Days Gone is an action-adventure survival horror game set in a post-apocalyptic open world, played from a third-person perspective. The player controls Deacon St. John (Sam Witwer), a former outlaw-turned drifter and bounty hunter who prefers life on the road to wilderness encampments. The game takes place two years after a global pandemic occurred which killed almost all of humanity, and transformed millions of others into "Freakers", mindless zombie-like creatures that are quickly evolving. In the E3 2016 stage demo, two types of "Freakers" were revealed, Newts and Hordes. In the E3 2017 stage demo, infected animals such as bears and wolves also were revealed to also comprise the "Freakers", and human enemies are revealed to be featured in the game as well..

This game was way better than IGN gave credit for.
@Colton Moore It's one of my favourite games ever actually
Typical of IGN, really.
Colton Moore well if that’s the case then it makes sense they’re multiplayer fans to the point that they shit on solo games
IGN is more like I got nothing
And it led to several youtubers immediately writing it off and never finished
This game was screwed over by reviews. I finished it a few weeks ago and it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played. Really hoping for a sequel.
Likewise, Finished the last 30% on PS5 with the boost and it looks so good!
This game didn’t get the credit it deserved and I really don’t know why. Only thing it was missing was an online factor, if you could have a friend join you that would be amazing
Sony canceled the sequel in favor of a remake of the first Last of Us game. Hopefully it will come back sometime soon.
The reason they screwed it was that it wasn't rainbow colored woke puke
@@SuperAllosaurusRex thats dumb
It's not woke Enough to get SJW and feminists validation. The protagonis is an old school a straight manly masculine.
I believe the "they're coming for you" was directed at Deacon himself. I mean come on, the guy was injecting himself with NERO drugs and gained stamina, focus, and damage resistance/resilience. His body is reacting well to whatever they've been cooking up.
Wooohh you're correct man, this must be the thing
I know im late for this but i agree so much to this one. Besides there is some way Nero can manage to know what you are doing to their things (injector) so probably the Nero next target will be Deacon. Maybe I don't know? A sequel?
like alice in resident evil movie
maybe in dayz gone 2 deacon would be just like O Brian maybe stronger and sarah would get killed by some raiders leading to deacon wanted revenge on the humans becoming what he swore to destroy a freak killing humans….and other freakers ofc
Or there are people who didn't do this and did a no nero injector run
Would make the next game weird would it not?
I like how the game begins and ends in the exact same spot
Huh? Didn't it began at crazy Willie's and end at lost lake or the militia
@@knightmare6619 Right before that is where the game begins. Where you find that one dead woman who points you to where Leon is and this video right here is where the game truly ends.
@@TheGunslinger44 The game doesnt technically end here. The NERO storyline does, but the Hunting Leon (the mission the game starts on) and NERO storylines are different.
@@iguy533 still, Nero storyline is still the final ending
Full circle, completion of a journey.
Make you think what Deacon has been putting in his body when he uses a NERO injector.
Ya I'm praying there Is a sequel within next 2 years if possible nd I hope when, deacon isnt infected by the injectors.
I had the same thought pop up in my mind! If Deacon had those power ups, what or who’s to say the rest of the Nero personnel didn’t use them either?? They probably did and it was a strain of the virus that manifested itself differently
@GrizzFawkes44 Maybe DG2 will have u being Sarah's test dummy nd her trying to cure u....
Could it be a strain of the virus
Ha I just added same thought before seeing your post
I don't even think IGN actually played this game. The people who did loved it, I love it. Can't wait for a Days Gone 2
So true, I can't respect anyone's opinion that gave this less than a 7. I was hooked an hour in, 100% all storylines.
It wasn’t IGN, but there was a review that was actually caught in a lie with their review. The reviewer never touched the game and wrote a horrid review on the game.
i dont think there will be a 2nd one more like a big dlc
That’s what I’m thinking. No way they BEAT the game. Once you play it all the way through its entirety, no way you give it a 6/10. It gets better and better after every cut scene
I can kinda see why they gave the story a bad score dont get me wrong the story is great but that's mostly because of your relationship with boozer I didnt really care for Sarah's character that much and her part in the the story besides the fact that you relize shes working for a cure can be summed up to a bunch of fetch quests
Knowing that there is absolutely no plan for DG2 this ending drives me crazy. This is hands down, one of the best games I've played.
bend studios teased a new game last month and has been posting a ton of days gone content which started days before it was released, they've also been posting siphon filter content which is the same universe on a different timeline, so it's very likely, we're getting another days gone or a siphon filter direct tie in to days gone.
I played it from the beginning 3 times, regular, hard and survival mode. The first time I finished the game, all missions, hordes, whatever, I felt sad it was over.
I have a theory I'd like to share;
Deacon having been in the world for so long, there is no way he and the others weren't in some way infected. I theorize that the survivors, over the last two years, mutated themselves. Becoming a strain that made their bodies susceptible to the further mutations of the virus. The few who lived have a dormant version (possibly complete version) of the virus. No one in the world, who has their mind in tact know how to activate it. NERO is attempting to research how to reverse or make the virus less active, maybe slowing it. Until Deacon starts finding the NERO injectors. These are experimental activators that the virus latches on to and allows the mutations to respond in a specific way, without damaging the nervous system or mind; enhancing it instead. This is why, over time, Deacon becomes more powerful and better able to react. Slowing time when he focuses. Having extended endurance, able to run for longer times. More physically resilient. In caves he sees in the low light really well, when no light is present. These may seem like video game mechanics to make a fun game with character progression, but what if its indicative of him being a perfected version of the viruses evolutionary growth.
Next;
What if what is coming is the NERO group, but for Deacon. Maybe when he took the samples of the Reacher mutation, he got some of his DNA involved and it got sequenced in such a way that NERO realized someone out in the world has, not just a cure, but a method of controlling the mutations. Now they want Deacon so that they can perfect their weapon and either cure themselves or further weaponize it.
Sorry. Long winded. My imagination runs away with itself sometimes.
Great video though.
Honestly I love this theory !!! It’s makes so much sense tbh .
Great Theory Man.
Awesome theory!
its like in the resident evil movie
@@kurtstevendue5811 didn't even think if that. My theory is similar. That movie was just bad tho.
What if the hazmat suits NERO wears are less about protection from the environment & more about creating a personal ecosystem.
Maybe those respirators have some type of chemical cocktail that keep infected people sane & in control.
Love it. Not thought of that!!!
Yes, that was my thought, they are to protect the infected from the unaffected and vice versa. Looking forward to a very possible sequel.
And that’s why obrian was going to attack him without his helmet
Good idea.
That's a very clever inference, sir. Impressive

