As someone who doesn't have a studio with daw and whatnot, this vid helped me decide what direction I want to go with my purchase. I'm a guitar player, but no way to build a song for play back, performance etc has been a huge obstacle. Loop stations are limited as far as creating a complete song is concerned. The MPC X is an awesome piece of gear. The price of this beats building, buying everything needed for computer style recording, plus I can take it with me and perform live. Outstanding video. Thanks for the tremendous amount of info you put into this.

I recently purchased an MPC X. It is an awesome machine. But, where are the books or manuals? I have watched hours of videos. This video is the best, no doubt. Sample Kings really helped me to get started on my journey with my MPC X. Thanks.
I ended up printing out the entire manual at Staples and putting it in a binder (they'll actually punch the holes for your, too). It really is a nice reference for those of us who actually like to read the manual.
Look for the “MPC Bible”. It goes into WAY more detail than the actual manual.
You can print out the manual online, it’s about 245 pages
You will probably learn more from this video or just searching a specific task.
When I got my mpc 2000xl back in the day I played with it 27 hours strait no sleep.
I was cruising after that. Never opened the Manual

Thank you for making this video, I wish you would make one specifically for those of us that want to sample from a turntable or an iphone and how to set the right tempo for the sample so that we can properly timestretch it. Thank you in advance!
if yout cut the loop perfect to any multiple of 4 bars itll detect the correct tempo
I've just ordered one that's coming in 5 days and I'm new to music production and this is the best video I've came across for someone who knows nothing at all , I've watched dozens of videos and still been clueless but this videos left me feeling I know it inside out and I've not even root the mpc yet 😂
The new one has the new software update but it's all the same in most places.

At 3:19:07 Preferences/Sync/Send Port... Just check that when a MIDI OUT is plugged into an external device that the MPC would pick OR "ACTIVE SENSE" that something is plugged into the relative MIDI out port... ONLY THEN you may have the option to send to that port. Because, if nothing is plugged into the MPC, then why would it give you an option, right? Just check to see if it does the "ACTIVE SENSE" thing. ;)
hello i have a question do you resample your synthetiser in your mpc cause if you re export it into mpc beats in midi files to have sounds?thanks to answer me
great device but when in drum mode the midi does not transmit into my daw for stacks ... also why can't we select the program when in mix mode or the multi view mode >?

It's almost a sin to upload this masterpiece onto RUclips as only 480p! Why in the world would you do that to us? I feel like it had to just have been a mistake?
Maybe his internet connection has poor upload speed and it would’ve taken too long to upload without RUclips glitching out… Maybe he’s just looking out for people’s data usage. I don’t think this really needs to be super HD to be really useful.
I tried to record the sounds within my MPC X in controller mode to Logic using multiple out puts but it only lets me either record into my daw in stereo or 5.1 surround sound….. can you help me
When I add sampled instruments (.xml files) they only load in the assign to pad section. How do I get them to automatically assign to pads with respective tune?

No but on the main page ..on the screen next to Sequence is the grid view touch screen icon...its under the House or arrow symbol. It's as shortcut as you can get ✌

I went from a Live 2 to the X and have been looking for a shortcut to grid view as well 🤷🏻♂️ Not what I wanted to hear ☹️🤣
Can you quantize audio tracks in the MPCX? I'm recording piano and bass tracks on audio tracks using my Roland Integra, but I'd like to use quantize them to perfect timing. Do i need an external sequncer OR can i use the one in the MPC x?
Unfortunately no
but if you chop you can quantize that!
Love this post and greatly appreciate yr thorough breakdown. I’m saying….love to see how clean you keep this tool. Drives me nuts how nasty some people let their equipment get. The value of keeping our equipment clean and in a smoke free and climate controlled environment can not be understated. Unless of course you have no qualms with ruining gear.

Peace. Quick question about Q Links + Submixes. I figured out how to emulate the four SP404 knobs on an MPC but I want to take it further. On the MPC X, you can map all 16 knobs to different effects using different submixes, but you can only send a pgm to one submix. Do you know if it's possible to chain submixes? I'm looking for a way to map and use all 16 knobs for realtime FX control without having to switch the pgm's submix routing during a live set.
It not built for live like that.
@@SampleKingsVideos found a workaround. The goal was to map all 16 knobs, but assigning 4 inserts to the master and another 4 to the submixes, now there's 8 independent effects available.

I have an MPC X . I’m trying to figure out what the sample rate (kHz) for the 24 bit depth. I’ve googled that it’s 44.1 kHz in standalone, but I would feel a lot more comfortable if I could view that within the MPC to confirm that that’s true. I’ve only found a window where I can change from 16 bit to 24 bit, and no kHz information is displayed. In controller mode, you’re supposed to have multiple options for the kHz settings. I can only (my preference) record audio in standalone. So I need to make sure the kHz setting for my guitar is correctly matched to the mpcx. Basically, I’m just trying to figure out how I can get into the MPC X, and see those options for myself before recording. Where can I see it displayed? I’m really only looking for confirmation that I’m doing it correctly. Any info is appreciated!
It's 44.1, go to menu, select save, in this window select audio mix down, in this window at the bottom you'll see the current settings, file format, bit depth, and sample rate. answered the other question too.

I don't understand why you would want to have 16 pads with the same drum sound on all 16 pads I don't get it
To change pitch, volume, layers, filters, for each pad, you might use note repeat hold down a pads one at a time and make a drum roll as they get louder using volume.
