3000 wish I still had mine. 60 mk2 was great but pretty limited.
👀 akai knows the retro colorway is the way to our hearts
Im still mad at the knobs being black lol but hell yea
So true I would never part with my mpc ren
And your wallet
Not mine 🤷🏾♂️
The ren is whats up with a solid built.
Even the best mpc wont make you a producer if you aint one. Im with you bro, there is absolutely no point in doing things the same way, lets improvise, lets learn and go forward with the tech that enables that. Peace from Poland and dope beats btw. Cheers mate
DAW got me working.
Vintage hardware made me pay attention to detail.
Modern MPC let me put in the work without overthinking it.
S/o the Cook for keeping it 💯 at the end 🙏💪
Oh this is what i always felt but could articulate
These videos always get me in the mood to cook up a beat❤
Thats the goal of these videos indeed
Facts
I agree… I had a number of the classic MPC’s, starting with the 3000 the year they were released. I wouldn’t mind having another 3000 or 2KXL around for nostalgic moments, but if I could only have one it would be the Live2 Retro or X SE. The current work flow is much better, and the Live 2 is super convenient. There’s also a number of ways to compensate for perceived differences in sound quality.
Yes
I’m with him in this, the older ones are great and all but I’d rather have the modern workflow and features. Though I’ll admit that just having this or any other modern MPC/gear won’t automatically make you a dope producer. If you can make a banger on a Windows XP pc with Fruity Loops 7, more power to you
You should be able to make a fire beat on anything if you got it. These machines wont help you . Actually might be harder for some producers to go the hardware route
@@StopTryingSoHard yeah… no input mixing is another level… but with the right sampler capturing those sounds…. That’s future
The samples give me such PlayStation 1/2 era vibes. LOVE IT
Great video bro and you blessed to make these awesome tracks and touch these insane high priced gadgets!
Even though I already have a Live 2 retro, which I love to death, this seems to be a great MPC. ❤
Buen trabajo Cookin Soul!
Nice music ------ I really like the bits you shared on this video ---- I am considering ordering one this week.
Thanks for your videos, they always motivate me🔱🔥🔥
Hearing Cookin Soul say it's the best and the workflow is phenomenal like that so man I really gotta get my hands on this machine. Appreciate you Cookin Soul for your honest opinion.
I love the video,I was thinking if you could do a video on how to emulate the old school sound of the vintage samples but with a modern technique like in the DAW. How to get the S950 low pass bump, the SP1200 ring, the 3K swing and so on.
Thank you Bro for this awesome review!
Great Review!
Always an inspiration Cookin Soul
as an addition to that Pro tip, If you select a bunch of notes an use the actual humanize function, you can humanize the whole part with varying tastes by applying and trying different amounts :)
I know but I don't like the results as much as doin it myself but yes that option is there. I would prefer to have it already integrated on pad perform mode so you can listen to the humanize feel in the chords and it records it right away instead of the after "post" results. Something like what ripchord does would be great to have.
Great review, thanks! 💪🏽
That mentality bro , just shows the different level you are to all of this . Mix that in with your review … best review I’ve seen Soul ❤ - Mindles
Amazing review and video as always!
Dope video bro I’ve caught a couple of your videos but I think this was the first time I actually got to hear you talk for an extended point of time. I liked it. And I also think the love two is the best mpc ever made.
I have the MPC1000 JJOSXL and I really enjoyed your honest opinion about this new MPC and showcasing it on your channel thanks
Much love Cookin. 🙏🏼
This is a great review! But what’s crazy is when I see videos like the alchemist and araab muzik still using the mpc 2500 and still putting out bangers. At the end of the day i just how the music sounds out those speakers not what type of machine is being used. It’s always the man behind the machine not the other way around
These machines won’t help you make better beats . They can only make the proccess easier as technology advances but you are 100% correct. A sampler does always the same thing workflow might be different but the results are 100% depending on the person behind the machine
He was referring to time. Making a living on a sp1200 with deadlines and commitments would be a nightmare.
this is the MPC Renaissance of the 21st century, beautiful hardwar
@@djone2one907 I wonder how it sounds if its warm
The mpc 1000 and 2500 sound lovely, I've had the new age stuff and it's not the same.
New work horse! great video! You always nice with the production. cheers
Thank u for your creation
This is one of the most sensible, honest, and interesting videos I have seen in a long time....The "review and opinion" section is fantastic view of new gear whilst paying homage to the vintage gear...If more RUclipsrs were like this guy, there would be no more ridiculous "mine is better than yours".....Thanks for this video man....
Your studio is SICK!!!! Love it!!! Working on mine now.....Nice video production as well!!! #Salute #Inspirational
Absolute 🔥🔥 video🙌🏻
Well put 🔥🔥
So what I do for stems, is I modified Mixxx to trigger spleeter, then save the stems in mp3 library and remapped the DDJ400 buttons so the sampler buttons change the track to the aprioate stem, convenient , but I agree would be more convenient to have it in the sampler but I suspect it would need the whole track in the sampler to do it well.
You can use serato dj or studio and record the stems directly live into the mpc. Its 2023 we need the stem separation option inside the mpc directly. Akai needs to make that happen asap
Great review! The beat is great and so is the discussion at the end
Respect for the review. Everyone has their preferences so all good. The 3000 is my favorite as no other MPC has matched its sound quality. The X overall is solid and always has been since it first dropped, but I would've expected more from Akai for the 35th anniversary of the MPC. I'm sure if they make an MPC6000, we will then see stems as a feature 😁. Salute 💯
Pure old school style 🔥🔥🔥 Shout out to Cookin Soul.
Looks like my renaissance
The new retro color is 🔥! I prefer the black & red of my non retro X though. But I agree that this is the best MPC.
