The game actually ended with 70. Qxh6 c2! (not 72. Qc6 Ne2) - The PGN I used from Chess24 was not correct as it also registered analysis moves they did after the game. SO No weird stuff in the end.
    Sorry about that.

Agad, what's your opinion of FIDE's use of the terms 'slow rapid' & 'fast rapid' please in WFRCC?
It's a conspiracy against Wesley So.
    Afaik:
    (0,10) is blitz.
    [10,60) is rapid.
    [60,120) is unrated classical.
    [120,infinity) is rated classical.
    So what's 'slow rapid'?
Try to check out the maths here - they said both 32.5min & 60min are 'slow rapid'. Does this strike you as odd?
I see only 2 possible definitions for slow & fast rapid.
Def 1 - slow rapid means unrated classical [60,120) and fast rapid is rapid [10,60).
--> this means Wesley So is not classical WFRCC but slow rapid WFRCC while Hikaru is fast rapid WFRCC.
Def 2 - slow rapid & fast rapid cut up rapid [10,60) into resp [35,60) and [10,35).
--> 2 issues here. 60min is not in either of these. Also, 32.5 is in [10,35). So neither 60 nor 32.5 are slow rapid. Lol. Wesley So is again classical WFRCC while Hikaru is (fast) rapid WFRCC.
Def3 --> Since 15+2=17 is fast rapid, [10,X) is fast rapid & [X,120) is slow rapid for some 17 < X < 32.5. like say X is some arbitrary number like X=20 or X=30. Lol yeah right!!

Why doesn't a drawn match go to the player w/ more black wins (if any) s.t. Sergey Karjakin not Magnus Carlsen is 2016 WCC & Ian Nepomniachtchi not Liren Ding is 2023 WCC?
    This has happened BEFORE!
    1
    2022 Accentus Chess960
Vincent Keymer and Nodirbek Abdusattorov both finished with 5.0/7 and tied first. However, as Keymer won more games with Black, he won the tournament on tiebreak.

About Final Fantasy XVI...I'm 47 years old, been playing since the mighty NES era... Being a huge fan of FFVII (favorite all time game) I can honestly say it's very good in terms of :
    - Graphics wise, the game struggles with frame rate issues... Playing on an LGOLED 55 BX... VRR on, noticeable issues and some hiccups. If you can get past that, the game is visually rich and gorgeous!!! Great detail on castles and overall structures. Some dungeons look visually stunning. Use performance mode.
    - Not an open world game (like Horizon Forbidden West or Ghost of Tsushima) but it's OK to wander around.
    - Side quests feel bland and underdeveloped.
    - Music is great. Amazing soundtrack specially using a Home Theater.... 😅
    - You'll instantly recognize/feel identified with Summons from FFVII (called Eikons in the game).... Beautifully recreated. The ability of fighting like them is cool, give you a sense of greatness.....
    - Lore is vast and rich, could be improved.
    - Not a classic JRPG.... More of an Action RPG, battle system is cool have to timely dodge (a lot).
    - So far a solid 9/10. M rated, more dark/grim game than previous entries.
    Hope this works for you!!!
    Cheers from México!!

Ooo! I didn't realise that your little hint at the start of the game was in any way spoiling - until you stopped doing it here. I feel I enjoyed that game MUCH more without the usual hint at the beginning. Thank you, sir! It's a great improvement that I didn't even know I wanted.

I played a little bit of FF16. It is decent. But I still prefer Wrath of the Righteous PC RPG. Only out a few years but recently released enhanced edition. It is based on Pathfinder version of D&D. Which I'm not much a fan of. But has improvements for PC. The reason this is great is because of a story, strategy, and how each level is meaningful.

I don't think it would apply here but when one player just loses on time, the victor should be allowed the option of offering terms such as: I'm willing to reset the clocks to 60 seconds with a three second increment (for example then if the time loser goes on to win he claws a couple of points back, it he loses for a second time the winner gets 4 or, this example 5 points for the win and rather than than zero for the single loss he'd get -2 for losing twice...

I love FF games as well as action games like Bayonetta & Devil May Cry. So FF16 is a match made in heaven for me. The battle set pieces are incredible. Almost as good as this endgame!!
I'm a little sad the developers sacrificed the deeper RPG/Party systems to realise this particular vision. Side quests, items & gear all feel a little wanting at times. However the world & characters still feel true to the epic spirit of the series - and the grimdark influence of The Witcher and Game of Thrones works surprisingly well.
FF7 Remake does a decent job of incorporating classic FF strategy elements into an action RPG setting. So hopefully we'll see this stuff better realised in the future.

Magnus as usual thinking like an engine, exploiting weaknesses that are imperceptible to mere humans. This game looked like a draw from early on, but Magnus kept grinding ever slowly, tightening the noose. No blame to Anand here, only awe of Magnus's unparalleled precision.

@@WarriorJRD97 I'm not a Magnus fan at all, I hate his game. Anand, Gukesh, Dubov and many others play more creative and daring games. He rarely makes a move that I would call brilliant. But I give the Devil his due as the saying goes. He rarely misses the optimal move, his precision is unprecedented. And if there's a tiny tiny weakness to exploit, he finds it and slowly but surely uses it to win. Can't you admit that much?

Unable to really travel and busy with life, I played some postal chess but not many games. They were sanctioned through the FIDE in the 90s...almost before computers...I didn't have one at least. How do I find my ranking? I seem to remember hitting Expert almost Master...is there a way to find this historical info?