Well. I think those were the parts pf the virus that will give you strenght and other stuff without the part of the virus that will make a freaker from you. The colonel was crazy but he was right in some things. The true enemyes aren't the frekers but the other humans.
@@alphariusomegon7255 true I have a question how to get explosive bolts
Is Deacon somehow superhuman with those nero injectors he self inject or is that just for gameplay?

This is the only game where I honestly fear the dark. When night falls and you can hear the hordes leaving their caves and start to roam the land, that's creepy af and I always thought: "Damn, I gotta get to safety quick!" No other game has managed to do that so far.
LOL... I was playing it for the third time the other day and thinking this exact thing... for the third time. Nothing like the first time though. They come at night mostly...
This my first time playing this game, I have it on hard mode and nothing pisses me off more than hordes. Pride doesn’t help either I cannot run I need to kill em all and eventually I do lol
When i played it i really didn't care ofc it would've been wayyyy smarter to go and sleep but i never did. The only i game i did that in was dying light when at night the volatiles who would make me shit myself came out
@Rashi you have no goddamn idea
@ORGO yeah this was scary but dying light is brutal lol

The critics are so out of touch. This game was excellent. The players loved it and the critics totally gave this game no love and screwed any chance at a sequel. I feel terrible for Bend Studios, they got a raw deal. But it just goes to show how completely worthless 90% of game critics are. When games are getting 8's and 9's from the users and high 5's low 6's from critics there is a serious disconnect there. IGN gives every garbage recycled Madden and CoD at least an 8 every single year without fail when those games are literally copied and pasted trash. Its disgusting.
It's not just game critics, it's critics. Look at the movie industry.

