I'm glad you pointed out that as a kid you noticed dumb/annoying stuff in cartoons cause I honestly think most kids do! When I was a kid I was really annoyed by "mean girl" characters in friend groups who got away with being mean, but I liked Stella because she *wasn't* that. I think people forget that even kids have standards for the media they consume

BUT I CANT SEE ANY!!" when one of the winx is tied up with vines or something. like you can hear how helpless they are despite butterflix supposedly being more powerful than enchantix, believix, sirenix or or bloomix???
Right??? And the fact that they can suddenly do offensive spells the next episodes us just a Cherry on top
It guess even worse when S8 states that they can use any transformation they previously owned. They could literally just use Bloomix again since Butterflix was useless against plants
That stella-shiny moment was so disappointing when we look back at season 3 how she single handedly kept the girls LITERALLY alive and warm with her sun power in the omega dimension.

I remember Iginio saying he acknowledged the older fans' complaints. He said that Rainbow has to do that because the target age group of cartoons in general has become lower over the years. But the first seasons were fine for 6 year old me. It was like how a lot of Disney family movies are: they appeal to all ages in different ways. To me the fact that toddlers will watch everything you give them seems more likely to be the reason or excuse for the lazy writing. Rainbow simply isn't trying anymore. Oh, but sure they do remember what made the old seasons so great, because look, there's a flashback to Bloom at Pyros! It was as pathetic as the nostalgia bait in season 6. 😬
It's funny how Iginio tries to explain lazy writing and cheap quality of modern Winx by implying small girls are just too dumb to care but this show's numbers has never been this low while show like Miraculum is going strong for *checks* 7 years now and it's mainly thanks to fanbase consisting of both small kids, teens and adults. It's almost like being age appropriate doesn't collide with good writing and even the smallest children wants to watch stuff that takes them seriously as a viewer. I watched Winx since i was like 3 or 4 and i absolutely loved it while when trying to watch newest seasons with my 5 year old niece she got frustrated at the show and wanted it changed saying it's "dumb", it's so sad honestly because she enjoyed season 1-4 i played her.
@@papkinn Couldn't have said it any better. Personally, I'm not that much of a fan of Miraculous. I prefer the more season plot driven series, and Miraculous just has the same kind of plot each episode, which gets old pretty quickly. At least this changes in season 3 or 4. But this is just how I see it.
But at least Miraculous has solid plots and not so much filler. In the modern seasons of Winx Club, there's too many plot holes and it's just too obvious how much filler moments there are made purely to be filler and make the episodes longer.

@@abbythings I started watching Winx when I was 6 or 7 years old, back when it originally started airing. And while I found some things like the army of darkness kinda scary, it never felt to me like the show was "too mature" for kids.
@@WILFORDCLUX I mean sure Miraculous is not the best show out there but it's for sure something modern winx should inspire to be - semi plot driven show with monster of the week and lore sprinkled here and there for young girls. I'm not massive fan of it but i do recognize why it's popular and that it really tries to respect it's fans, their time and intelligence. It's just perfect show for a preteen and very small kid to enjoy together each one taking smth different out of it - preteen enjoying the story and small kid liking girl superhero being cool.
There's really no reason why modern winx is so stupid especially when literal shows for toddlers nowhere near that level, i would much prefer to show my toddler Masha and the Bear than Winx at least first cartoon will teach them something.
They did Roxy so dirty... again! And I don't understand why! Do they really think this is what fan service is? The way they didn't give her Butterflix and made her lose her stone of memories really makes it seem like they did this on purpose, probably not to pester Roxy fans, in their eyes, but to "proof" that Roxy just isn't powerful or good enough to be a true part of the Winx. They brought Roxy back, made her "fail", so that this event could serve as their excuse to not make her the seventh Winx.
yeah and I just don't understand why they couldn't just have her be a part of animal stories? no one would be too pissed if she's not in the club if she comes along only for animal issues. she deserved butterflix more than any other winx tbh

