Honestly, I'm not sure what you expected, every single dog I've ever had takes you being on the floor as cuddle/play time. They're both adorable, and good commitment to the bit despite that big old thunk I heard which I assume was your hip XP
I love that cribbage is the number one because of all your wonderful core memories growing up. Playing games with your kids does matter. I'd love to see a casual list of games. You can be social with games that are easy to play while having chatting ,eating, and snacking time with friends.
I love that (almost?) every time you show a cribbage board it's the one I grew up with. When I was working for Electronic Arts way back in the day, I was testing an online version of Cribbage with my mom (3,000 miles away) and I got the only 29 I've ever gotten in my life!
Cribbage!!! So good! I learned to play this with my dad when I was pretty young ... he used to always say to me, when he was going to win, "sadly now, there can be but one outcome." Lol. My husband and I taught our now 9 year old when she was around 6... her 3rd grade class is learning/playing every other Wednesday now too. It's been fun to share with her and make new memories. Nice to hear your stories surrounding cribbage. 🥰
Thanks for the video! My husband and I have been playing cribbage a lot lately and I was trying to figure out why we have been playing it and not some of the more modern board games. I think you are right. It is something we can do while chatting and it’s not too taxing on the brain after a long day. Great casual game.
1 vote for top 10 trick taking games! your cribbage growing up is my Hearts and Zot (though we played cribbage too), and im having alot of fun hunting down modern trick taking games right now!
Love Scout. They also came out with a card only version still with scout and show etc but in card form instead of tokens. I have the original, but also just bought the other version at Target for $10! What a deal!!! Even for older people who have difficulty with board games, they can play this. We play this and cribbage with my parents who are in their 80s. I was lucky to find a 4 player cribbage board. Awesome list guys!!!❤
Play Nine is a fun 2-6 player card game with a golf theme. Love Scout and I get the Cribbage nostalgia. I learned the game from my grandpa and before he passed I would meet up with him weekly to get a game in over my lunch hour.
Big fan of many of the games on your list. And I always end up wishlisting stuff as you're talking about it. Really gotta check out It's a Wonderful World... Some additional picks: Point Salad is a good, quick game that's accessible and family-friendly. Oh My Goods! is excellent but a bit heavier. Bohnanza is great for higher player counts (plays great with 5-6).
Love so many of these! Nick taught me IaWW at DTW 2023 and I’m in a Res Arcana with Mike now lol. Photograph is on my shelf of shame too. P.S. Big yes to Trick Taking video, been really trying to get into the genre.
My list would include: Saint Petersburg, Space Base, San Juan, Medici, Wingspan, Earth, Starship Catan, Star Realms, Cribbage, Mu and More, Legend of the Five Rings, Seventh Sea, and possibly Pinochle (double deck). I don't require that Top 10 be a base-10 thing. 8-) In no particular order and with the understanding that that list was off the top of my head.
My favourite card game are: -Dale of merchants -res arcana -race for the galaxy -scout -seasons -earth -arboretum -the crew -regicide -shards of infinity
OMG LETS GOOOOOOOOOO!!!🎉 You guys actually saw my comment and made the video?!?! Thank you sooooo much! Can’t wait to watch this! Also THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING SHOUT OUT🎉 I actually screamed with joy when my comment was on the screen 😂 My mom laughed at my reaction Edit: btw I’m trying out a new card game today! “Bears and Honey” It’s a tile placing strategic card game that I’m really looking forward to playing
You two recommended a card game called Point City ( I think it qualifies as a card game, I'm new to gaming and still unsure of all the categories) that my gf and I love to play, thanks!
I just learned cribbage at DTW. It was my biggest surprise. I loved how it's almost poker, but has these elements for a two player duel. I think i need to buy a nice set.
Great list!! I have some games I’m going to have to go check out and The Bloody Inn has been on my wish list for a bit. A card game that I am really into right now is Skoventyr.
Hearts! It's a very interesting game. I like the idea of avoiding tricks instead of taking them. A more recent "version" of hearts is Rebel Princess, which is very fun and plays better than the original in a different player count. To wrap it up, my favorite kind of game is deduction. I love matching different information to get to the solution. In the genre (and using only cards to play), Sleuth is fantastic. It feels like it's always your turn, because every piece of information is valuable for solving the mystery and, even when it's not your turn, you have to pay attention to the questions and answers, because you can use them to cross reference with what you already know. A really cool game.
Hero/Star Realms - loads of content and expansions for very little money, comparatively. I love Res Arcana, but in terms of VFM, Star Realms Frontiers is almost impossible to beat.