One thing that annoys the fuck out of me, is deacon’s ignorance, anytime O’Brian tries to be helpful deacons attacking him for this or that. Sad to see people only just realising how good this game is, it was a day one purchase for me and glad I had. Unforgettable game.
I loved the trailers but the reviews were so bad I skipped it.
It was free on PS+ so I said - huh, I kinda wanna see what its like
5 days later I beat the entire game, wiping our hordes and thinking......the critics ruined an amazing games future.
Having beat it I want a sequel but realize its not coming because the reviews tainted any hope of success.
Same. I've played it several times.
My only complaint is that they didn't integrate more horde removals into the story. Most of the horde quests come in after the main game is over. Its just erie having Deacon ride around the countryside in radio silence systematically and repetitively taking out hordes as an end quest line.
Much of the charm of this game is his constant interactions with the camps and juggling their demands. Then all of sudden.....crickets. its just Deek and the freaks.
Yaa man... 🙆🏽♂️
This ending really gave me goosebums, didn't see that coming. But suddenly a lot of puzzle pieces slipped in their places, even those I didn't realize were pieces till that point. The way they left in the helicopter and let Deacon alone in the dark woods, really gave me chills.
Wonder if using all those Nero injectors thoughout the game was a bad idea.

@@chaoticrager1722 glitches are annoying as fuck, died in-game because of them, gamebreaking glitches etc...
I played with v.1.55 and almost no bugs whatsoever.
I only experienced like 3 major bugs the whole game. Actually shocked how smooth the game was overall considering how much shiz is in the game. Im blown away by how great this game was
I think this storyline is way better and much more interesting than the “main” story. I can’t begin to tell you the chills, excitement, and confusion I got as soon as O’Brien took off the helmet. My jaw hit the floor and I was shook the rest of the cut scene. The voice acting and editing to O’Brien’s voice was great. The little hesitation, the twitch, awesome. Then him jumping onto the helicopter and rocking it and the music, and him just standing there watching Deacon as he flies away. Lol me and Deacon had the same reaction “what the fuck…” It was just a waaaaay better ending I thought than the main. Sure it left you with more questions than answers but just the feeling I got with this short cut scene is what I wanted from this game.
But I am glad deacon killed skizzo not using a gun. Hoping for more of a torture, but I took it.
LMFAO so true, I said the exact same thing before Deek even said it. "what the FUCK??"
It was one of the best endings of any story ever. Totally jaw-dropping twist! It’s so hard to believe we won’t get a DG2!
Nero injectors are probably a small amount of the virus. Think about this : the game tells you sometimes that "swarmers will pursue you relentlessly", that means they have infinite or a very high amount of stamina, they are also more strong than average humans and of course they take more shoots to die (humans sometimes takes more shoots but they are wearing protection). And well, deacon has more health, stamina and even focusing abilities when he injects himself with those things (I also would say that there is a secret "strength" stat in the lore because he can fight breakers and bears without problem). So maybe he is injecting himself with the virus but since it's a very small amount he doesn't turn on a zombie (at least not for now)
the way the tone of obriens voice changed freaked me out - and then when he lept into that helicopter??? DG2 can't come soon enough.

Fuck the critics. Amazing game. On my 3rd play through with the new difficulty update and still loving every single minute of it. Game of the year.
EXACTLY
They played demos that really weren't ready to be played, especially by critics. Sony Bend made an error with releasing unfinished demos. Everyone I know loves it. Fuck the critics.
That's the thing the reason I somewhat defend the critics is because i experienced that too. I got the game day one and experienced a lot of glitches and frame drops. It was enough to the point that it crash my ps4 twice and I have a couple friends that experienced the same thing. I know that this could be fixed with updates so I waited three weeks until I played again and it was mind blowing on how much the difference was. I platinum days gone and I love the game. Story was alright but the gameplay got me addicted. Anyways, the reason I defend the critics is because I'm tired of developers releasing unfinished products. I've been playing since the ps1 and n64 days so if a game with that many problems were to be released than it would be considered a shitty game because updates were not there to save the day. I know that games are way bigger and its unavoidable to not have issues at launch but there are plenty of other games that have released with less issues than days gone on day one. I guarentee that if days gone came out 2 months after it was originally released than it wouldnt have received the bad criticism it got. The only issue was that Sony probably wanted an exclusive to meet the 1st quarter release window.
Its coz it wasn't from a major developer who paid them to say it was great.. I mean it was flawed no doubt but still really good, and had what alot of games don't seem to understand is needed nowadays.. fun factor, red dead for example was a masterpiece in more ways then one and very enjoyable but it wasnt a fun game if that makes sence
This is not a game, but a life experience to be had. What BEND Studios managed to accomplish is a true masterpiece !
His tick and aggression only happens after he takes the helm off, makes me think the suit either has a calming gas in it or the mask tinting maybe makes him not see others as food(like his vision sees loving as red and tint makes everyone not red lol)
My wife makes me wear one of those helmets when I go to the beach.
Or he was knowingly playing a role until he knew he could reveal his true self.
Great video as always, when he took off that mask I was completely shocked and when Deacon said "What the fuck?" I did too almost exactly when he did. I know dlc stuff is supposedly coming in June but I cant wait for the sequel to this awesome game, one of the few original and well made ideas and games I've played in a long time
Yes it came out the blue. Really powerful.
Such a cool and unique twist on what seemed like a basic zombie apocalypse story. Don’t get me wrong, I love basic zombie stories, but they really stepped it up with this one.
Games that are under rated and made in small companies, are usually more heart felt and in depth. Just because the funding isnt there, the resources, the help, the people.... just overall it makes for a better product when you're coming up with games to "make it"
It’s now sept. Where is the dlc?