I'm okay with her not being a full member of the Winx Club, after all she became friend with them after they finished their studies (normally, before the reboot) so it would make sens that she is just their friend and not quite at their level yet
But it would be nice to see her have some relevance, especially for an animal-themed season

That is both funny and really stupid. Like here is the real questions. A…. Why didn’t Roxy get butterflix? Like…… hello? She is the fairy of animals and this is a animal and nature themed season with a animal and nature themed transformation. So, why didn’t Roxy get it? Especially since she was right there and she helped out during the fight! B….. Why does butterflix even exist? Like butterflix is a transform that allows them to connect with nature and the animals but we already had a nature themed transformation. Like Oh I don’t know…….. SOPHIX! Sophix is a transformation that was from season 4 and it was used only for 2 episodes. So why didn’t they just bring that back? Oh that’s right because the show seemed to forget that season 4 exists but not really. It feels like the show later on just remembers stuff from past seasons it wants to remember instead of remembering stuff that actually makes sense in the story. But anyway back on topic. We don’t need like a dozen nature themed transformations. Just use one and stick to it. Don’t create one and immediately go and create another one. But also they have Tynix which allows them to travel to mini worlds and talk to fairy animals and……. It’s basically Butterflix. It’s just Butterflix but with kinda better outfits and mini world travel. Tynix power is also time based. So when the girls use Tynix the time in there world slows down which is neat but it’s still basically butterflix. There just the same transformation just with a few differences. So we got two nature and animal themed transformations and we need that! Butterflix doesn’t need to exist. Just pick one or the other u can’t have both!
And the bad part is Flora could've told the plants to back off!
I stopped watching this show after season 5 so I was interested to see where the plot went after that.. the LAST thing I was expected to hear was "a BIRD FALLS IN LOVE WITH BRANDON".

"the infinity swan. fear me" finally took me out 💀
Season 1: Bloom discovers she's a fairy and enters a magic school while dealing with three evil witches.
Season 2: The Winx meet Aisha/Layla as while dealing with Lord Darkar as he tries to steal all the codex.
Season 3: Bloom learns about her home planet while dealing with Valtor who's responsible for destroying Domino. And the Winx become full fledge fairies.
Season 4: The Winx learn about the Earth fairies and search for the last one in Gardenia while saving her from the Wizards of the Black Circle.
Season 5: Tritanus tries to overthrow the ocean. It's not the best plot since it's the first season Nick co-produced, but it had potential to be good. At least Harmonix was a beautiful transformation.
Season 6: Barely much going on but there's a plot in there. The main villain was a joke as he gets defeated way too quickly. But hey, at least Bloomix was cool.
Season 7: There is none.

I watched the spin-off series “World of Winx” after finishing the main Winx Club and it was so good. World of Winx was actually interesting and I really loved the concept unlike S7 where it was quite boring and generic. Maybe you could review it? I think you may like it! I really enjoyed watching it 🤩
I watched a couple of episodes before, and the characters are definitely better written and have more of the correct respective personalities!
World of Winx is so much better than the original at least season5,6,7(season eight is exclude it is so much better)

@@LisaFevral i honestly dont blame u. When I watched season 7 myself I couldn't stop laughing as all of the characters we love become utter trash. The only good thing about this season is the fairy animals and Feregonda backstory. Honestly season 6 rurined the series for me but season 7 is worse.
The background for the Butterflix transformation as well as the dance sequence resembles that of the music video for K-pop group Rainbow's song "Sunshine"
Also, according to Winx Club Wikia, it says that Roxy was intended to earn Butterflix during the planning stage but was later discarded, as seen in the game Winx: Magix Mayhem (finished before Nickelodeon had finished the scripts for season 7)
That butterflix dance was very lazy and unoriginal, as it just copied from that K-Pop music video, just to have a dance to pad out the transformation sequence. Rainbow of South Korea should sue Rainbow SRL of Italy for plagiarism.

