I just made it yesterday! I loved it so much and reminded me my time in Japan :) There was a Ramen shop in Shibuya (forgot the name or the restaurant :( ) they made amazing ramen and gyoza! I went there twice and I ate gyoza in many places around Japan and just fell in love with the Japanese cuisine! So thank you so much for this great explanation, I had great time yesterday making and eating those gyoza!

@@chen-fs9kr it is believed that dumplings originated in china, and if we specifically talk about gyoza then so is gyoza. Though the Japanese gyoza originated from china, still the Japanese gyoza is very different from the Chinese gyoza and is considered a Japanese food.

So love the sophistication of Japanese food. Worked for Nomura Investment Bank in London and got to know these people and love them. So many ill informed views of Japanese culture. Incredible people. Once you are a friend they are so loyal and very special friends. Their food culture is amazing. I had access to ultra fresh wild caught fish. I happily gifted this sea treasure to my Japanese friends.
    Many happy memories.

She makes it more like how I've had it at an Okinawan Restaurant. Heavier on the fresh vegetables. Not just a lump of pork. But I would never freeze gyoza, make and eat it fresh!

I strongly dislike mushrooms, what can I use instead? Some bread maybe ? Or leave it completely out?

+Mistirina You can leave it out. I wrote in my blog post about typical Gyoza ingredients and I mentioned that addition of shiitake is my version.

I love how you just use the pre-made wraps, i'm not joking by the way, the whole "do everything by hand" culture on RUclips is kind of annoying and who the hell has time for that? You can buy perfectly fine wrappers in the shop, i understand tradition and stuff is important, but practicality is also just as important imo.

It is not just a matter of tradition, didn't came to your mind that lot of people don't have access to this kind of pre made products??? If you don't like to do somethint from scratch it is ok, just skip and use the pre made stuff, but when pre made is not available, for many people to learn step by step is essential to get something done.

Ana Paula I love how people complain about everything when a simple tap can skip unwanted parts.

Fronze ones are not very healthy and there's a slightly difference in taste too. Also the wrappers are not available everywhere in the world
