Feel better my friend, I can hear the sadness in your voice 😢 You know, I used to think my life was over after break ups, I then realized I couldn’t love someone else if I didn’t love myself first. I worked hard and raised my self esteem and after that everything else fell into place!….it will for you too honey…you are an amazing person. Remember that!!😉Xoxo
I worked at this Mc Donalds and it was always nasty and filled with mice and rats. They were fined many times because of health violations. Yes, where the gate is , is where you would be able to enter the gas station. The mcDonalds would close before hand and the gas station if I remember correctly would be open all night. I do believe they were forced to close because of health violations.
Can you tell me where this place is? I think I remember coming here when I was 4 years old, and I want to know where it is so I could look into it more
That Goodwill in the background used to be a Hills Department store & there was an old Arby's in the area of those gas pumps. There was a few other things that are gone too like a KFC & the old Drive-in across the street. Sad what's happened to that area. Used to be nice. I enjoy your videos since. Thanks!
13:35 Those are volume controls for the speakers in those sections. They are using zoning in order control the volumes for the speakers in those areas.
Those knobs at 13:33 look to be volume controls for the built in speaker system. Perhaps they may have been for announcing orders that are ready. or for playing overhead music? I noticed a few speakers in the ceilings
We had a McDonald's/gas station combo in my area, too. It failed because it attracted a derelict crowd that made regular customers and employees uncomfortable.
There's 3 McDonalds combo gas stations exactly like this in the Oklahoma City area except the gas station portion is closed but the McDonalds remained opened.
I knew this looked familiar- North Versailles. No way this closure had anything to do with Canes. Even Canes is not as busy since opening with their flavorless tenders. With Walmart right up the hill I am sure higher prices had a lot to do with the closure of McDonalds and the gas station.
The Raising Canes had nothing to do with that McDonald's closing. It was very disgusting and dirty. Also, the employees were rude and didn't care. They would show up to work in street clothes and not uniforms and consistently got orders wrong. The Wendy's and BK across the street are still going full force, so that shows you it was not the impact of Cane's being built.
AWESOME VIDEO!!!! Only thing Raising Canes sell is chicken, that was the only thing McDonalds was competing with them, so it would only hurt those sales.
I have never seen a McDonald's with a gas station inside. We do have one connected to a truck stop just outside of new castle . Awesome video thank you
Have you visited the phillipsburg mall in phillipsburg new jersey. They just recently tore it down in July at some point except for the Kohls which was left standing and in business. Just shopped there last week and it was still in very good shape albeit the piles and piles of rubble right next door. This mall was definitely a huge staple of my childhood especially in the early 90's when malls were still popular.
I've been meaning to go up to that Wal-mart and flea market all summer. I would have been shocked to see that gas station /mcd's closed. Last time I was in there was probably 2-5 years ago. Now I am saved the shock of seeing it all abandoned in person.
I'm surprised McDonald's would risk a joint venture with another company considering how protective McDonald's is of its brand. My guess is this was a franchised McDonald's and corporate invited them to close.
The thing I don’t understand is most of these places are rented- when we leave a house rental, or sale for that matter, we are expected to leave the place in immaculate condition. What happens that is so bad that the owners cannot clear out the place and get cleaners in?
The original McDonald's that was there was to the left of that building if you are facing from RT 30,they built this one around 10-15 years ago and demolished the original.
Built just like the circle k in jacksonville nc. But we call it gasdonalds lol. But the lighter white wall used to be the entrance from the gas station into McDonald's. Hope this info helped buddy.
Jackson Tennessee Chillis closed February of this year would love to see a video on this I used to work there before my accident in November 2023 I would love to share my experience with Chillis I loved every minute of working there
We had one like that in my hometown. The McD's closed years ago, but the gas station is still there. The mini Mart even has the same layout as this one.
4:04 the entrance was where that earth globe map is on the wall ... that white zigzag (behind the lottery machine ) wall wasnt always there and was added up in the past year i worked at this mcdonalds for two days in 2011 the amaco than bp than exxon than shell was in okay condition until the owners were changed in 2015 than the building and employees turned ghetto ... it was poorly managed after 2017 they also always would deliberately down their systems and shut off the mobile apps and of course the shake machine norfer sales mcdonalds was iconic for being a two in one and the canes coulda just waited two more months and put it here instead of replacing the 5/3rd bank
I wonder how places get left like this? So much equipment remains, oil still in the fryers, store only half cleaned. Seems like the franchisee/tenant/employees only gets paid for a week of cleanup then just lock up and leave it wherever they got up to?? Either way I'm sure that place will soon be trashed with doors open and lights left on Thanks Wallie and take care
My luck there would have been an unlocked door somewhere and the alarm would be set and go off on me weather a silent alarm or not that would have been my luck

The mansard roof. Childhood memories 🥹
Thanks for the video. I hope you feel better.
A really cool video, Wallie! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
A legitimate non working ice cream machine

I bet it actually still works! 😂🤣
Stumbled upon your videos and are enjoying them. I just had to subscribe and hit the notification bell....lol.
Thank you so much!
I like how you started saying, “Get out, get out” as you were walking in. 😝😝😝
13:38 those are volume knobs for speaker zones. Likely for music
Ahh thank you!
Great video Wallie! are you ok?
Very nicely done video, wallie.

Butterflies in my stomach when that door opens!!! Cool!!
Wow awesome video Mcdonald
Awesome video!!!

That's right! I believe McDonald's uses either Sirius XM or Mood Media as their music provider in the restaurants.
@@justinlab4144 Yeah the one i worked at years ago used Sirius xm.

Great video, you're doing a good job solo. Those ones connected to gas stations are cool
Woah it's nice to see a Hut stlye roof. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a lifesize Ronald McDonald statue inside.

Cane's used to be the best! Now they charge more due to inflation for tenders that have shrunk into nothing!
@@christiangonzales7429I wasn’t impressed with canes, I didn’t get the hype.

We had a McDonald’s/gas station near midway mall in Elyria, OH. Years ago the gas station closed and it was rebuilt as a stand alone McDonald’s.
I can't believe they left that unlocked
I’ve been to this McDonald’s numerous times. One of the worst ones I’ve been too, service wise
Are you ok? You don't seen your normal, cheerful self. We all care about here. Great videeo as always.
Interesting story about what they used in frying their French fries. Enjoyed, thanks Wallie 👍
I used to go to the North Versailles location. Hell, even at times to get gas.
We used to stop there when we went to the bins for the convenience store. It was always kinda dirty.
If your ever passing thru Oklahoma you should stop by the abandoned veterans center in Talitha
If i had to guess, someones probably been in there before you. That office looked ransacked
