Earth monster and a Space monster not facilitated by mind-control.
I wish they would make godzilla vs the space monsters earth defense featured godzilla anguirus and Majin tuol fighting king ghidorah gigan and megalon the three evil monsters are controlled by an alein brain called miko has a theme park and the godzilla tower which gigan mistook for the real godzilla in two scenes megalon eventually all monsters attack directive this flim was to feature all the monsters just more monsters and we're there in the final flim every single monster that had didn't apperd in the toho's flims is known that the monsters on monster island would bred and cross bred with each other and fed by food cultural in a giant underwater ranch
I wish they’d bring back megalon.
Yeah I ship it too
Their dynamic is kinda like that of cousins that played together a lot as kids and then reunited as adults.
Wouldn’t it be funny if In the next Godzilla review, Brandon uses stock footage of his own riffs
DaikaijuDownUnder fucking *right*
LOL yes do it just for shits and giggles
he already did it in the Gamera reviews, but he should do it again!
Yes it SUCKED. 😂
He probably could.
Dude, if I was a kid and I got to create a superhero that'd hangout with Godzilla in a legit movie, I'd lose my shit no-matter how the movie turned out.
Interestingly, that was apparently how the designer of 90s American Godzilla felt when he saw Toho have Real Godzilla kill his creation on-screen in seventeen seconds.
This movie is the reason why I became a Godzilla fan.
Quality-wise, It's not good. But I cannot, nor ever will I ever bring myself to hate it.
Too bad it's not "Still the Best" ;)
Goji73 I like ur little shorts that u made all those years ago
Exactly. I mean who in their right mind could hate that drop kick? Or Jet Jaguar?
"Ebirah" for me.
I feel like your doing this because you want attenchan
Kid: Hey look! I found some funny powder
Brandon: *SNORT IT AND OVERDOSE KID*
I didn't know that Jet jaguar was suppossed to be the main star of the movie. I remember thinking he was kinda cool as a kid. I adopted a black cat in 1999 that I named "Jet Jaguar" because of this flick. Very few people ever got the name reference.
This was one time where Brandon got his facts wrong. Godzilla vs. Megalon was never supposed to be a solo Jet Jaguar movie. That's a popular myth, but there's no evidence or sources that back this up. The movie was originally supposed to be Godzilla vs. Red Moon, but that film ended up getting cancelled. The character of Megalon was originally supposed to appear in the film Godzilla vs. Gigan alongside Gigan and King Ghidorah, but was dropped from the film.
He reminds me of Ultraman, with an annoying smile painted on his face.😂
Jet Jaguar is my all-time favorite kaiju. He is great. In the games he really shines as well.
You will get your chance to shine again Jet Jaguar...some day.
In singular point, where they somehow made gabara look cool
He was in the PS4 game. It was cool seeing him there
Someone needs to add a "Kenny" page to TV Tropes. It's a legitimate trope and I don't think there's already an entry for it.
It's not a trope, it's a MOTIF, dammit!
What's the origin of the "kenny"s? I feel like I'm missing something.
@@stevenb8611 The kid from Gammera The Invincible (thrd dub of the first gamera movie) was called Kenny
@@jesusramirezromo2037 sweet thanks
I think "The Tagalong Kid" covers Kenny.
"How a tiny robot suppose to fight a giant monster"
Answer:
You go Ultraman on it's asses
But Ultraman would solo Gigan and Megalon.
The seatopians can build a fully functioning underwater city and a sun but not a robot.

Fun fact: "Roku-san" is played by Hiroyuki Kawase, who also played Ken in Godzilla vs Hedorah. 90% of Roku's annoyance factor comes from that dubbed voice.
Ken Yano. Bang! As loud as that?

