    I know it's not the main method you preach, but these types of videos about important non-noun non-verb words are invaluable to the way I learn languages in general. Once you identify these types of words you basically just have to infere the noun and sentences become a puzzle where you have all the structure and just have to fill in the pieces

    This is a great video but as an aside I think it's great that you include both male and female audio of all the phrases in your courses, because i only ever had female Chinese teachers and when i first got to China i found that i couldn't understand men at all!!! So this is a great detail to think about and add

    • @Trhnetesiuz

      They generally don't support Anki as it is way too hard for them to protect their materials. Instead they use their platform.
      Though I was wondering if there isn't at least PDF for this. It would be nice to be able to print it out.

    Great lesson! As a native Chinese speaker from Taiwan, I usually use '更何况' instead of just '何况' to add more emphasis. For example, at 24:43 in the video, you said '这道题连老师都不会, 何况我们呢?'. I would say '这道题连老师都不会了, 更何况我们呢?'. It probably comes down to personal preference and style. I like combining '连...了' with '更何况...' for added emphasis. By the way, your Chinese fluency is absolutely fantastic! I hope one day I can speak English as fluently as you speak Chinese!

    I’m on my journey to learning Chinese too. I’m dating a Chinese girl and have been for the past 1 year. We finally came down to Chinese to visit her family for Chinese new years. I’ve learned enough to say basic stuff like whether I want to eat or drink someone. Thank you, you’re welcome and a few other very simple things. Not enough for full sentences but enough to understand like 10% of what they’re saying in everyday conversation. Next year when we come for Chinese new year my goal is to be able to communicate even more. These lessons have helped me with what I know and hopefully I’ll know more by next year🎉🎉 keep yall updated and 新年快乐!!

    Great comprehensive summary! A common way I like to use "要不" is combined with 咱们 as a suggestion when talking with friends, eg "要不咱们一起出去吃饭?”
    Some other connecting words I've written down to try remember are:
    却 = although
    由于...因此 = owing to... as a result
    也许 = perhaps (alike 要不 but more formal)
    不管...还 = no matter... still
    以及 = as well
    怪不得 = no wonder
    And then the million adverbs/connecting words containing 然 can be useful, including
    竟然 = unexpectedly
    偶然 = occasionally
    突然 = suddenly
    忽然 = suddenly
    仍然 = still
    既然 = since
    依然 = as before
    居然 = unexpectedly
    显然 = expectedly
    果然 = expectedly
    必然 = expectedly

    As someone with upper intermediate Chinese, I didn't think I would find this too useful. It was linked to me by my beginner friend.. But I gotta say, it still absolutely helped. I more or less knew, or had at least heard of most if not all of them but didn't necessarily know the nuances of them before watching this (e.g. 哪怕).
    The biggest surprise/lesson I got from this? 不过 not being able to used before something positive. I had absolutely no idea! I tend to always use 但是which doesn't have that "problem"
    I kind of expected to see 甚至, 连, 即便 but they didn't come up! Keep up the good work. Have seen your videos for a while and they're great

    你们做出的视频和文件都超级有用,而且我自己也觉得你们作为学者对其他学中文的学生比中国老师还非常有用,有特别的能力把更多具体地点指出给我们解释好。可惜,有时候我觉得你们可能没发现一些小的东西,其中之一就是我看这个视频的时候一开始觉得有些汉字的字体有点奇怪,让我想了想,然后发现了看起来是日文的汉字标准系统。尤其是 "冷" 跟 "冷" 的区别,但是更多("所"、"房"、甚至 "去"和 “她”)字有中文标准字体和日文标准字体,这些有所不同。我知道日本的语言发展过程中也有字体简化的阶段(他们所称为的 “shinjitai” 的汉字写法就是新字体),比如 “圖” 没简化成 “图”,而变成了 “図”、“圓“ 没成为 ”圆“,反而现在用 ”円“ 来写,可是我还不太清楚为什么中日语言中这么类似的汉字还是没有同样的字体。我们打中文字的时候无意地把文本变成日文字其实很常见的,但是如果你们想做出更多以汉字为主题的视频,我推荐你们把这个看好,不要让学中文的学生以为日文的标准字体是中文的标准字体。不过,无论字是什么样子的,你们教中文的能力真的很棒!谢谢你们!

    • @jesuschrist1049
      @jesuschrist1049 8 дней назад

      the literal meaning of 要不 should be "if not" instead of "want not" because 要 also has the meaning "if". Like in the word"要是“ which just means "if". 要 can also mean "if" standing alone in spoken language. Here is an example I just came up with: "你要想赢,就得更努力练习” you can see here it's 要想 instead of 想要 which means want, but this is not a mistake, here the 要 alone means "if", and 想 alone means want. 要不 can appear in a similar way, "你要不想吃,就走吧“ Here even though 要 and 不 are together, they don't mean otherwise, 要 alone means if, and 不 alone means not. So the sentence means‘ if you don't want to eat, just leave" .

Even quite a lot is common in grammar such as no tenses, etc.

    If you could pause just for one second after delivering an example sentence, to give us time to glance at the written translation and check our comprehension? You stop speaking and immediately the written translation disappears and the next one appears. For people trying to comprehend your spoken language without cheating by reading along, we don't even have time to pause the video. It's already gone and I have to actually back track to see it.