I've just finished it on ps5 and is one of the best games I've played. The start is a bit boring but when you get to iron Mike's the story and gameplay gets really good. Then when you get to the wizard island camp it feels like your playing the second game. You get new materials to make new weapons to kill new enemys. Defenetly worth playing. Also the hoards are like nothing I've ever experienced in a game before.
This is one of the best games I've ever played. Still playing actually. The story, the music, the dialogues, the action are second to none. Not doing the sequel after a game and an ending like this is the absolutely worst decision ever made in the gaming industry and an absolute kick in the balls or other gentle areas of the fans. NERO was working on a 'superhuman' serum, but had to tinker with viruses to be able to 'infect' and evolve a target human to do so... But it got stolen while it's being developed hence is in for the most part a virus, and viruses are known to mutate erratically.
Perhaps the sequel will involve mutations and mutants, where the players has a choice to 'evolve' their abilities slightly without their appearance changing.
Also another thing... When you were playing Days Gone, YOU WERE MINDLESSLY INJECTING YOURSELF TO INCREASE YOUR HP, STAMINA, OR FOCUS... Without questioning what these injections are made from, or what they are for.

so deacon is an intelligent but not infected...?
sorry I'm only 12
dra6o0n deacon question it
Just finished this last night, and avoided spoilers so I was shocked. That little jump he does into the helicopter at the end was the creepiest part.
it seems that we will never know, there is a little hope that this masterpiece has a second episode
Days Gone 2:
Deacon has superpowers from the Nero injectors
tbh i see this 100% something going happen you cant deine it after O'Brain ending
Like Prototype?