If only the John Belushi in Godzilla costume scenes had survived. I saw it when it aired on TV in 1977. It was unbelievable.
I saw it too! I even remember some of John Belushi's lines ...
"Well, i'm on a lunch break right now, how about a pizza? Half filipino, half outer mongolian. But no japanese. Can't bite the hand that feeds you"! [starts laughing]
Then a giant styrofoam boulder is thrown at Belushi, he falls over and a comically-reworked Godzilla roar plays before going to commercial.
Kid friendly godzilla movie has nude pics in the back window of the bad guy's container truck.
JamcalX I’m glad someone else noticed that. I was sitting in my car and bam! I saw nipples in the video.
Bart Lewis There's some bush, too.
I was wondering if anyone else noticed that. I didn’t notice until the 3rd watch
Playmates Gloria Root and Deanna Baker.
That's like from terror of mechagodzilla where they showed the girls breast during her surgery which I didn't catch until I watched it last year and was like, "Holy shit, tits!"
"You know guys, I've just realized how weird this movie is. It's kinda goofy!" How little you know, Tom Servo.
Something that might make you feel better about this film; you may recall that at the end of this film, the two men put the Kenny on Jet Jaguar's shoulders. You may also recall that Jet Jaguar spent a lot of time in close contact with Godzilla. You may also recall that Godzilla is radioactive. That kid is dead.
Mom: Let's watch this monster movie. Me: Okay. Sees naked posters in villain van. Shuts off movie and questions how it got a G rating.
70s were cool, that's why. Shame modern films aren't like older kids films
3:28 oh no annoying Kenny! Brandon's one weakness!
He's got the moves like Jaguar!
This is probably the funniest Godzilla film ever made. The fight scene between the Kaijus were basically wwe with suits on.
AND HIS NAME IS KONG CENA!
I mean that’s how alot of the showa godzilla films were when it came to the monster fights
Godzilla vs Megalon is one of my favourite Godzilla movies. They had this as a kiddie feature when I was a kid. They had free popcorn and showed a three stooges short, and a cartoon and this movie.
*Me, "Surely the kid can't be that bad in this movie?"
The second the kid opens his mouth

Honest Dave he's actually not that bad in the japanese version.
@@Go4Bro Except the kids who appeared in Godzilla 2014 and Godzilla king of the Monsters (2019). Then again, the kid in the 2014 one barely had any appearances so that makes him tolerable.

Still hoping that someday they'll use Megalon in another film. I think the character design would translate really well to a modern update.
Didn’t they show his dead body in Final Wars?
@@steverogers2603 Um.... no.
Missed a perfect opportunity to make a Pacific Rim joke about how alien life came from deep beneath the Pacific.
Great video!
Aliens in pacific rim were from another dimension that just happened to have a portal there.
There is a line in the movie that states that aliens come from deep beneath the Pacific. I know they have a portal there. lol
Necrowolf81 now we need an Ultraman Ripoff to fit the Pacific Rim lore.
Using a reference to a Murican made overbudgeted Super Robot hommage to make fun of a 70's Japanese kaiju movie... would b in bad taste.
Are Atlanteans alien?
I lost it when he said Easter islands next to Passover island 😂😂😂
Me too
*I don't think so, I thought Megalon was a pretty awesome movie, also you gotta love Jet Jaguar and his theme.*
Haha good joke
Happen to know ben10 ? I just saw some again recently and realize the alien 'waybig' on it looks surprisingly similar to jet jaguar.. Not a dead ringer but any means but was weird to see lol and it also is the size of a kaiju
The Kenny character wouldn't have been so bad if they had come up with a realistic voice over for an English speaking boy aged 8 or 9. I mean what boy that age talks like that? Unfortunately, there is no female character in a tight outfit or a mini-skirt to help easy the pain of hearing this Kenny.
No if, ands or buts about it, Godzilla and Jet Jaguar are the best wrestling tag team ever. Jet Jaguar should have his own movie.
I’m not a huge fan of these type of movies but your commentary is just hilarious. 😂
This movie probably isn't the best one to introduce somebody to Godzilla (unless you're 8 years old) but it does provide a lot of riff opportunities.
Why tho?
blasphemy
I'm a huge fan of these movies but godzilla vs megalon isn't really the best introduction for new fans.
You guys are cute
Also fun fact according to the German version of Godzilla vs Megalon, Jet Jaguar is apparently King Kong in a robot suit!
Yes and in Spanish he's Superman
Another great Godzilla review from you.
So technically megalon is a good guy... that's interesting
Godzilla revenge please.
Rory Lumley f*ck you.

Knowing how vocal he’s been about hating it, I think he’ll only do it when he runs out of Godzilla movies to review. I remember him saying in one of his early Godzilla reviews that he would like to do NEARLY every movie. I’m assuming Godzilla’s Revenge is the one that’s off limits besides the Monsterverse, anime trilogy, and all the modern stuff.
I really love Godzilla’s appearance in this movie. He looks really adorable and child friendly
I started my day with a kidney stone. This vid has made my day much better.
Brandon's Cult Movie Reviews: Totally better than a kidney stone!
This was my first Godzilla movie when I was a kid so it has a special place in my heart.
Even Megalon is like "DAFUQ!"

Idk why but i like alot when godzilla teams up with other monster
I remember this being one of my favorite Godzilla movies when I was kid... though I suppose to an 8 year old kid, it's definitely ticks all the boxes.
They were going for kids, and they didn't miss. Can't fault them for that.

