NEW Hennessey Venom F5 In Depth FIRST LOOK! 1817bhp 311mph+

- Опубликовано: 22 сен 2024
- This is the new Hennesey Venom F5! A 1817hp 300mph+ hypercar designed and built entirely by Hennesey Performance from the ground up. Built around a carbon fibre monocoque and priced at $2.1 million dollars, just 24 ultra-exclusive versions of the Venom F5 will be produced with each example unique to its owner. The heart of the car is the Hennessey-built 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine named ‘Fury’, which delivers 1,817HP at 8,000rpm and packs 1,617Nm (1,193lb-ft) of torque.
The F5 aims to exceed 500kph (311mph) on a two-way validated speed run using a production specification car. The record attempt will be independently verified by the world-renowned experts from Racelogic using VBOX GPS data acquisition systems. Racelogic / VBOX engineers will be on site to install, test and calibrate the speed testing equipment in the F5 to ensure absolute accuracy and transparency. In addition, VBOX engineers will verify all test data and final speed numbers. The speed test will be attended by independent witnesses, media guests and F5 customers. GPS data and uninterrupted video footage will also be made publicly available following the speed test.
With the engine delivering such immense power, one of the challenges for the Hennessey engineers is how best to transfer the car’s colossal forces through its rear wheels to the ground. This is handled with precision by the car’s Motec controller, which will be calibrated for optimum power and traction control. In addition, five different drive modes (Sport, Track, Drag, Wet, F5) can be selected that alter the power delivery, traction and braking performance of the car. Only the top ‘F5’ mode will unlock the maximum available power.
The car’s huge 345 / 30 section 20-inch rear tyres provide a substantial contact patch to boost traction under acceleration and cornering. At the front, the 265 / 35 section front tyres are mounted on 19-inch wheels. Michelin will test its Cup Sport 2 tyres to ensure they can withstand the speeds and loads that the car will generate.

Insane car. Impressive review. Quality of your videos are over the top👏.
The startup reminds me of 60’s era cars for how choppy the exhaust is. Either way an amazing car and definitely one of my favorites!
It sound like a drag car! When you're pushing 1500+ on a turbo v8 the idle gets a bit rough as it's not so comfy living at such low revs, It's to do with having to have such large injectors to fuel that high of a HP demand.
@@DaftFader uh. No. It's got agressive cams. Has nothing to do with the horsepower, the turbo, or the fact that it's a v8. Cam chop can occur in any engine with a large profile camshaft
@@THESLlCK We talking about too different understandings of the meaning choppy. I took it to mean idling slightly rough, which is a problem that can be caused by having really large amounts of fuel from big injectors being sprayed into a cold engine and struggling to fully combust. Even when warm, an engine like that is real fiddly to get a smooth idle on for similar reasons, and is much happier when revved up a bit and can breath.
However you are right in saying It has nothing to specifically do with turbo's, or being a V8, although V8's are used very commonly in American drag racing, so as a percentage of cars that sound like this, the majority are V8's and by default are known for this kinda sound as a result, which is why I mentioned that. If you read my comment properly I wasn't saying the fact it was a turbo V8 was causing it to sound like that (I said it was the big injectors and large amounts of fuel), I was saying it's common for turbo V8's TO sound like that inc. the car in the vid. However I'll get into the V8 aspect in a bit as it still can have a big effect on the sound..
You're talking about the overall growliness of the sound as opposed to it idling rough or anything like that right? Which ye has a lot to do with the shaft set up, not just the size either, but the degrees between the planes the lobes are on etc. It's also heavily dependant on the cylinder angles in the block and what that does to the firing order/angle of rotation between ignition events. A lot of V8's just happen by design to require a angle between the ignition events that when set up for high horse power (louder) will really lend it's self to this growly sound.
@@DaftFader what you're referring to then, is blower surge, which is impossible on a turbo car
@@THESLlCK No I'm not.

I hope this is a successful entry into the hypercar world. Mind you, I suspect that upcoming Corvette C8 options will also be there.

I remember when the Bugatti n koenigsegg fan boys when the venom gt1 came out they said Hennessy will never make a car to their level. 1817 to be exact.
John Hennesey has been working on that for more than 5 years, since he stopped making the Lotus based Venom GT, it looks like he has done an incredible job, the horsepower figures might be a little misleading, I think that you would need E85 or E90 to get 1,800hp out of it, on petrol it will more like 1,300hp. Most street driven drag cars have a flex fuel sensor so it can run on gas or E90 or any combination.