My game of the year right here. Loved the shock at the end. Soooo want a sequel. Great review man. Subbed.
Ramiro Salcido the game is finished you clown
Ramiro Salcido yes I do have it, and Completed it. It’s finished. The sequel should be a continuation, it’s too big a reveal to just have dlc. By your logic every game needs dlc or it’s not finished, and I’m sorry but that’s just flat out false
Ramiro Salcido the real ending is the credits. Everything after the ending credits is just cutscenes and shouldn’t count as endings, as everyone can get every single one of thos cutscenes no matter what: they’re just something to keep you around after the credits.
I was not going to get the game because it was 1 player but my buddy got it for me and damn it was was fuck awesome but that skizzo dude I wanted to kill him from the start lol
That ending surprised me. There were a number of other story elements that just seem standard or follow tropes, but the fact that they leave NERO out of the limelight was a good move. Now, we're left wondering what the motivations of NERO are, the true nature of the virus, and (to me) the decided reality that NERO has been the biggest threat all along.
Copeland may be paranoid but he was quite possibly correct about NERO this whole time.
I've just finished the story and now I'm doing a cleanup for the platinum. I genuinely don't understand why this game got so much hate. Sure, it can be a bit repetitive at times, and a little but glitchy, but it's so much fun to play. It'll be a shame if they don't make a number two.
Honestly the only glitch i ever had was when my bike went god mode and allowed me to splatter and entire horde
@@ClassyAssassin0 the only glitchy thing I regularly encountered was Deacon yelling at odd times. But that's a small gripe and easy to look past.
Just finished this on pc. This was a good game. Better than i thought it would be.
“Secret ending explained.” I’m left with more questions after watching this video...
6:20 I don't think he was trying to control an urge to attack deacon. To me it looked like he was trying to control his sadness and not cry. I do the same thing when I'm on the verge of tears. Then he walks towards his friend but then realizes deacon is scared of him
Totally agree, he can perfectly control himself and doesn't feel any urge to attack humans
Yes he might be controlling his emotions
His voice is super depressed as well, it sounds like he’s about to just break down, as if he was forced to become something everyone feared
Since he’s infected and says they are evolving its possible that they can change the way they sound also I do think he was gonna attack deacon and and he wasn’t the soldiers because they might be infected as well and also why you can’t kill them but you can kill a breaker that’s literally a tank
Agree bro
The fact that the security wasn't alarmed shows that this is not new and it's a norm for them to see o-brian that way. It could also mean that they're all infected the same way as o-brian as well. When it came to stealth attacking anyone with an armor in the game, it was possible. however, when it came to Nero soldiers, it was simply not possible. Maybe because you just can't kill them because of that increased strength.
I just finished this game 20 minutes ago and this just surprised me.
Just playing this on pc and its the best open world story I've played.
You tried horizon zero dawn yet? It's another ps exlusive ported to pc and I'm sure the story is better than days gone but in term of open world gameplay days gone for sure
i finished the pc version now and i got the wedding ring final only... how to get this one instead??
We’ll see Days Gone 2 on PS5
No on ps4 lol
Nah. DLC.
@@rumuelnathanael8043 no thanks downloading and wasting money for 2 campaigns yeah right I chose days gone 2
Probably. Like in 2021 or 2022
On ps4 and ps5
Deacon: Sarah, get on the helicopter. I'm going with boozer!
Deacon: Sarah, you're alive! I'm going to save boozer!
Deacon: (wizard island fight) Rescues Sarah. Boozer, you're alive!
Deacon should've married boozer.
@@astolfofansunny4047 Realistically though, when O'Brien said I can only take 2 of you, it should've been Sarah and Boozer that got on. Would've made travel much easier for Deacon, even though the chopper was diverted to another camp.
@@NickNieves112 then deacon would have to search for boozer aswell as Sarah.
_ Pokemonlink246 I feel like Boozer would have refused to go. He didn’t really like accepting help from anyone, plus he insisted that he would be fine.
Best comment here!!!
And there's me who's been wondering during the whole game if Boozer was his brother of a really close friend until Deacon finally said he wasn't his real brother to Lisa xD
You did an amazing job on the video! Helped recap the ending perfectly and give some understanding to what we saw there.. I truly hope for a days gone sequel
Awesome, thank you!
@@ThePatientWolf hey I didnt get this ending/scene. Do you know why? I completed the game but the nero stroryline stuck at 92%
But any notice we been inject Nero this whole time . I think Saint John may become just like Brian in a the next one
I think we will play as lisa in the next game

Very much so but I thought they came from the same studio. I’m too lazy to even check.
Zebulous naughty dog Made the last of us.
This game taught me not to trust IGN so much.
You trusted IGN before?
Even after the Alien Isolation review?
Maybe the " they are coming for you" line is aimed at Decon specifically due to the lack of any side effects shown after his multiple uses of the nero injectors. If they are what could have caused a strain of the virus and nero are observing what is going on then they would want to study him further to find out what's so special about him.
That theory makes the most sense to me.
it just occurred to me while watching this, the nero staff keep mentioning that they are hungry... hungry for what?
Brains
Huh, I never thought of that.
Huh? Where did they say that?

