- Abandoned Eat N Park - Swissvale, PA. Enjoy a short look around this belated location which was part of a famous Pittsburgh chain of restaurants. Slowly over the last few years, Eat N Park has been closing locations little by little. However new life will be filling this restaurant soon!

That's a really nice mid-to-late '90s location. I still think it should be Park 'n Eat since you park before you eat.
But they couldn't trademark that, so they flipped it around.
The restaurant closed at 5 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2020 after 29 years. The company was outbid on the building’s lease. Employees were offered jobs at one of the other restaurants. I remember the one in Jeannette, we would eat in the car and take a strawberry pie home for later. The old days when there were car hops....
I knew this location was there for quite a while, I just couldn't remember for how long. 29 years is a great run for any restaurant location, but that's the problem with these strip plazas. Most businesses don't own the land their building is sitting on. I used to go to this location back in the late 2010s when my partner worked over that way. Glad to see its being brought back to life.

"Edgewood Towne Centre" is actually in BOTH Edgewood and Swissvale. Funny Part is the OFFICE building is in Swissvale, So when it was a manufacturing site (Union Switch & Signal division of Westinghouse Air-Brake Company) Edgewood took a nice chunk of taxes but were "fine" with the whole thing being known as the "Swissvale plant", But when the shopping center came along "Edgewood" it is! (Even the parts LIKE the Eat 'N Park) are physically IN Swissvale. Then too, the "Fox Chapel" (Waterworks) Eat 'N Park is NOT in Fox Chapel... It's in Pittsburgh (City proper).
Knowing how much Wallie likes his Steelers probably had matching underwear and socks on!😄

Eat-n-Puke. Eat-n-Park used to be the apex of Pittsburgh cuisine. Even this Eat-n-Park started after their prime. Everytime we would go in there, they would rush us out for their next party. Edgewood Town Center was built on the old Union Switch & Signal sight. Giant Eagles replaced a Shop-n-Save store in Swissvale. My sister used to work in the Dollar Tree. There used to be a Phar More that was replaced by a Busy Beaver. Last time I visited home, I saw the entire Pittsburgh area is going to pot.
You're lucky the Edgewood police weren't around. They are fanatics there!

I love Eat n park we go there every Friday to see all of our friends that work there and I love love there crusted chicken it's the bomb and there pancakes are good..and other stuff I like the pretzel sticks..
Grew up going to this Eat n Park, I only lived 5 minutes down the way. The windows all had these "greenhouse" things in them back in the 90s/2000s. I always thought they were ugly but I was sad when they pulled them out haha
Oh right! Those goofy half rounded arched windows. I always wanted to sit there as a kid and my parents never would let us. They always said it was too cold or too hot.

I loved eating at the one that was in Clarksburg WV, last time we went there, it was closed too, they had the best pies, I don’t know why they’re closing down, when we tried to eat there and they were closed, we went to Dennys, it’s awesome too!
I like to eat at Eat N Park. It's sad to see Eat N Park restaurant close. We have an Eat N Park here in Weirton,WV on Three Springs Drive. They're usually pretty busy. I can't eat any seafood, for I'm severely allergic to any and all seafood. Have an Eat N Parklicious Day!

Looks like typical sit down restaurant
About 10 years or so ago eat and park use to have a location in Lancaster pa and in Harrisburg pa but both of them shut down the one in Lancaster became a bank
They are great
Eat N Park restaurants were really cool back in the day. But they have not kept up with the competition. Last few years a lot of good restaurants have come into western Pennsylvania. Sort of how Giant Eagle is facing fierce competition now that they never had to worry about before. I still miss their Smiley Cookies though. :)
The next closest Eat N Park would have been right over in Squirrel Hill, Sadly IT closed forever on Jan 24,2021 after nearly 44 years.

I watched that whole center being built, (It was opened in the early 90s) The Eat N Park building is better constructed then the other buildings there (Except for the office building from the 1920s).
If u filmed today damn I missed it but that Eat n Park has been closed for at least 1 1/2 almost 2 I think I know it's been a good while.

Well during the week it's not easy. I rarely film during the weekdays unless it's nearby. I work Monday through Friday so my weekends are what I'm limited to to film. And that's when I try to do a few.

Yes they still exist. There are still plenty around western PA and some in Ohio and West Virginia.

The one in Edgewood/Swissvale closed in October 2020, The one in Squirrel Hill in January 2022