I would stan the hell out of this show if they’d been clever enough to make Butterflix time-travel related. That would really show respect for their audience’s intelligence, it would maybe give Tecna some time to shine and talk about temporal mechanics and stuff, and it would be, like you said, a fun way to reference the butterfly effect. There are so many ways to do time travel well.
and if they wanna say that it's too hard to grasp for kids, then why add time travel at all
I think one of the reasons why they excluded Roxy was because of the Winx’s appropriate Colors.Roxy was shown wearing green in her transformation.During Butterflix flora is the one wearing green.I’m guessing they couldn’t figure out any other color that would fit her🤷♀️.Still pretty stupid tho…

That just speaks everything about how they see the characters. Personality? Story? Relationship with other characters? Development? Nah, we're not interested in all of that, this character's colors are just not marketable enough! Meanwhile Winx keep having new outfit collections made in the same colors for every girl.

I hate when adults use this argument of "it's just a kid's show" to excuse poor writing... I was still a kid when Winx Club season 5 premiered and I literally stopped watching the show altogether, even though I was madly in love with them, because the writing had turned into complete shit 💀 I vividly remember hating season 4 to my core, but enduring through it because I loved the outfits, Believix and it's variations (Lovix and Sophix), but when Season 5 dropped with that Tritannus and pollution bs I was immediately out like it was SO bad 😭

Yeah, after a certain point the show was just too ridiculous to watch, and that's from someone who was OBSSESED with Winx Club (I even had like, 10 books of wink club, and a doll of Tecna). And what frustrated me the most was the Musa-Riven eternal struggle, I just wanted Musa to be happy...

(Mind you they had the first 4 seasons on Teen Nick!! Season 5 was on normal Nick then they just didn't air season 6-)

I remember getting excited to watch S7 in 2016. So when I finally had the opportunity, I think that my brain automatically went numb to protect me, but it still couldn't shield me of the cringe masculine scenes with the Specialists like in ep 4 and 10. Plus that scene in ep 26 with Helia dancing with the fairy animals will forever haunt my nightmares.

Do you know how long it takes to write a script for a season of a serialized Tv show? It costs money, it’s part of the production budget.

ok hear me out, season 6 kind of had a clear goal in locking the legendarium, it was bad, full of macguffin hunts, but still a goal, and winx did something to stop it, while season 7 is pointless from start to finish and is lost in its pointlessness, it does nothing for the world building, nothing that is relevant in the future, and winx are hiveminds xD
it's so sad and frustrating to see😭
also season 6 did a thing I really liked which was give most girl their own place in the school. Flora had her greenhouse, Stella had her boutique, Aisha had her gym and Musa had her music cafe.
I was hoping this season could expand on that and give Tecna and Bloom their own thing too but it did the opposite, now the Winx all think with the same brain more than ever.

But did they just give up on this and instead just follow the Winx around to see and wait if they would find the Ultimate Power instead? And then sometimes just randomly fight with them for actually no reason? 😅
I think I've said this before but I'll say it again: if they'd just made it so after enchantix, new transformations were for certain situations (like sirenix/harmonix being underwater, except that they used it all the time so...) and they just used magic winx and enchantix otherwise it would've automatically made the later seasons just slightly better lmao

Also about the cages it would actualy been intresting if Butterflx allowed the Winx to time travel but in return weakened their powers, since it could have been a way to prevent anyone with Butterflx from mesing to badly with the timeline intentionaly or not, so if they do something bad they could be easly stopped by watever were the strongest faries at the time. Also for dose who have played Xenobalde 1 and 2 it would have been cool if Butterflx gave them the gif of forsight similar to Shulk (XC1) and Mythra (XC2) witch allows them predict the future both near an far and react accordingly

One of my biggest problems with this season is the pacing. It takes WAY too long for the stakes to be raised. If this season were written like the previous ones, like, if the Trix were the main villains, the Trix would've had the fairy animal's power an episode or two before the Winx get their Tynix powers. It just doesn't feel like the magical universe is in danger.
The pacing of each individual episode is also slow. I've skipped large sections of several episodes because they'd take the duration of an ENTIRE SONG to have the girls just fly around and look at their surroundings. The story would only take up 4-7 mins of the entire episode! It was so boring!