Jet Jaguar is Basically Toho's Precursor for What Would Later Become Zone Fighter.
This movie is a Guilty Pleasure of ours. That Flying Godzilla air kick is totally hilarious to us! XD
The dam sequence is surprisingly good. Some of the series' best miniature work, IMO.
Watching this film as a little kid when it was released in Spain was a psychedelic experience in its own right. Everything about it is so surrealistic: the protagonists' funky house, the blonde mustachioed villain, the dance numbers, the Easter Island statues, the moment when the robot just fucking _grows._ To top it off, in the Spanish dub they changed the robot's name to _Superman_ and they titled the film "Gorgo y Supermán se citan en Tokyo". Because WHY NOT. For years, I was convinced that I must have dreamed the whole thing, until some classmates confirmed that they had watched the film too.
11:48 well... there’s something you don’t notice on your shit VHS quality version of the movie at home. I had no idea this movie had nudity in it. Lol.
Maybe I would have liked this movie more as a kid if I had the DVD.
I know right
D Man1954 I thought he said Terror of Mechagodzilla was the only Godzilla movie featuring nudity 🤔
Wait, what!? *Checks* Well, dayum. Japan's got some serious nerves putting that in a kids movie. Huh, not bad looking either.
If you didn’t know the first Godzilla movie also have that

The Flying Drop-Kick was perfected by Billy Quan from the sketch comedy show "Haywire."
I watched this movie many times as a kid in the 80s. It was the first Godzilla movie I ever saw, and I was hooked.
The VHS copy of the movie I had of this growing up actually had Godzilla Megalon fighting on top of the Empire State building to
Best title card ever, give the guy a bonus this week.
GREAT IDEA! I'll be sure to share that with Brandon ;)
Oh shit, I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy! Keep up the good work, man.
My gram got this movie on vhs at a dollar store when I was like 4 way back in the late 80's. I wore that tape out. I had a big ass, plastic Godzilla and he did the tail slide kick on every toy, dog, cat, and person I knew. I know it's a terrible movie, but it's still my favorite.
I actually saw the MST3K version of this pretty early on as a re-run on Comedy Central before I even turned 13, which was actually my intro to GODZILLA VS. MEGALON before I saw the original non-MST3K version. And yeah, it really kinda sucks, but - I know I'm going to get wrapped in the mouth for this - I think this is slightly better than GODZILLA VS. GIGAN. Granted, I actually would have liked more scenes of dancing Japanese women in Seatopia and could have done without the kid throughout the whole movie, but the fact that they managed to add two new characters to the Godzilla universe is kind of refreshing, and the fact the GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA followed afterward is a blessing. In any case, I'll just count my blessings that this wasn't as stupid and obnoxious as GODZILLA'S REVENGE. And with Legendary Pictures trying to create it's own Kaiju Universe to match Marvel's Avengers series, it makes me wonder if either Gigan or Megalon will show up - they probably won't, but the fan art responses to the latest announcements involving Legendary's own Godzilla series is pretty awesome and I'm already presold.
Godzilla v Megalon was one of my first Godzilla movies i watched (of course i fast-forwarded to the action). 18:11- “Screw ya guys, I’m goin home!” also.....DO GODZILLA FINAL WARS FOR MY SAKE (FYI Allan Rickman is Prof. Snape. Also, he’ll be missed. RIP.). Also, Hiroshi is just Goro’s friend and Rocksan (Rokuro in the Japanese version) is Goro's little brother.

That model airplane the kid throws at the villain looks just like a model airplane!
I was at the premier in San Francisco, where Bob Wilkins of Creature Feature fame was handing out buttons at the entrance. It was part of a double feature including The Giant Spider Invasion. Little did I know, as a young lad, what truly priceless movies I was watching that day.
This one will always be one of my favorites. I always think of watching an old vhs tape of it with my grandfather when I was young. Good times.
As a kid I loved the "Monster wrestling"...four suits just beating beating the shit out of each other!

Godzilla vs. Megalon was my first journey through Godzilla's History when I was 5 years old. It holds a dear place in my heart.
Gotta be honest, this is one of my all time favorites in the Godzilla series.
Something about this movie I loved growing up in the 70’s. Yes, perhaps this movie was geared towards a younger audience but that doesn’t make it any less of a Godzilla film! This was the era of giant robots in Japanese culture and I loved it as an Ohio kid! My favorite Godzilla film. It’s quirky campiness mixed in with the robot, the inventor (who I always assumed was the uncle by the way) and yes-the kid, made this a magical film. That water floaty thing that the kid was paddling in the beginning of the movie-in the 70s that was such a surreal looking thing. It looks goofy as all heck now, but back then it was such a neat strange thing to see that kid riding it. I wanted one! The robot yes, looks ridiculous now. In the context of the 70s, it was incredible! Hard to believe I know. Love this Godzilla film.
I want one now
As bad this movie is I love it for how bad it is