Currently, 6 of my top 10 games are card games and that's an odd number to list(or is it?) so I'm going with it. 6 - Terraforming Mars Ares Expedition 5 - Knarr 4. Eminent Domain(how far you have fallen, sir. Get better scrub) 3. Earth 2) It's a Wonderful World 1) After Us
hey there Brothers here's a topic suggestion for what I think could be a very cool video: top 10 games we haven't played but are extremely adamant to ever even trying ...... (and if you think this is a good idea could you please be sure to include summoners war 2nd edition? ... 😅)
I love that Cribbage is #1 on your list and the memories you shared with it! I have been getting back into the classic card games lately and actually just got my first Cribbage Board recently. One of my favorite card games is Campy Creatures by Keymaster games and its expansion! It's a trick-taking game, but themed with retro style classic movie monsters that remind me of the old movie posters. Then, a new classic card game I have fallen in love with is the Italian classic game of Scopa! It is seriously fun and can be played with a regular deck of French suited playing cards, the usual 52 card deck we know, but I suggest getting a deck of Italian playing cards, Spanish suited ones, and use those to play Scopa! In Scopa, each player is dealt three cards for their hand, and four cards are dealt face up into the middle of the table. The first player to score 11 points, or whatever agreed amount, wins, and you score points by capturing certain cards from the row of cards on the table.. On the players' turn, the player will play one card from their hand and see if they can capture a card that equals their cards value they just played. For example, if I played a five from my hand, then I could collect a five from the row on the table, or I could collect a three and a two which equals five, or a four and an ace which equals five, or a two and a two and an ace which equals five, etc. This continues back and forth between players until all cards are captured. Then you score the points. Super easy game to learn, fun to play, and a lot of good memories with it!
Strange card thing I encountered: I was in Oklahoma for a wedding, and we hit up a casino. I walk by a roulette table and the wheel was in a weird spot. The dealer then grabs two cards from a boot, scans them, and announces the number "the ball landed on." Turns out there some rule in OK that the only gambling allowed must be card-based. Even the slot machines display a poke hand in the lower corner.
In California we have a similar thing. At the casinos on the native American reserves, you’re not allowed to have dice games. So games like craps are done by flipping over two cards with die faces on them.
@@TheBrothersMurph Ha, no way. I'm in California, but I don't gamble. It's like the Diet Soda version of gambling. Now I'm imagining people playing D&D and the GM sliding a card to the player from a boot.
I feel like each subscribe cut away is getting more unhinged… is Nick going to be trapped in the flat land of the table next? Will Pippin abseil in to steal a game? Find out next week on Submit to the Murphs
Great picks! My top 10 would be: 10. Sea salt and paper 9. Star Wars : The Deckbuilding Game 8. Res Arcana 7. Disney Lorcana 6. Sushi Go Party 5. Arboretum 4. Radlands 3. Splendor 2. Earth 1. The Crew Mission Deep Sea
I typically don't like card games for some reason I haven't quite figured out yet, but The Bloody Inn is fantastic! I have the expansion but haven't tried it yet since I'm still very much enjoying the base game.
Thanks so much for doing a list of card games that aren't just he major TCG's like Magic, etc. I prefer simpler games like you reviewed too. You guys are so entertaining - I love your casual fun vibe.
Favorite cards games include :poker, euchre, bridge, cribbage, solitaire, rummy, memory, free cell, and baccarat. Sadly I’ve never heard of any of these new ones, but I’ll give them a try. Thank you for the recommendations.
I just saw this and I am amazed and THRILLED that Cribbage was your number 1! As much as I enjoy modern card games, Cribbage is my favorite card game as well. I play it a lot (usually several games at once) on Board Game Arena too. What a wonderful choice!
Res Arcana is a fave of ours, just love it and the expansions are fun. We also like Radlands but that has dropped off for us, I wish they did some expansions or a sequel or something but they said it's standalone 🤷🏻 don't get why
The two card games that have the nostalgia factor for me are Uno and Euchre. I played Uno with my family and pretty much everyone in my small home town played Euchre.
Love you guys, but I had to say this. No Arkham horror, Marvel champions, or Lord of the Rings LCGs? Marvel champions in particular is rated so high on BGG. Then if you look at the best solo games of all time, those three games mentioned above are 2nd 3rd and 4th! Did y’all declare war on Fantasy Flight Games lol😂?
Here is my list although I could swap about 5 more games into this list. Just small boxes Dale of Merchants - Capital Lux - Scout - Campy Creatures - Valley of the Kings - Point Salad - Elephant Ball Balancing Act (from Japan) - Shards of Infinity - Cat Lady - Sushi Go