I'll never pay attention to reviews again, what did ign give this game, a 5 out of 10 I think and other ppl say it's to long. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in the game rating scene. This game is awesome, I personally give it a 9.5 and I could even go 10 really, nit picking on some minor glitches but they are to minor to care about. Excellent game and can't wait for more of days gone
I need big game because I give fucking money to play game long not like end in a 5 6 days
I think they gave it a 7...I figured it wasn't that great, then it came to PS now and I played it for free....I was blown away. Recently bought it and played it a second time
@@2010akkii tbf I marathoned it in 5 days because I loved it so much
I finished this game up in the span of two weeks the final days is where I was playing it all day and progressing fast through the story, I just got the platinum achievement for it today. Now my all time favorite game and I plan on replaying it.
I took a week to finish Days Gone and I got the platinum throphy, I don't regret anything.
it’s weird we were never allowed to engage in combat with any of the nero soldiers, possibly because they were also juiced up, however there were a bunch of dead nero soldiers in a cave that deek had to investigate who were all torn apart by a Reacher, so….
This is hands down one of the best videos on yt. Like the intro + music is so Captiva it's insane!!!
After I unlocked this ending, I threw a few pipe bombs at my feet and killed myself. Everything that I had done was for nothing.
What do you mean by that
I bought the game 2 weeks ago and been playing on it everyday. I got really into it and so hooked when I got to this part and O’Brien took the helmet off, it shocked me and I was just sitting there for a while wondering wtf
So u basically got hooked right at the end of the game? Tf were u doing beforehand
I think "they're coming for you" is for Deacon specifically because they found out he was working with O'Brian and now knows too much (although law and order is basically gone so who could actually hold NERO accountable). Also they probably noticed Deacon can take on hordes by himself, and they thought sheesh we can't even do that.
From The second time you meet O’Brien till he meets you for the secret ending he is always very jittery and scared of you as if you could hurt him, When he can jump in to the helicopter you know that Deacon can’t hurt him. I think that the mutation of O’Brien took place over the game because at the very end he still acts frantically but out of desperation not worry if you.
Yes and no.
Mutations would constantly be going on anyway, so yes.
But I would say no to the idea that he went from scrawny nerdy O'Brian in the beginning to controlled freak by the end. Plus, he was very guarded early on about his suit not being touched when Deacon attempted to put his hands on him.
While one could read that as simply preseving his own safety in the suit, its also more likely that he had already become the thing he was trying to conceal from Deacon.
Maybe his jitters were him trying stop himself from ripping your head off.
Whar if the nero injectors are more refined versions of the virus ?
Deacon injected himself with them though and well he’s injected himself with loads of it maybe that was what the Nero camps had so that doctors or troops or infected people didn’t turn or something like that and they were trying to use the stuff inside the injectors to make more before the camps were overrun?
@@scousegam3r565 I'm thinkimg they were trying to weaponize the virus to boast their soilders efficiency or whatever I'm thinking that what O'Brien was using to keep his sanity
It is just ketamin but maybe the jused nedle is a problem
I’ve been seeing NERO helicopters around the state after speaking with O’Brein
You just earned yourself another subscriber my friend thx for showing such interest in Days Gone I missed a few things you spoke about 10/10 with the vid & music I’m just praying they make a sequel I really wanna find out what happens
Finished the game few days ago. A totally underrated hidden gem!!
Awesome storyline and characters...you totally get involved. This game is a mix of Sons of Anarchy/Walking Dead/TLOU and even some RDR 2 :) . That ending caught me a bit of surprise...didn't expect that. Waiting patiently for the sequel.
One of the best things about this game was the first overpass ride. I was convinced the game was about to end. Then the second half started.
Are you talking about the deacon and iron Mike journey over the thielson pass
@@tsgrapiidz6970 After that when Deacon rides over into the snow by himself and the music starts playing

Your voice is audible chocolate. Earned yourself a subscriber! Thanks for all the hard work you do. It shows in your content and I'm so proud
I really hope they change their mind and decide to create a days gone 2. It was a great game I enjoyed every moment.
I love your thinking on what may be coming for a Days Gone 2! Here's a little forward thinking of my own. What about those shots we've all been giving Deacon from Nero checkpoints? The ones to give Deacon more health, stamina and focus? What if that's the same stuff the NERO workers were giving themselves, and in DG2 we could get to play as a Deacon St. John with enhanced physical abilities?
Wow.... If they don't use this I'll be upset honestly. It would've been really cool for deacon to transform just tiny tiny bits after every injection.
Didn't even think of the injectors. Yes that would be a good slant.
Omg he we be super man now first he was the only one able to kill a horde but now he is the only one that has a chance against the warlord O brain
Fr tho i love this game and yeah i pray your right hell the guy can survive motorcycle crashes like nonething
like red dead 2, but opposite, instead of devolving into disease he would evolve into it
my face went from smirking to straight terror and horror when O’Brien took off his helmet.
Yeah that terrified me
Just completed this again, this time on my PS5, had forgotten how good of a game it was. Great characters, thrilling storyline, beautiful graphics (attention to detail is astounding!) and gripping gameplay, an absolute cracker of a game. Criminal that we wont see a second despite everyones best attempts to convince Sony. A sequel would have so much potential with O'Brian's suprise story ending... such a shame.
It's better than the last of us. It really is. I love TLOU, buts it's linear. It's a movie that I play. In days gone the open world is done so well. The scenery, woods, weather the towns you come across. Being able to go in all buildings. This game is a masterpiece
Just found you, the quality is honestly really good.
Hopefully it don’t take them another 4 years to make part 2 lol

