  • In this video, David brought his 370Z back over for a quick vehicle walk around and to install some Z1 Motorsports hood struts. The install was very easy and only required some minor trimming to fit properly!!

Im removing my battery and my Z came with the z1 hood strut. On the battery side lower ball joint do i just pop it out of place or do I need to loosen the bottom bolt under the wheel well?

No that shouldn’t be necessary. Take the clip out and remove the strut from the upper ball joint first then just grab the lower part of the strut and lift up and it should just pull right off the lower ball mounted to the wheel well.

@@Foxcraze ahh gotcha thanks! didnt know i had to remove the top one first before being able to pop out the bottom one.

You might not have to remove the top connection first, however the downward pressure on the bottom ball joint with it installed might make removal harder than it needs to be.

I skinned those myself. There is a Video of the process in my previous videos.

Well that’s good to know, my buddy hasn’t had any other issues with them so it was still a good mod none the less.

@@Foxcraze All 5 are made by a different company and all 5 cars are different and all have the same issue.
Something about those hood struts not made by the factory have an issue.