How about that Merry and Pippin cameo? “Oh hey you’re at our level! You wanna hang out? You tryna party?”

I'd love to see a casual list of games. You can be social with games that are easy to play while having chatting ,eating, and snacking time with friends.
Oooo good idea for a list!
I looooove cribbage! Need to play with you guys sometime!
Surprised that Ares Expedition wasn’t on here, as it’s basically just a card game
Thumbs up for a trick taking list
I would love to see it ascending from intro to master.
I love that (almost?) every time you show a cribbage board it's the one I grew up with.
When I was working for Electronic Arts way back in the day, I was testing an online version of Cribbage with my mom (3,000 miles away) and I got the only 29 I've ever gotten in my life!
LOVE your reason/explanation for your #1. It’s not about what you’re doing, it’s about spending time with friends and family.
Cribbage!!! So good! I learned to play this with my dad when I was pretty young ... he used to always say to me, when he was going to win, "sadly now, there can be but one outcome." Lol.

Yes! I grew up with cribbage and it the best way to past the time with my dad and we play and chat

I'm so glad that you guys enjoy Wind The Film. It does melt your brain!
My favourite card game are:
-Dale of merchants

-arboretum
-the crew
-regicide
-shards of infinity
Excellent choices !!!
I really like Ancient knowledge and knarr right now play them every week
Go for the trick-taking games list please!!! I love your content
A big 1 in our house and with our extended family, is Sequence. Great, chill game, ans yes it has a board but its very card based. Great video guys!
Still haven’t played Sequence
this video hits so many sweet spots of mine
Great list guys 🎉 BLOODY INN is my favorite game. Happy it made this list
Heck yeah!!
Shocked to not see Bohnanza!
I love you guys, I can see your passion and your dedication in every video. You deserve the best.
Greetings from Italy❤
Whooooa that’s a shirt from my local game cafe in Nova Scotia!!
I'll add 4 more....Race for the Galaxy, Vale of Eternity, Fort, and for a great trick taking game....St. Patrick.
Res Arcana is one of my favorites. Recently discovered Fleet: Wharfside and Deadwood 1876.
Canasta! I’ve been playing with my grad school friends since the mid 00’s!
Great selection, I'd really need to play Cribbage and teach you Belotte Coinchée at some point :)
I grew up playing cribbage with grandparents and other older relatives, too, and I'm so thankful for it!
I love the Bloody Inn! It's a fun solo game also.
I still haven’t played it solo, though I know Maggie from ThinkerThemer LOVES it solo
OMG LETS GOOOOOOOOOO!!!🎉
You guys actually saw my comment and made the video?!?!
Thank you sooooo much! Can’t wait to watch this!
Also THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING SHOUT OUT🎉
I actually screamed with joy when my comment was on the screen 😂
My mom laughed at my reaction
Edit: btw I’m trying out a new card game today!
“Bears and Honey”
It’s a tile placing strategic card game that I’m really looking forward to playing
Woohooo! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the suggestion!!!
You two recommended a card game called Point City ( I think it qualifies as a card game, I'm new to gaming and still unsure of all the categories) that my gf and I love to play, thanks!
I definitely want to see top 10 trick taking games but also Top 10 games with a standard deck of cards
I just learned cribbage at DTW. It was my biggest surprise. I loved how it's almost poker, but has these elements for a two player duel. I think i need to buy a nice set.
Hey James! You picked it up really quickly, and it was great getting to meet you at DTW.
@@stupidratcreature Was great to meet you! I did end up picking up a Cribbage set for myself. Thanks for Sea Salt & Paper too!
Don’t sleep on Love Letter. What an awesome card game.

I love that Cribbage is made by "someone hella old" 😂
I mean, where’s the lie?
@TheBrothersMurph There isn't. You are absolutely right lol
LOVE cribbage! Where did you get that board that was looked like a landscape walk through some woods?
Please tell me the under-the-table bit was inspired by Wayne's World. Party on, Murph!
Hero/Star Realms - loads of content and expansions for very little money, comparatively. I love Res Arcana, but in terms of VFM, Star Realms Frontiers is almost impossible to beat.
I know it's just a top 10 list, but Bohnanza should have been on it. Bohnanza in my opinion is second only to Scout
Yes ☝️
Radlands. Have you guys not played this yet??
Agree 100% with cribbage!
Currently, 6 of my top 10 games are card games and that's an odd number to list(or is it?) so I'm going with it.
6 - Terraforming Mars Ares Expedition
5 - Knarr
4. Eminent Domain(how far you have fallen, sir. Get better scrub)
3. Earth