remembered seeing the teaser for season 7 when i was in middle school and i just came out of a boring and gruesome experience (season 6) and i just stopped paying attention to the winx club afterwards until i was like in my 2nd year of university 💀 cant stand the butterflix dancing cinematic they look so goofy
season 6 at least had bloomix where i enjoyed watching them transform bc the design is toptier and (unpopular opinion) i like the song 😭 s7 had nothing to make me think that i can get through it

Considering that this season was related to animals, Roxy should've had been the star (as she is supposed to be the fairy of animals IIRC???). Yet another character with potential that got done wrong.

Kinda wanted to point out some additional moments and details.
First, due to the way Faragonda was presented in the time travel subplot and preexisting information about her current age Season 6 has given to us, we may assume that Kalshara and Brafilius have been on their gathering-an-army-of-the-fairy-animals mission for a hundred years or so, and barely did something. Amazing.
Season 7, Episode 13 (7x13) was especially frustrating to me due to that pathetic fight in the forest, where everyone but Bloom (cause of course) gets trapped in those cages, which... Can we talk about the fact that they are not really that much of trap? The Winx could literally fly out of them, since nothing was blocking their way out from above. Or crawl out of them, if they were somehow deprived of their ability to fly being inside those cages. But I don't buy this whole "magic that's stronger than ours" crap: the infected mushrooms from episodes 7x06-7x07 literally caused them all to de-transform, while here they were able to maintain their fairy forms. They could've done something, but instead they chose to stand inside those cages until almighty Bloom resolves the problem.
I honestly despise the reason of Tynix's existence. Until the Trix arrive, each time Winx travel to the mini worlds, they practically escape the direct confrontations with the main villains of the seasons, Kalshara and Brafilius, which doesn't help their cause, since, you know, they were shown incompetent beforehand, and the fairies didn't go out of their way to actually fight/capture them: they just occasionally reacted to the evil-doings of those two, and pretty much reluctantly. The episodes 7x16-7x17 are extremely annoying due to the fact Winx had to fix the issue they (Brandon and Stella, to be exact) created themselves. And while the mini world presented in this episode (just like many others) may be pleasant to look at, it doesn't take away from the fact these episodes don't add anything to the plot, except for the environmental commentary they already got tired of in Season 5. Two entire episodes of insufferable filler events.
However, nothing of it comes close to, in my opinion, the most infamous episode of the entire franchise, "Banana Day" (7x18). It's just plain awful, from the start to finish. No further commentary. Well, at least the song from the end of an episode slaps. But it's not worth this episode's existence.
Anyway, yeah, although having some interesting aspects, specifically the fairy animals of the main cast, this season is definitely the worst one so far. We're only going downhill. Now isn't that just sad...

@@LisaFevral Yeah, a good show can leave such an impact on a kids life. Everything else from my childhood is a bit fuzzy but I clearly remember having a preferred aesthetic back then that shaped me into the artist I am now.
I know it's just the lights, but the double shadows on the wall give on the illusion of wings sprouting from your back.
And honestly it's really fitting.
The "It's a kids show" is an overused and invalid excuse. We al know that the majority of the viewers are adults. Creators know this perfectly.

For some reason, those fruit outfits the Winx wore in Episode 4 will always remind me of Olesia Stefanko's national costume for Miss Universe 2011 when it comes to how similar they look, especially when those dresses have those plentiful red fruits forming the skirt. The silhouette is almost the same, except that the Winx wore a fruit headdress, while Olesia's national costume had two pieces of huge leaves stitched on the torso part of her costume.
Love your videos Lisa, your calm voice really sounds like the much needed voice of reason amidst the absolute chaos that is Winx season 5 and up.

Also, I don't know if they explain it, but can they use other transformations, cuz enchantix was the guardian fairy form that was standardt for season 3s canon but we never see them use enchantix and the fairy dust again. Correct me if I'm wrong.
