- Someone asked in one of my comments how to install and format a hard drive inside the MPC. Hope this help!
Oh, and excuse my verbiage.. SSD is different from a standard hard drive. I rushed the video and didn’t pay much attention to the difference between the two drives. Thanks for your understanding 🎯
Let me know if its anything you wanna see about the MPC!
Thanks for Watching! - Видеоклипы
Your video is simply brilliant: the image and the commentary are perfectly synchronized. Everything is shown and explained simply. But why aren't all tutorials done this way? I'm going to subscribe! Thank you ... !
That’s what’s up! My goal is to make quality videos that people can follow and understand. I’m glad it’s coming across that way 🙂
Super thanks for watching‼️
Just copped an MPC Live 2 and this worked a treat, thanks for the tips! 🎉
My pleasure 🎯
Excellent video, straight to the point. I grabbed an og Mpc X and just installed 2TB. Much obliged.
Kool, thanks for watching 🎯
Thank you for this man. Real talk! So str8 to the point. I was literally looking for a video and not only did I find it, it was specifically for the SE. even though the flow would be for the regular MPCX I’m glad it reflected what I literally had. And I have a MacBook as well, so this made everything seamless!!! I’m up and running now!! I don’t know when I’m gonna use it because I don’t have the space lol, so probably still gonna be operating with my one and live2, but thanks a ton man!!! 4real!!!
Glad to know the video helped out, I look forward to this kind of feedback. You are absolutely welcome‼️
Excellent video straight to the point. Thank you!
Super thanks‼️
Yo! Thank you for keeping this very simple and effective, worked like a breeze on my new LIVE 2. Peace!!
Glad to know it helped. Thanks for the feedback🎯
Fantastic video! Your walkthrough was spot on!! New subscriber🤘🏽
Super thanks 🎯
Thank you for your help!
You got it🎯Thanks for Watching‼️
A great video. To the point not all the extra chatter and fluff. Just a simple how to video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the kind words and watching‼️
Awesome tutorial bro! Thank You!

Thanks for sharing this video brother 🙌🏾
My pleasure🎯
Well done. Thank You Sir
Thanks for watching ‼️
THANK YOU!
My pleasure‼️
This is an awesome tutorial. I liked how you went into the perfect amount of detail and paced it so that someone could follow along while installing the drive if needed. Thanks for creating this great content!

Good stuff bro!