I didn’t care for the Crew for I’d love to see a top 10 trick taking games. I’ve jumped on the trick taking wagon as of late.
Yeah we’ll do that list at some point for sure
Great picks! You guys need to play Stool Pigeon by Barrel Aged Games, it’s incredible!!! 🐦 💩
Just tried Cribbage for the 1st time recently and was surprised how good it is!
It’s sooooooo good!
For classic card games I love Casino.
Thanks for the list, I have huge love for Unfair, would you have excluded it due to the components?
1 dominion
2 Race for the Galaxy
3 Mystic Vale
4 Marvel Champions
5 51st State Master Set
6 Earth
7 ROVE
8 Point Salad
9 Sprawlopolis
10 The Crew
Man I really wish I could get a copy of The Bloody Inn. Seems like it won’t go sale again
Great picks! My top 10 would be:
10. Sea salt and paper

8. Res Arcana
7. Disney Lorcana
6. Sushi Go Party
5. Arboretum
4. Radlands
3. Splendor
2. Earth
1. The Crew Mission Deep Sea
Bangers!
NOTHING in board games feels more board games than holding a hand of cards. I say that completely unironically.
Great list... I also like:
Sea Salt and Paper because WE DO TALK ABOUT BRUNO 🤣
After the VIrus which is one ugly fun game
Sea Salt and Paper definitely could have made the list!
I typically don't like card games for some reason I haven't quite figured out yet, but The Bloody Inn is fantastic! I have the expansion but haven't tried it yet since I'm still very much enjoying the base game.
We also just got the expansion and haven’t had played it yet, seems like it adds some good stuff!
I'm surprised the Imperium series classic/legends/horizons was not mentioned

Thanks so much for doing a list of card games that aren't just he major TCG's like Magic, etc. I prefer simpler games like you reviewed too. You guys are so entertaining - I love your casual fun vibe.
Also Cribbage is one of the best classic games, right beside Poker. Poker's mix of skill, luck, and psychology is pretty epic.
Favorite cards games include :poker, euchre, bridge, cribbage, solitaire, rummy, memory, free cell, and baccarat. Sadly I’ve never heard of any of these new ones, but I’ll give them a try. Thank you for the recommendations.
So the next video is best dice games?
Chad Kroger sporting Mike looking like that Bezier thug is worth two likes.
I’m already subscribed Nick! Get back to the table
Fantasy Realms, San Juan
As funny as 'someone hella old' is for the inventor of cribbage, what's equally funny (and unfortunate) is the dude's actual name.
Arkham Horror
IWW
Res Arcana
Pagan
Gozu X
War of the ring card game
Cribbage is dope been playing since I was a kid. And the board always comes out at family bbq’s. Can play for hours at a time and never get bored
Great picks.
While Bloody Inn should be higher, Cribbage is right where it belongs.
Just replayed The Bloody Inn this last weekend, such a banger
I just saw this and I am amazed and THRILLED that Cribbage was your number 1! As much as I enjoy modern card games, Cribbage is my favorite card game as well. I play it a lot (usually several games at once) on Board Game Arena too. What a wonderful choice!
Res Arcana is a fave of ours, just love it and the expansions are fun. We also like Radlands but that has dropped off for us, I wish they did some expansions or a sequel or something but they said it's standalone 🤷🏻 don't get why
Where’s that cribbage board from
It's A Wonderful World and Cribbage as 2 & 1! I will now take every opinion you have as Gospel truth.
The two card games that have the nostalgia factor for me are Uno and Euchre. I played Uno with my family and pretty much everyone in my small home town played Euchre.
Merry and Pippin made me subscribe. Puppy power!
I have had The Crew Mission Deap Sea for like 2 years and still haven't been able to play it.
Bummer! Maybe play it on BGA?
No Netrunner, the greatest card game of all time??? :D
We haven’t played it :(((
What!? The old stuff from FFG is mostly out of stock but the fan run sets from Nisei/Null Signal are fantastic too!@@TheBrothersMurph
Love Cribbage and agree it reaches across all ages.
Here is my list although I could swap about 5 more games into this list. Just small boxes
Dale of Merchants - Capital Lux - Scout - Campy Creatures - Valley of the Kings - Point Salad - Elephant Ball Balancing Act (from Japan) - Shards of Infinity - Cat Lady - Sushi Go
