@@milansvancara Fair enough! And for what it's worth, I think yore right about our two-part system - it's disastrous. We're very tribal over here. I mean, I guess any country with a mixed population is often tribal, but our system definitely doesn't help.
I suppose it's a social media thing. It's as if we have to have an opinion and express that opinion about every single issue, all the time.
It's less so about feeling mad that the egg was removed and more about the fact that it is now socially acceptable for people to apply social pressure onto others to push changes like these.
Morgan is a perfect example of someone that amplifies this subject for his own success.

Claiming victim status themselves on ludicrously slender grounds (they are actually Koala's and no-one understands them), blaming history, blaming men, blaming the institutions whose protections they enjoy, blaming anything and anyone for the hard realities of life. Blame blame blame. The enemy is called narcissism and a large number of left wingers are corrupted to the core with it. Its blame culture and it is all around. Anything so that they do not have to take responsibility themselves and become a creative productive force in the world. Yes there is obscene in-equality, its a hard reality. I walked into the ladies toilets recently and found it contained quite a few women, a young girl, and a few drag queens. I was in no way dismayed to find the drag queens in the ladies (and these are people who identify as men), and felt they were probably safer in with us than if they'd gone into the gents. Not every situation is as simple as this, but many situations aren't as complicated as people make them out to be.

The vast majority of folks I know that fit this description are just normal people trying to live their lives as normal people. How this issue has come to the front of our social discourse is beyond me. Just let these people be themselves and move on. Free speech and allowing people to live their lives in peace.
Because the 1% of the 1% of trans that push the agenda is constantly paraded by modern tabloid 'journalists' such as Piers as the norm. I think half of the issue with the things like "not being allowed to use the word girls" or "removing the egg from a salad emoji" is that, no one from either of these communities has asked for this. I can't think of a single person I know who is part of the trans community, who would want people to stop calling girls girls generally. What they probably asked for, if they asked for anything at all, was for the language to be gender inclusive in things like general letters, or reports. Or perhaps there is a trans child at that school who wanted to be respected as such and not constantly be referred to as a "girl". I would be a bit hurt if I were still in school and my mum got a letter saying "your son", but wouldn't mind if they said "your child".
Same with the egg, you might have 5 people who complained about the egg, or perhaps they said "it would be nice if we had a salad without an egg", but realistically I can't imagine a vegan caring all that much about an emoji. They're more concerned about things like battery farms. These are examples of people in positions of authority making decisions without actually properly consulting the people they think they're helping.
And, honestly, the amount of letters I got that said "your son/daughter" in school infuriated me. This was years ago, before I knew anything about trans issues, and I just couldn't understand why they didn't just say "your child", and save on the ink. Having a more neutral approach to these things wouldn't hurt anyone, and might even save you a £1 in printing.
Maybe it´s time for you to "save some ink". Just saying

Piers appeared to have only very narrowly thought about his assertions. As they tumbled on reasonable questioning that appeared to reveal new things about his own thinking and position, and he looked around, and resorted to saying ‘your always right’ in lieu of a logical response, it made an unedifying spectacle.
James, if you want to learn more about transgender issues, I strongly recommend you include transgender people in your discussions. There are too many people who know nothing about trans people who comment on these issues, and yet are more than happy to vote into law restrictions on trans people.