@@whennatecreate next week ! Let's go baby !
Lean tutorial. Thanks for being concise and expedient. I am comparing the X and X SE at the moment. Is the 2GB vs the 4GB and the extra sound package really worth nearly 900$ more?
Oh and the 16GB internal vs the 49GB internal? When you can add 2TB for less than 150? What do you think? Is the new X SE worth it?
Only because I bought the X used is the reason I bought the X SE new.
I wanted a new machine🎯
When I bought the MPC X used I noticed a slight button issue and it always frustrated me, even though the machine is in about 99% working condition… oh and buying it at a discount 😅
If it wasn’t for that one issue that still work by the way, I would not have bought the MPC X SE so soon.
The MPC X with the red and black look is dope to me🎯💯
For me it’s worth the purchase because I have a solid working machine. I was thinking maybe @akai is working on new plugins and sounds to add to them, and the bumped up the RAM and HD space is needed🤔🤷♂️
@@whennatecreate Appreciate your input. It will be my first one ever and I like the hardware. For me coming back into making beats it will be my centerpiece. I am seriously leaning towards the X SE as it comes time to pull the trigger on the purchase.
@@X7_MERC_MAN_17 @akai The MPC X & MPC X SE are one of my fav machines‼️🎯💯
I put the same drive but the 4TB version in my SE yesterday, first thing I did after the SE got delivered.
Nice! One guy in the comments said that me adding 2TB was overkill, so I wonder what he think about 4TB⁉️😅🤣
@@whennatecreate i guess it depends on what someone is putting on it. I have over 500 GB of Samples , 300 GB of MPC and Maschine Expansions, over 140 GB of MP3s and that’s just to start with. So to me it made sense getting a 4TB for future proofing. My MPC Live II Retro only has a 2TB SSD and only has 350 GB left which is why I got the 4TB. It also has a 128GB SD Card but not sure if I’ll use that, just wanted one for it…
@@R41NES Agree💯
I just installed a 4tb SSD. On the MPC 61 key. I've yet to get it to show up on my hp laptop.. I hate Akai thoroughly. Kronos 👑.. wtf owning an X and 61key with 4tb , and wanting an 8tb SSD... X only handles 1tb.. in 2024... Windows is letting me down, and I detest Apple.. not seeming so bad now ... I've spent too much to not have it up and running. You can't future proof with PC apparently... Somebody please change my mind
what if you dont have the screws for the drive to secure to the plate ?
No screws 🤔 either find the screw size and order them or might have to improv a way for it to stay in place without moving around 🤷♂️😅
@@whennatecreate ok, Velcro never let me down lol
Oh yeah good choice💯
Hi ! Thanks for this video. After installing and formatting the SSD, do we have to create new folders ourselves to save our work, or is it possible to copy those from the internal hard drive in one go? And how? I hope you could help me. THANKS.
So, once I install the drive I save everything there unless it’s factory content that must go on the MPC internal drive. Have you tried to use a computer to transfer files from one drive to another?
@@whennatecreate i did but the internal drive didn't appear on my computer...only the SSD appear.
Oh ok. Only thing I can think of at this moment is open your sessions one by one and re-save them to your new drive. Also try the Mpc forums someone can probably help you there as well.
@@whennatecreate THanks; that's what i'm doing right now, and it takes time. ;)
Greetings, did you register your MPC X, before installing the drive?
Hmmm🤔 I can’t remember 😅 It’s possible because I try register right way 🎯
@@whennatecreate I just installed a 1TB, thanks to your video! I’m 1 day new into my SE, but not new to MPCs
@@beataddiktgodd Dope‼
can u put a 8 gb into the mpcx?? i heard the more gb into it it will get slower whats the deal
I’m not sure the least amount you can install inside the machine, but my 2TB runs like a champ‼️
Personally, I'd reccomend attaching the faceplate to the SSD before connecting the cables...... you dont want to lose one of those 'Tiny' screws inside the MPC ..... :( .....
Sure and that might work best for most people 🎯
Hi Whennatecreate. 2 TB Maximum or possible 4 TB & more? Thank you! Kind Regards
I haven’t seen where there’s a limit🎯
Could you please show the PC equivalent?
If I can get my hands on a PC no problem!
Hey bro can I put the link to tht exact Samsung drive so I could order it bro. Appreciate u
SAMSUNG 870 EVO 2TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD
I’m working on links
@@whennatecreate all god bro thanks
How did you eject the disk and put it on your desktop
There are several ways to eject the drive. On Mac if you right click the drive, a pop up window show eject, or some people drag the drive to the trash to show the eject option.
@@whennatecreate ok thanks
Kool no prob🎯
Hello. Can you install more ram on it. ?
I’m not sure… but maybe some tech geek could🎯
@@whennatecreate thanks.
@@maximusrecord8672 No prob‼️
Man, I didn’t know that you could put a 2TB SSD in an MPC X??? Or is it only for the SE?
Yep both, and it work like a champ👊
The difference between hard drives is they have a spinning disk inside of them a solid state drive doesn't have a disc inside it
Yes! I made a note in the description that the video was rushed, and I didn’t pick up on it. Thanks for the clarity 🎯
@@whennatecreate you're welcome
Why exfat?
It’s recommended by the company
Does this work for PC also
I haven’t done this on PC yet but I’m sure you can do it there too
I DIDNT HAVE EXFAT ON MINES?
The recommend formatting for drives is exFAT, FAT32, or NTFS for all the best results 🎯
i didnt see any of those when i try to format only apfs and i got the same drive as in the video weird its not even showig up in the mpc lol
@@whennatecreate
thanks for the reply may have to send him back@@whennatecreate
Interesting 🤔 I used my Mac to format drive tho, and than install them in the machine🎯
My pleasure‼️
2tb is completely overkill.
It’ll take a couple lifetimes to fill that up in an MPC
Overkill is interesting🤔😅
i learned from experience, i never get audio files to fill up much. i was tempted to get a 1tb for my live2, but i got a 512gb at a cheap price.... and even that is too much.
@@MrCosmicVictory
Same here, I got a 512 in my live 2 and I’ve got 320gb left.
And I’ve got more drums and samples than I would ever know what to do with
@@whennatecreate
Hey, it’s better to have it and not need than to need it and not have it🤷🏾♂️
But I find it very hard to believe that you would even use 250gb
It'll come more in handy if the MPC ever gets disk-streaming like the Force.
ssd is not a hd
Thanks‼️
