Raw carrots are great. Especially dipped in peanut butter. Pickled or fermented carrots are also very good snacks. But my favorite is roasted or boiled carrots. When I make soups and stews, I always put in extra carrots for myself.
As a Greek that eats anchovies regularly, I can tell you that they are A LOT better over here! Freshness and the saltiness of the Mediterranean sea does make a difference.

I personally will take bread dough and dig holes all over it. I will then fill the holes with garlic, parmesan, and anchovies; and fry it in the oven in olive oil. Think of it like a saltier/slightly fishy garlic bread

Whenever you go to a restaurant, order pasta or pizza, and think, "Why can't my tomato sauce taste this good?" It's because they added a minced anchovy to the sauce. That umami flavor really makes the sauce pop.
Anchovies are like a spice. Eating anchovies by themselves, and even whole on pizza, is like munching on a raw garlic clove and deciding you don’t like garlic based on that experience.

Guys, guys, what you're having are salt cured anchovies though. Fresh anchovies are indeed creamy and delicious - and you can have them deep fried, sautéed with tomatoes or even raw (marinated in lemon juice and olive oil). They're so good... But then again, as an Italian I love the salt cured version too 😄

My friend was with and we don't speak tons of French, but recognized the words for "fish" and "pizza" so we ordered it as we both like anchovies. When the food arrived we were surprised to see a full, big ass carp slapped directly on the pizza, head, tail, and all. Those crazy Frenchmen...