It will lol on the ps5 days gone 2
They have lots of money now

This game genuinely gave me the immersion and emotions as The last of us idc what anyone says this game is absolutely worth it let alone to go and finish off everything 100%
Got to that ending 2 days ago (it was a ps plus game in april) - bodes well for days gone 2. Good video mate :)
Honestly an amazing game! All the story beats hit just right, all the dialogue felt real and truly impactful and every death or hint at death felt like my heart was ripped from my chest. I want it to continue but even if it does not I will be happy to replay this game whenever I feel the call of the wild.
The Boozer fake out death was cheap. They missed the mark on that one. Boozer was kind of a tool in the early stages of the game. Then they transitioned him to comic relief, which was also a mistake.
If they wanted to crystalize him as a core and impactful character, they really needed him to die for the cause. But they took the low road instead.
But yes to your point regarding other characters.
Wonderful vid. It's a shame no one has discussed this, only given us reactions. Thank you for this. I needed closure after the shock.
"And o'brian reveals the most particular strean he is most worried about..."

i really enjoyed your DG videos, it helped to make DG a really enjoyable experience - i still have a few (6) hordes to get through!
This ending threw me for a loop! Had to watch this video to figure it out. Wow!! Can't wait for the DLC or next game. I've been loving this game - Deacon, Boozer, Rikki, Iron Mike, etc. are great characters. Voice acting is superb! At first, it was slow but it got better and better. Love taking out the hordes now!!
I think it’s safe to say this game takes a lot of inspiration from I am Legend both movie and book and this ending is a representation of the twist ending from the book. Where the monsters are considered the new dominators of the planet.
IGN didn’t even play this game, they just gave it a bad rating just to give it a bad rating. For the people who actually played this game knows that this game deserves a 10/10.
💯 this game is genius
I never understood why IGN favored The Last of Us over this. This has a way better story to me and is far more engaging. To be honest, I'm not even done with my forst playthrough uet because it happens to be free for ps+ this month. I love this game and honestly hope it gets a much deserved sequal.
First reaction: wtf... is that Voldemort?
😂😂😂😂😂
I want Days Gone 2.
The Ending was shocking for me .
So O brain was already like this when we tracked him down. Damn.
I just can't puzzle it up... Like how the virus effect , I bet it is not communicable cause Decan didn't get infected while going around for Nero and Infistasion area.
This game is underrated. Yes the side missions are underrated and yes there is not much the customize.....BUT, HOT DAAAAAAMN. After finishing this game, it left a void in me. Usually I don't like a love story in game, too cheesy. This one is really well written. The story is so good and really let you feel what he is going through. The acting of characters and the music, everything. What a masterpiece!!!!! I really wish the would make a Days Gone 2
I just finished days gone for the first time and it was awesome. I can’t believe IGN and other critics gave them a low score, I couldn’t stop playing the game. I hope they make a second game

What's interesting is how segmented NERO created their field research teams with little to no information. They're more than just an exposition dump for us to overhear from the bushes and it really helps create more questions than answers which only further creates a mystery in regards to their social structures and overall existence. In this case, less is more because it invests you in the story.
They're there doing research for a specific purpose which reflects O'Brien saying the higher ups always knew and the way he's able to just casually fly away after exposing himself definitely opens up a can of worms in regards to what NERO actually is and are capable of. While I can't say for certain if they're all infected and that's why we're told not to engage them it does seem like it's just another Tuesday when Hunk over there doesn't give a damn about the O'Brien reveal. It is interesting that they all have hermetic seals though even with duct tape on their boots so maybe as the virus itself mutates its hosts it's also mutating its form of delivery from bites to airborn. O'Brien mentioned this when you first meet him when he can't have his gear taken off.
The "coming for you" threat could be interpreted towards Deacon and the gang too. If it is airborn and if they survived this long then clearly they have some kind of resistance that's often the cliche for these types of stories in order to avoid having to answer the question of "how are they alive?" which could be seen as either an existential issue for NERO or perhaps something they wish to further study after gaining first-hand knowledge courtesy of O'Brien.
Shame we'll never know though unless Sony gives the team another chance thanks to the superb reception it's received with the PC release which removed the technical constraints which really torpedoed the console release.
Maybe, the “new sub-species” (O’Brien) will be able to control the lesser freakers; it could be due to their pheromones that gives the others a sense of hierarchy.