That new colorway pops no doubt! I have a mini MPC X SE ! ( MPC ONE RETRO! 😉)
Love it thank you brother!
INTRO IS A BANGER:)
Question: your shit always sounds on point. As far as the new MPCs go. When you mix, in regards to gain staging, or whatever, or you doing any gain staging in the MPC software, then bouncing, etc? Are you doing the bounce to seq and explode drums from song mode to seq or are you just 2 tracking each track by soloing each track and bouncing each individually? This is the main thing I am trying to figure out. Would really appreciate a little guidance on this.
Beautiful🌞
What do you think about the sound quality between the X & the other MPC’s out there?
I just pre- ordered one !
Brutal,como siempre!,paz hermano👉
the upgraded ram is a nice touch on this unit
Nice I see that Vinyl next to the MPC WHEN YOU DROPPING THAT ON THE SITE
11:30 has all the info and you can preview all the merch and vinyl colourways. This one came out so good, might be my fav drop so far as far as design and outcome. Salute
damn, that retro colourway looks heaps clean!
Ok ok i’ll take your words into consideration 👌🏽
Wow. This was a better review than the product advertisement. Love that its a hybrid of an analog man in a digital world
What’s your go to instrument expansions or key group expansions and will the vsts that come with this new machine replace them?
Good Job Cookin Soul!
This MPC looks and sound crispy 🔥
Damn this looks straight up fire! Added to the 'i f*cking need this in my life' list 😂
You are exactly who I wanted to do a review on this. Answered all questions. I have the mpc one retro and been wanting the Live 2 but I think I want to invest in this now. Good looks
Is this available to purchase
@@Dispatcher813 link to purchase is in the pinned comment
@@Dan-ill Thanks
When you export your song you can bounce stems. Have to export as separate programs after exploding drum tracks. I just ordered one and I’m stoked to be cooking! Thank you for the insight!
I am talking about getting the separate stems from any song there's multiple ways to do that but Serato Studio has that already inside his daw, a true game changer, I want to see that coming to the MPC line. Of course you can export stems of your own beat im not talking about that.
@@cookinsoul I feel that! I’m bout to cop some packs off of you. Wish me luck!
Really appreciate your time and your opinion on the gear. I was not sure about buying the MPC X until I watched your review. Thank you so much!
Classy as usual
aw snap, makes me wanna get an MP again
I have the live mk2 retro and can't wait to get a x se king mpc for sure.
Finito carnal!! ✊🏾✊🏾
Love your channel cookin soul! What camera do you use? The videos look nice an crispy!
Ok, I havent seen this ANYWHERE but are you able to use the Elastique pro warping algorithm like in the desktop software? that plus faster loading time would be the benefit of the extra ram. otherwise its not REALLy too different from the MPC X No?
Thank God for the Soundtrack to the Vlog. Together with Red Means Recording and Cockoo one of the finest Demos.
Next year they’ll come out with mpc xse intergalactic space version 😂 just use what u got peeps n only buy if you absolutely “need” it or have enough money to buy it 3 times over ..great beat btw cooking soul 👌🏿 😊
Man, that beat is dope!!! 🔥🔥🔥 I recently bought the MPC Studio mk2 as an alternative to the stand alones as those are simply to costly for me. Man, I want the MPC X SE after seeing this video! Way to expensive, but damn that is a fine looking MPC!
Wow que sonho! 🔥
Straight 🔥 forreal
❤ live 2 is my fav!
BIG UP 💯 TOTALLY WITH YOU 👊🏽
Definitely a dope beat and an genuine opinion without the fluff
Glad I bought my X now
NEW COOK JUS DROPPD ❤🔥
Do u have any tutorial videos on the mpc for beginners ?
Your beats + Gurus rhymes = Masterpiece - RIP Guru
Great video! I have one question. Are you able to access the plug-ins while in “Controller Mode”? Thanks
Gracias. Fantástico review, fantástico vídeo como siempre. Saludos de Ginebra🇨🇭
Very interesting video, thanks. I actually only listen to your music but the technical stuff is interesting, too :) Maybe I'll get the live 2 or something one day just to try and learn that stuff :D
Love the video and your opinion I have the live 2 and I will safe up and get the mpc x se after watching your video and opinion thanks for a RUclips videos and information appreciate it my man
Best honest opinion ever. Love this video and your work.
Thoughts on the Key61?
yeah boi!
Thank you very much for mentioning my work. The beat is amazing!🔥🙏
thank you brother. I will contact you soon, hope we can work on some things together.
@@cookinsoul thanks! Any time 🙌
Good to see you mention Musician's Paradise - that channel is
🔥
That guy is doin gods work for the community. I have to reach out to him for a collab and bring more ppl to his channel
banger beat - and damn, this thing is powerful
My MPC Renaissance does the same thing as this MPC X SE.. Its a ripoff! Your beat is fire as usual
Respect y Love 4 this man! ❤🙌🏿🙏🏿
🔥
I’m a mpc cat as well and the X and the retro is the best to me as well … you can do some incredible stuff with it … ✅
just got mine on order, waiting for it to ship lmao.
Word! The knobs and the screen bezel should be the same grey color as the side panels.
Yo.
Is the Flavor pro plugin included or do I have to purchase it?
VIBES ❤❤❤
Man u some genius, always dope 💥💥💥✌️
Saludos bro
@@cookinsoul Excelente respuesta, Saludos Master! 🙏🏽🖖🏾🔥
Peace. I have a question about Q Links + Submixes. On the MPC X, I mapped all 16 knobs to different effects using different submixes, but I can only set a pgm to one submix. Is it possible to chain submixes? I'm looking for a way to map and use all 16 knobs for realtime FX control without having to switch the submix routing during a live set.
Great shit
personal note: screen in the packground, cool effect. 14:00
