I interned with Marc a hand full of years ago. His insight on mixing was so crucial to my growing years. Even tho I work majority on rap music he definitely gave me a different perspective.

Must procure a Thermionic and a Transient Designer. Best tutorial ever. This is one of the best all time tutorials I've ever witnessed!

Glad to see that I use most if not all of those mix processes. I guess I'm on the right track (No pun intended...lol).

Excellent presentation and no nonsense approach to mixing. I notice that most engineers tend to mix on the bright side and find my ears prefer a less digital sound to music. ITB is where it's at presently, but analog gear still rules. When this song goes out to the mastering house, the mastering engineer will likely pass the song through plenty of organic sounding analog interfaces... both FET and tube. That will help transport the song to a warm place where the sun shines. You can't beat ITB music creation and mixing for speed, detail and recall... but analog has the girth, depth and width that digital tries to emulate but fails every time. I love ITB mixing, but will only rely on analog gear to get that final sound... hence the need for a good mastering house to take a great mix and make it stellar.

Yeah man, I agree... seemed to do exactly what he wanted, thicken it up and bring it forward, in a totally natural way.

Will these multitracks be available somewhere? I'd love to experiment with the Townsend plugin on those overheads.

How do you manage to write your automation with the fader with all the delay that the UAD Stuff creates? I can't do automation move personally when I throw that amount of UA processing! Good series!
